@@AlgorithmInstituteofBR GeechTREE Gotti was on the sidewalk about to do an interview and a car driving by started slowing down. Next thing you know,he started hugging that tree like he was a vegan
This channel is raw. But honestly, I just feel like Smack is burned out. He been doing this shyt for what, 20yrs? Doing business wit nothing but gangbangers and hood dudes. And bro is like 40+ yrs old now. I just feel like hes over it. But at the same time, if thats the case he needs to pass the torch and just be behind the scenes, or sell the business entirely
@@Sunnyb305 It's also not really worth anything tbh lol. There's no infrastructure, no intellectual property, the old battles have already been monetized.. it's really just the URL "brand", whatever thats worth. I'd guess not much. I don't think it's that he *wouldnt* sell, it's moreso that he can't sell it. There's reallyyy nothing to sell, honestly. I'd virtually gaurantee his hood ass never even trademarked/copyrighted "Summer Madness" lol. If it was worth anything at all, Diddy/Revolt woulda bought it back in 2013ish. Dont get me wrong, I'm a DIEHARD fan since like 2005, I just don't think he's a very good businessman.
No cap I used to be involved w battle rap. I live in Newark n worked wit Ray Swag/UW. I can tell you first-hand it's a nightmare putting shows together. Whack ass rappers asking 50K to battle, dudes on probation that can't travel and/or getting locked up, event insurance/security is thru the roof bc its 90% gang members, dudes showing up hourss late for they own battle. Its like the most unprofessional business imaginable lol. That shii GOTTA take its toll after 20+ years.
@EJ-jw9ow Great points. Many that i’ve spoken with have said the same thing. I think i have a solution though and im working towards explaining it and working behind the scenes to get insight from people that are apart of the business side of the culture
@@AlgorithmInstituteofBR thanks for dropping knowledge on how it was done. You've really used technology in a way to tell stories in a way I have yet to see done on RU-vid. especially in the battle rap niche.
He originated this type of battle rap, the 1 who paved the way for all these battle leagues we fortunately have today! The Pioneer of this battle shit, U can't copy respect💯👑
Channel 🔥 but we can’t slander the creator of all this. If y’all giving personal opinions on his character then y’all gotta speak on his contributions to the battle rap culture. Can’t have new fans coming in bias. Y’all got something dope that can be a staple if y’all call it straight, no feelings. 💯
Definitely 2 Raw for the Streets, Grind Time, Lions Den, etc…but now we acting like the game is same if there was no Smack? All I’m saying is apply the facts with the opinions. This ain’t about who y’all favorite is… I like what they doing in here so I wanted to give my feedback as a DAY 1 BR supporter. If we was talking history lessons or being technical, this would’ve been a different type of comment obviously. 🫡
Folks act like they didn’t know long time ago that smack is a caveman intellectually. His vocabulary said it all long time ago “ you know what I’m saying”
@@AlgorithmInstituteofBR nah I got a video from 2015 I caught him doing some slick shyt to tsu surf I feel he’s been this way people just know catching on. K shine fed up too lol
I think you have to look at smack very different than anyone in the battle rap game. Started the entire industry. If you look back at various situations Smack has absolutely no reason to deal with battle rappers on a certain level.
This video is based on his statements and actions not my or our opinion. He is very careless when it comes to how he speaks publicly about battlers. He is severally lacking in the attributes that make up a good leader. i think your knowledge is limited and you like many others have romanticized Smack and his contributions. Attributing Norbes and even Bradley’s contributions to Smack, ignoring what Daylyt said when he said Smack was ‘just the face’. You also seem to be ignoring the recent court case. In due time all will be revealed. ⏳Stay tapped in!
Love the channel… but, the scrutiny of Smack feels unwarranted. Every businessman isn’t trying or wants to be a leader. This video reflects on Smack’s leadership, which I don’t think he is. Now, has Smack’s commentary been distasteful?? Sure. But, on his platform he can do things his way🤷🏽♂️. That’s just my opinion. Watching this particular video shows a bias towards Smack. It seems personal compared to all the other vids I’ve watched. Even the Adi Boom vid was from a non biased perspective. As Boom has been slandered publicly for “snitching”. You all have been giving a fair assessment on everyone else. But you’re obviously attacking Smack’s character without fact. There are things that we both can agree about Smack’s actions and how we feel about it. But judgement of his leadership and character are personal opinions. No facts can support that. Much love tho 🙏🏽 and I will continue to watch and share your stories 💪🏽💯
@@AlgorithmInstituteofBR definitely…. and I’d share the same opinion on those public statements. No doubt. But, those statements were being credited to him being a poor leader. I’m saying that’s not factual on the account of Smack not calling himself a leader and insinuating that it had hurt his success. We can’t factually say URL’s success has been damaged at all. Factually, they’re showing us that they’re sticking to their plans and when any little battle hits RU-vid it still does more numbers than other battle leagues. Arguing that URL is still the biggest platform. Mind you, I enjoyed this video for sure 💯 I just noticed the difference in the tone of the story telling. This seemed more bias than all the other videos I’ve watched….and I think I watched all of em 🤣🤣💪🏽💪🏽 but s/o to yall 🙏🏽🙏🏽 it just felt different to me
How? His league came late. After Grindtime. After Fight Klub two leagues that had an impact before URL. Fight Klub was on tv. We believe Norbes is the architect of URL’s legacy.
Norbes definitely brought the talent to URL but it’s just like the music industry and promoters like J prince , Rick Ross, Baby etc. these artists were great without them but once they got next to these large promoters they blew up.
And those leagues you mention came before and didn’t last. No league has had URL’s impact for this long. Norbes has been gone for 4 years and URL is still considered the #1 league. It’s all by design. And before URL there was SMACK DVD’s
Before URL as a business and a company it was Smack running around with a camcorder filming random freestyle battles in the hood. I was 10 when I saw first saw him in Harlem in 03. I don’t even know the 2 dudes that were rapping (they were trash) I obviously never made the dvd also
I can’t agree with this bcuz at one point smack wus too nice wich turned him to this emotionless person u see now bcuz they took advantage from 2010-2015 smack said or showed nuthin bad toward the first tier guys and now they run off
Dope story.we gotta realize smack was always a camera man most camera man wanna stay behind the scenes because they not really that confident or posses the skills that you named we threw smack into the limelight and the money went to his head smack still from the streets at the end of the day so he always gone look out for his self first
That’s his personal though, we don’t want to get close to gossip unless there is a compelling story to be told that effects the culture. Also this is based on Smacks public words. Beasley is much more cerebral with his approach.
@@AlgorithmInstituteofBR your work is Breath of fresh air for BRC, beautiful artistry and voice over work. I was moreso speaking on Beaz as a PRIMARY decision maker for URL & the power he’s allotted to his VA bff.
Cmon now … Smack been on that bullshyt. He should have been focusing on all talent including new instead of allowing ppl like Surf, Mook and Aye Verb to be the ‘face’ of URL
Smack Been doing this shit for 30 years and that’s what hip hop is based on EMOTION AND SELF EXPRESSION!! You should’ve did this about Beasley no SMACK! I love these videos but this one sucked and was inaccurate and disrespectful to Legend in this culture!! Yaw really attacking this Man’s intelligence smh 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
these battle rappers and owners are from the streets. you guys really expect Chick-fil-A customer service and management from these low lifes, stop it LoLoL
