True. For 2012 to many 2014s excluding the Camry and a few more vehicles, the Toyotas did not do well in that test. Now, Toyota is revamping the structures of their already poor rated vehicles, improving their result.

The wrong part of all of it, is that people believe in Toyota as a high quality brand

I would rather say that the body structure of the car should guide the barrier away from the vehicle, so that the car sort of sweeps past the barrier. This way, the structure of the vehicle has to endure significantly less stress and the occupants would not experience such a sudden deceleration.

Not really. They're frame is so high up that it will overshoot the other car and get almost none of the impact. The real danger is for the car you hit.

100kmh is actually the traveling speed and if you break, it reduces to 64kmh(most of the time)

@@WarCrimeGaming dunno about where you live but the average speed in my area is around 120kph... Main post has a perfectly valid point tbh. I am already paying FAR more money than I should for these machines, why can't the companies develop better vehicles that can safely stop 160kph crashes?

@@kevinburns8473 I never drive over 100kmh knowing how unsafe that could turn out. What goes to your point, there are already systems that COULD prevent crashes and developing such things whould cost way to much. And at that speed, you'd be dead nonetheless because your bones whould shatter.

Sure, if they used lightweight alloys it could but certainly adding a bit more to the diameter of the steels already in place on the vehicles couldn't cost more than $3000 per vehicle. Not to mention there are likely more efficient ways to reinforce the vehicle than the designs we are already using. Im merely spouting conjecture, of course, the companies will do absolutely none of this sadly. Profit over people reigns true no matter what industry you look at.

When they first formed in 2000, they were a combined company selling 2 brands. Yet since 2007, both brands are not as much merged as they used to be but still share automotive technology for both brands (Engines, Car Platforms, etc.). Their cars don't appear similar, but they both have similar equipment due to the still-existing alliance. Though both brands now classify themselves as a separate entity by brand (Hyundai Motors and Kia Motors) in Europe, South America, and North America, the alliance that formed the Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group still exists to this date in South Korea (now known simply as Hyundai Motor Group).
