Small Closet Organization - How create more storage and keep it tidy! 

Don't feel bad, Abby. I'm 38 and have bought replacements for clothes I thought I lost only to find them buried deep in the closet, the trunk of my car, on the shelf above the dryer, etc. Definitely important to be organized.

I have been laughing so much with every item she forgot she had! 😂 She is so easy going, I love it!! Can you do another video a few months later to show what worked and what didn’t in the kids closets? And how to adjust during seasons?

My son designed a closet that I turned into a mini office. We took off the doors, removed the track on the floor and placed my desk inside. He then put in Elfa shelves above the desk. It came out great and allowed the room to have space for a double bed and a crib. Now that my grandson is out of the crib we removed it and now he has plenty of space to play when he comes over and I still have an office space.

I came for the closet makeover I stayed for the story. You have the best stories

I LOVE this closet design. We have had Elfa systems throughout our home for over a decade, including taking them from our old home to the new. They are incredibly durable! Also, that story w your neighbor was hilarious!

I completely cleaned out a couple of closets in my house last year and the system I came up with seems to be working because they’re pretty tidy to this day! But you gave me some ideas for drawer storage which I hadn’t considered before. 🤔 Thanks for the ideas. I’m a 🐝 so you can imagine most everything I’ve done so far is very visual. Lesser used items are okay for drawer storage but labels would be helpful. I laugh when your daughter gets excited about items she forgot she had because going through my closets in the past has been like opening up a treasure chest for me. 💎 🤣

Toy Story is so real! My sisters and I felt that way about our stuffed animals, and we grew up way before Pixar was even a twinkle in somebody's eye. It is very hard to part with the beloved toys you believe are, in a way, alive. Great video!

Loved watching you two together, I could tell you were having fun with this project! Don't feel bad Abby, my husband also completely forgets about the existence of items he can't see. Even stuff in the fridge that I made for him 2 days ago lol. Haha the mud mask story made me laugh. A couple months ago I decided to dye hair and with it piled on my head under a plastic shower cap, I'm in old pj's that I didn't mind getting dye stains on. When the UPS driver showed up with some equipment for my new job, I didn't know was being delivered that day 😳 I had to go outside to open the gate for him and sign for the boxes. All I could do was apologize for my appearance and explain I was dyeing my hair. Haha

I’ve been home recovering from surgery. Found your channel and binge-watched! (including all the hot mess house episodes)! So I emptied every kitchen cabinet, just going to town, thinking “I’ve got this!” Now I look all around, surrounded by, and upto my eyeballs in, the explosion of kitchen EVERYthing, and I want to cry, I’m so overwhelmed. I think I may just grab the car keys and move. Now. 😱 🤦‍♀️ (Cass, you make it look so easy!)

Elfa systems are the BEST. I have 4 separate areas in my craft room where I have them, plus my linen closet (which I use for everything under the sun except linens).

We live out in the country and if I wanted to, I could run around in back of the house naked. The downside is that occasionally your neighbors' cows get out and go trotting through your yard to visit some other cattle in the neighborhood. I just painted the inside of my closet and today was the day to put things back in again. Commented to my mother how I wished I could get some cute containers and then watched this video - serious closet envy here! 😉

I feel her, I'm 36 and feel the same exact way. If it gets hidden away it's gone, doesn't exist, and I'm just as excited to remind it as I was when I first bought it.

Cas, that last bit cracked me up because I had an incident with my elderly male neighbor too! I waved to him from my porch as he was walking his very clean dog. To make conversation, I hollered "do you groom your dog yourself?" But he didn't hear me, so he says "what?" And to make it easier for him to understand and without thinking I hollered "DO YOU GROOM YOURSELF?" while pointing to his dog. And THANK GOD he didn't hear me again but he heard me the third time as I was able to correct my question with "groom your dog, do you do that yourself?" As he answered referring me to a dog grooming company who's name I can't recall now, I waved goodbye and went back into the house to roll onto the floor and die from embarrassment. And no one else heard me or knows this story but a couple relatives and NOW, the rest of the world. Thanks for the laugh and the reminder! ha! Love your channel!

You and your daughter are so cute together! Makes me miss my mom so much (who passed away after a battle with severe COVID pneumonia)… we did so many organization projects together. 😢 Of course I am a butterfly and mom was a cricket who liked everything hidden away so her projects made me a little frustrated as a kid 🙈 buuut I still miss doing them with her. ❤️ Also, I would LOVE an Elfa storage solution like that. So dreamy. I moved in with my widowed dad and I still haven’t figured out how to fit all my stuff in this place so I can really stay organized (especially since we’re still working around a lot of mom’s stuff too, and I am going through cancer treatment… overwhelming.) I love those mesh drawers especially! So cool!

Just had a very localized "earthquake" in our closet resulting in everything on the floor. Now deciding how to make a minimally functional closet perform better. I did that to my father once,lol. In our family of six, when there was a heavy rainstorm during the night, whoever woke up first was charged with lowering the windows in our three bedroom apartment ( we had about 17 windows). Our best times were when, unbeknownst to each other, two of us woke up at the same time and scared the daylights out of one another in the dark!
