Small downwind on Lake Michigan 

I spent a couple of weeks in June 2024 paddling on Lakes Michigan and Superior. This brief clip was shot on Lake Michigan near Charlevoix, Michigan, on June 19. I'm trying to keep my boat moving in small downwind conditions. We all daydream about the big stuff, where you can stop paddling and just ride for minutes at a time. But one thing I've noticed about elite ocean surfski athletes is that they get maximum help from the little bumps, too. I am most definitely NOT elite, but I think working in conditions like those of this video provides some really good practice.
