Who does not love small engine maintenance in the sweltering summer heat? Be it a Briggs and Stratton, Tecumseh, Lifan, Honda, or something unique they all run in a similar way, either 4 stroke or 2 stroke sucking in an air and fuel mixture via a carburetor!
Often found on garden machinery which can be quite seasonal in their use, they can be a little cranky when waking up after a few months of hibernation!
In this case I have a Hayter heavy duty push-along strimmer, Craftsman chipper, Far east generator and an MTD ride on to get going. Fortunately the other small tools I have already been using so they were ok with a prime and the right fuel blend (2 stroke). The Honda based cutter was easy enough to start after I banged its air filter out, its got quite the appetite for air, and being low and close to the dusty action needs to be cleaned every couple of hours. Other than that, very impressed with the Honda.
