st. augustine distillery is a great spot to visit if you get a chance. their stuff isn't mind-blowing or anything (even though i do personally enjoy most of them), but their processes and how much they care about what they do and how they do it is great.
Yellowstone is from Limestone Branch Distillery. The master distiller is a Beam but that product comes out of Lebanon KY. Great distillery to tour if you ever have a chance. Cheers 🥃
I had a great bourbon haul this weekend. I was able to pick up a Blanton’s Gold Store Pick $179, Old Forrester Single Barrel 100 Store Pick $89, Hardin’s Creek Clermont $170, Eagle Rare Single Barrel Store Pick $65, and Corazon Tequila Expressions George T. Stagg Anejo $80.
I bought a New Riff single barrel at 113.4 proof and wasn’t impressed, so it sat for a while. I finally tried it again and now I can’t stop drinking it. Great video. I wish I could find the Four Roses single barrel, barrel strength.
Man, that OESQ at the door! Wish it was a little older than 9 year. Nice pickup on the Benchmark, great bottle for the price. And looking forward to sipping my FL 🦬 🥃
@@Bourbon_HunterI went there and tried that four roses and it was dynamite. $109 but hey. Picked me up the Russell 10 year at Shores…great value there. Good content
@@Bourbon_Hunter the HV WP 10 is one of the best middle ester rum releases habitation velier has done. Hampden 8 is a great moderate age low ester rum. The pere labat on that sale rack is a really nice rum Agricole which is made from cane juice rather than molasses like the other two mentioned. Makes me want to go to Florida for rum lol HV is basically the top line rum brand along with kill devil.
Alert! Also you passed up on Blue Note 9yr (where the Allocated Bottles), Blue Note Uncut Unfiltered Store Pick! I would urge you to pick up those bottles.
I was able to try a sample of that New England barrel select cask strength a couple weeks ago when I was up to New Hampshire. The owner was doing tastings at one of the liquor stores up there. It was really good, he had another one that was lower proof, but my choice would’ve been that Cask strength.
BH!!! Damn, I wish I knew you were in my hometown!! You visited 3 of my 5 honey holes. Glad you found ur Sagamore 8 year. I must have just missed you cause I picked up 2 of those BT store picks a week ago.
We just left Golden ox store bc of this video, we got the buffalo trace barrel pick, peerless double oaked for 79.99 and they also had a 1792 full proof pick for 59.99 that we picked up but the best part was the owner was in house and next door has a bourbon bar were they had everything you can dream of, had a pour of Elijah Craig C923, best experience I’ve had at a liquor store hands down
You found one of my honey holes in Jacksonville, Florida for store picks. Let me know when you are coming back and I’ll show you a couple more great spots. 🥃
Great video. Hopefully you can make your way down to the Tampa/St. Pete area. Tons of great spots to find bourbons and whiskeys. At Sam’s Club, you can find RR10 for low $20 range and HH BiB for low $30 range.
The 6 yr 100% malted rye from New Riff is excellent. They had a great price on B-trace. I didn't see the sticker either fir the store pick. I tell people it's harder than you think to spot everything when looking through the back of a camera. My biggest question is how are they selling Costco's Kirkland SiB special release🤔😆
Tiny Liquor Store right down the street from my house in Largo,FL has all that. I think most of the liquor stores in florida have them. Visit ABC Spirts in Florida also.
I'll be touring the distillery in April when we go on vacation down there. I went there in 2021 and they didn't have many offerings. I'm ready to try everything they have now. Especially their finished stuff.
Nulu named based on Louisville yet the bourbon isn’t even distilled in KY. Seems a little deceptive. Same thing with Kentucky 10, based on being the 10th distillery and not 10 years old.
😂 when you 1st picked up the BiB Sag I was saying get it but dammit grab that 8 yr 😂😂 I am back in FL for the week but no time to hunt this time so picked up the last bottles needed for my Benchmark vertical as not sold in New England. So blind vertical with friends happening soon. All stores out of stock of the Sagamore 8yr, Rum cask, Sherry & BiB where I am. Young man, you need to step up your game a bit and explore some good Irish whiskey. Last two tastings I did with my bourbon group and friends was Irish. Did a Redbreast vertical and a Writers Tears (including limited editions). Next tasting the member who got to decide picked Glenfiddich 12 , 15, 18 & 21. So will be fresh cracking all of them my next hosting turn. So many great whiskies around the globe. Have a rye and a limited edition Redbreast vertical planned this year as well. Just had a Sagamore tasting at members home and damn was it fantastic. He had so many distillery only and limited runs. Keep up the great vids Hunter. Enjoy watching your whiskey journey my friend.
Stop at brown bag at the Florida Georgia border, Georgia side. Great store picks, got a bottle of fiddler toasted last time I was there and they had fiddler store picks as well
Random, but watched some of your videos after this one because I stumbled across it on Jax bourbon page. What year did you graduate USC? I'm a 2012 grad.
You saved yourself some money on the Chattanooga Cab finish. Wasnt very good IMO. Those 1792 BIB are tasty, I dont have a store pick though which I heard are a bit better. Glad you found the 8 yr Sagamore. Those are pretty rare, still haven’t seen one in GA.
The New Riff Malred Rye "Is the Way". Single Barrel's or Balboa Rye are the next option. I promisebyou. I have sampled or own just about every New Riff. I've been on multiple tours as well. The Malted Rye is the one.
Went hunting once I saw the vid. I am further south, so those shops are out of my way. Got myself the BT store pick at Ox and they had the new Travellers also. Gonna try the Sagamore also.
Buffalo Trace doubled their production 4 years ago, Sazarac, Weller SR, Buffalo Trace, and a few others are coming of age and stores can get all they want now. Secondary prices are falling like a stone because scalpers can't buy it all. All their products will be available everywhere in a few years as they come of age.
I've long felt that even before that the whole idea of scarcity was carefully encouraged by the industry. It's not hard to do. The allocated bourbon insanity will end badly for the distilleries IMHO. And obviously for the speculators and "investors" (hoarders). I don't begrudge any of them 😎
Great video! I'm going up to the New Riff distillery in two weeks, and I live in the Charleston area. If you want a bottle let me know. I'll have some extras to trade, because It is so hard to find here.
man this video really brings to light how pricey all bourbon has become local distillery stuff and new company stuff should not be on the shelf for 60+$
Burris liquor on meeting st. In Charleston had a buffalo trace single barrel last week. I picked up a bottle. Not sure if they still have it. But worth trying
I was just there last weekend and went to Riverside and Shores Liquor, a different one than you did and they had a RR13 for a bit over MSRP that i snagged.
It’s easy to find hard to get allocated stuff. But I’m not paying 200 for weller 107 and 200 for JD10. Buffalo trace is like 50 here. They can keep it all at those prices. Much better stuff out there to drink.
Another great bottle at the second store on your video was Garrison brothers cowboy bourbon. It was next to the new riff you were looking at. Pricey but a great experience different from Kentucky bourbon.
The best Texas Bourbons are amazing. The rarest bottle was the Laguna Madre by Garrison Brothers and I may take the ride for it. It's only released every 2 years at 3500 bottles or less.
I would have grabbed two of Russell’s 10 for that price, but I am down to bottle kill point on the one I have. Nice grabs the sagamore is great, I love their port finish and I picked up a “Select Reserve” that is a Maple Cherry Cask Finish (a six-year rye finished in a maple barrel and a five-year rye finished in a cherry brandy barrel so two barrels total for the release) they call it Cherry Pancakes and it is very good.
