You guys need to invest in tire chains would push through the snow way easier

Glad to see that the V blade was easily repaired & back in action. Always good to see neighbors working together on a common goal. Keep up the good work there.

Not gonna lie plowing snow for me is therapeutic I enjoy moving lots of snow we got hit hard up here in Alaska. I just got a 14ft snowpusher for my loader and I'm very pleased with how much quicker I can get my property cleared.

Hello Blake! Wow, that is a lot of snow. Well, maybe but certainly in the drifts. Seems like the piles on the one down-wind side of the road are trapping and gaining the drifts. I agree, the is where a snowblower shines. Blow the snow with the wind and the snow in that path is gone... mostly. Thank you for sharing this video Blake. Much appreciated!

Thanks for a new video. It has been a while since you last one. Good job getting the road opened.

25yrs. As snow removal for a hyw. Dist. First thing l would do is invest in a set of tire chains and put your bucket back on. Your not heavy enough for a six way in that kind of situation

Tire chains and get your snow pushed back to get your road widened. Push it clear off past the bar ditch on the down wind side.

I always liked the snowblower on my Dad's 2094 JICase 109 hp tractor in Alberta, Canada. It did not leave the banks.

Ever thought about cutting down an old grain auger into an open face snow shifter. The last foot of or 18" of flutes removed and an angled plate with a hole thru it for the shaft to pass thru to move the snow to the side.

Thanks for another great video. Well you guys are certainly giving it a good try while being out gunned with small machines and way to much snow. It kinda sounds to me if you can't get that snow out of there in that deep areas you know what's going to happen next time, yeah it's then 4ft deep and getting worse. We deal with this most snowy winters up here in Manitoba. I'd be talking to the land owners where that snows coming off the fields and if the snows deep enough about 100 ft out in the fields plow a few snow ridges parallel to the road and try catch it before it gets to the road. There is quite a few areas the highways department have done it so far round here on our main 10 highway north and south and farmers will do it on their drives as well. Good luck guys winters not over yet !

Agree, I'm over on North end of Hwy 6, 5.5' of snow so far this winter. Last few winters we topped out at just over 8'. Best wishes all.

We do that in Maine all the time, snow drift breaks work well. Capture it before it gets to the road!
@oldretireddude
@oldretireddude Год назад
Have you thought about mapping out the repeat drifting areas and maybe installing snow fence/corn cribbing in the upwind fields adjacent to the road? Maybe that could capture most of the snow before it gets to the road.

In Wyoming the wind is likely to blow from another direction and ruin your plans. Remember we can have 80 mph winds that really foul things up.

Wow, I have been following you now for a couple years or so and you sure get hammered in the winter. I can remember as a young lad growing up in Southern Ontario Canada in the late 1940's and 50's with snow like this. Didn't have the equipment like you but some how got through it. Thanks for a great video, I sure enjoyed it.

I agree tire chain sure make all the difference..I keep a set on my slid steer all winter....now for the heavy blown in snow I break out the big guns...either my d6 or my d8 cat dozers

Looks like you got plenty of snow! I'm over in Idaho, and ended up going with a pull-behind snowblower. Clears the road fairly well, but we still ended up needing a dozer to come in to break up the ice, since we needed to get a backhoe up there. Went through a ton of shear bolts on the blower too, since our road has a lot of fist-sized rocks in it. Definitely ready for spring.

If you have the hydraulic flow a front blower for that loader it would be a great investment.

When snow drifts like this, it is more like trying to plow sand. fine thick and heavy.

Just some advice from being a snow plow driver You're plowing wrong You want to move the right side first and then move the left side over and then the rest of it over to the right side instead of the way you're doing it left to right it goes right left right I know you're double backtracking but that's the best way to do it so that way it's not so much load on the machine

Being in Saskatchewan, I can relate to snow and wind. My half mile driveway blows in like crazy. I use a rear blower and loader mounted blade. Being in Wyoming, I really don't understand why you don't have a blower. Keep the berms low to make the snow keep on truckin'.

Seems to me for as long as you have lived out there you would see the advantage of a snow blower to blow that crap away from the road. A blade will only do so much they you are stuck no place to push snow
