For those wondering why Bart didn't just phase through the glass as he does in the comics you've got to bare in mind this is a very young version of Impulse. Smallville does go out of it's way to mention the fact that as far as Bart knows his only power is super speed and he attained it by getting struck by lightning. The "Speed Force" or how to "Phase Shift" through objects is just something he hasn't learned yet.
@@starboys3407 Yeah, and funny story I read the Smallville Season 10 comic and they added once major detail in the Flashback of this scene and that was the fact Bart could see a "Black Racer" running outside the glass dome. It's revealed that this, is Black Flash whom ultimately ends up pursuing Bart to his death... and also, kicks the shit out of Clark as well for intervening.
@@Akechi_The_Phantom_Detective Yeah in SV's universe Bart took out Black Racer but sacrificed himself in doing so. The phasing and some other abilities he lacked due to inexperience but speed wise he was easily the fastest live version of Flash or a speedster we've seen. In the comics he ran around the Earth a ton of times in seconds...kind of ridiculous, IIRC he did use his speed steal for that so it was cool how the comics showed he did do more than on the show. The comics were cool, sucks they had to kill Bart like that though.
@Anonymousturtlelover I am still pissed that the Smallville Comics did more justice to what The Black Flash is supposed to be than The Flash`s own show did!
Originally Bart was running to stop the pain from the torture, but after straining himself (bleeding from the nose), Black Flash arrived because Bart was running too fast (a common thing with speedsters running too fast is they vanish into the speed force for their death)
Lex is a true Monster! His change in Smallville is depicted so well that you feel sorry for him but at the same time you hate him! Damn Smallville was nice!
I'm guessing Bart hasn't learned how to vibrate his molecules yet, also another option could be to run along the side of the cage with only enough speed to stay on the walls.
Aspie Freethinker I think the point is - would he have thought of that though? Not that he couldn't or even hadn't - we've seen this Flash run on water already - but that he wasn't practiced enough to have *all options* in mind.
It was confirmed in the follow up comics that Bart didn't have full access to the speed force until this scene, when Bart starts bleeding from his nose, Black Flash is circling around the cage as a blur to even Bart and waiting for Bart to die or at least waiting to get its hands on him Without full access to the speed force and the knowledge of its speedster benefits as you described, speedsters cannot do these things So all Bart was able to do was run, he didn't have the time to learn any byproduct abilities (phasing and wall running)
The guy that plays Earth3 Flash said that there were talks to have Bart appear in the show. My guess would be next season but sooner the better i suppose
He was being electructed, the body would've sent his muscle into a spasm and as he's a speedster, his muscles would've reacted in superspeed, then add in the fact that Lex knowing Bart was special with moving fast, he'd have the cage set to a minimum speed requirement (Like the movie "speed" with the bus) Bart couldn't walk even if he wanted to, and people can only remain verticle for so long before tiredness sets in Ever went walking and when you get home your legs and feet just ache and you crave to sit down Same thing, bart was fucked regardless if he ran or walked
You saying you can walk, step-for-step, faster than a millisecond? I highly doubt that. You THINK you would have outsmarted Lex’s trap, until you quickly realized your slow pace would have gotten you fried, then you would have frantically started running.
@@Voysh2Voysh69 yup, Lex knew there was a minimum speed (movie "speed" of with the bus) as Lexs mansion cameras couldn't detect barts movements when he stole from Lex, so much like how Clark was caught speeding on camera in season 1, Lex would've known someone of extraordinary speed could've only avoided detection Sure it would've been nice to see Lexs restrictions come into play (walk speed, jogging to a full sprint only to see the floor stop), however as the viewer we just need to remind ourselves that Lex is smart enough with science that he would have set restrictions After he learned of Arthur's water abilities, Lex refused to give him water even to drink when normally Lex gives his enemies drinks (when lionels goonies did a spy report on Lex, Lex gave the guy a drink who then woke up in Lexs car)
You don't necessarily have to be connected to the speed force to phase through solid matter. However you must have control over EVERY single molecule in your body in order to phase
@apollonas101 impulse was bart allen. He was never apart of the JLA. He was the flash for like fifteen issues and then he was beaten to death. I wouldn't say impulse has more of a limit than the flash though. Bart allen seens more thoroughly connected to the speed force than a lot of the flashes.
robinraeburne technically he was. He was born it, raised by it, consumed by it. Lol he was literally born in it. His body grew faster than his own age because of it and they had to slow him down or he'd die physically before mentally
@Jedistarship no becuz if he stops for 1 millisecond it will fry him. a millisecond is 1/1000 of a second u have to be running at a superhuman speed in order to avoid that
i am so glad lex is alive. they revealed it in season 9. i had a feeling he was still alive. either someone will go back in time with the legion ring, he somehow escaped from being blown up, he is cloned or the person who died in the car was a clone. or maybe genetically altered. ps bart needs a new outfit and hairstyle
I didnt notice this till just now but couldn't he have ran at a slower pace in the middle where the glass is? I dont think the pressure plates having anything to do with gravity, Lex didnt say gravity plating. He could have lasted way longer than he did if he ran the center!
Actually Clark and to an extent Superman didn't need speed to save him. Along with X-Ray vision, Clark had telescopic so he could simply aim himself where Bart was going to be.
Shanethefilmmaker But with telescopic vision he still needed the speed in order to place himself at the exact place at the exact time otherwise Bart would've combusted running into an unmovable dense object like Clark
@johnjinyoung No your not understanding what I'm saying. He could have ran slower at the mid section of the glass not the middle of the floor. The midsection of the glass would have never shocked him only the floor. You know how motorcycles use centrifical force to ride around in those Globes, same prinicipal. Flash didnt have to even touch the floor. He could have easily ran up that in less than a milisecond. Guess the writers didnt realize this!!!
This is Bart's top speed? Okay how much miles per hour was he going there because that doesn't look faster than CW Flash. btw the part where he screams in agony sounds like a muffled quick and high-pitched 'gaht dayum' meme sound effect
They actually do use that world a few times on the show. Chole once said you can kiss my ass and another time this metero freak told Clark she was kicking his ass
I'm confused is bart flash or impulse. Impulse is a person who was born with his powers and is wally west grand son from the future who went back in time. And his name is bart Flash is someone who was sruck by lightneg to get his powers whis name is bart allen Bart was sruck by lightneg to get his powers. But is called impusle and his name is bart. Eather bart is lying about how he got his powers or the creaters of smallville didn't do there reaserch on the flash and impulse.
If I remember right Bart was trying to steal information from a computer terminal at the 33.1 Lab but of course, it was a trap and he got knocked out. I can't remember if he was electrocuted or tranq'd it was one or the other.
@Lywillkickyourass It's cool you remembered that, I have Michael's portrayal of Wally to thank for the start of my major affinity for The Flash. However, Kyle didn't really steal his role, one is a cartoon & one is live action, it wasn't even the same version, obviously Kyle was Bart & Michael was Wally. Also, Michael had the role of Lex, so why complain when he is on the show more? Finally, the actors aren't the characters. I realize you were joking, but it just didn't make much sense to me.
+Alli Song (Gallifrey) Yes but my phone is being a pain and I can't look in the description. So could you just tell me. Well it kinda doesn't matter now anyway so.
+Alli Song (Gallifrey) Plus I need the numbers of the episode and season as well as the name. I saw it once when my phone was working, but I forgot, and also I needed the numbers not the name.
This is really young Bart, he doesn't have knowledge of the Speed Force or how to manipulate it yet. As far as he is concerned he has Super Speed that he got because he was struck by lightning.
I thought the Flash could run so fast that he could actually run THROUGH objects? If so, why can't he just run through the glass wall caging him? That glass looks like he could probably just smash through it.
