Smallville was a great series. Timeless TV.

I love how he got his revenge on those bullies, including his father. Pity it was short lived though and they survived to tell the tale.

Smallville super speed and strength are so solid for effects even for todays tv standards.

God i love Smallville. Every student looked 35 and they genuinely used U2 on their soundtrack unironically. Might have to start a rewatch.

Fun fact: The plot involving a lightning and a Kryptonian giving powers to a normal human dates back to the early 90’s live action series “Lois and Clark, The New Adventures of Superman” where the incident gives kryptonian powers to a young boy who was travelling on a plane that was flying near Superman during a storm. He claimed he was the son of Superman. In 1997 the same plot was used to create Livewire for the Animated Series. Finally, it was reused for Smallville with the addition of Kryptonite as a medium. Later in comics we come to know that when exposed to the radiation of a Blue Star, a Kryptonian can naturally bestow kryptonian powers to humans. Livewire is the only known case where the process does not bestow kryptonian powers, but in the story arc Superman Blue/Superman Red Clark loses his solar powers in favour of electric powers. As also Jon Kent, his son, recently gained electric powers, this may be a latent genetic trait that kicked in when Livewire got her powers from Supes.

Cool fact. Eric is played by Shawn Ashmore, who is the twin brother of Aaron Ashmore who played Jimmy Olsen in later seasons of the show

That energy ripple on Clark chest as the lightning strikes is the field itself protecting him, and why the energy travelled to Eric is the Electric current being deflected by Clark's natural bio-field lol Granted they prolly just didn't have a spare shirt to burn a hole into, but the lore itself explains why his clothes sometimes doesn't get fucked up.

The problem with this is Shazam should basically just fly into Superman and amplify his own power by stealing Superman powers and keep in mind not all Kryptonian is weak against Kryptonite so maybe Shazam would be invulnerable to Kryptonite or at least to lightning lool
