I'm not familiar with Fabfilter, but I have heard nothing bad. I can do that ducking technique using normal compression, but smart:comp takes it up a notch IMO, since it uses something like 2000 bands of dynamic processing if I remember correctly.
@@SPLMixing Yeah it pretty much can do the same thing as this plugin does. I only own the Pro-Q because their stuff is pricey. I'm saving up for a few others but don't need most of them.
The UI is fantastic, the Spectral sidechain compression, wirh the option to set the frequency range it works on. But also the free form option to set the compression, and the options to set the curves for attack (love the hold...) and release.
