@@ArtisansofVaul You've EARNED every compliment that's come your way from everybody my friend. This is off topic, but I have to say that you've done a great job at brand-theming (not sure if that's a term) your thumbnails. We can tell it's one of your vids without reading anything. That's not easy to do right out of the gate! I've only recently found you as I've re-entered the Blender-verse. I'm do CAD work as a Manufacturing Designer at my day job, but have had this creative itch that needs scratching as I've gotten into 3D printing. I used Blender at another job probably 15+ years ago, but it was really a struggle to grasp with the GUI workflow it had back then even though my project turned out great. I modeled a blunderbuss in Blender and used another program called ArtCAM to make some swords and bought a tall ship model of the Sovereign of the Seas from the mid-1800's. All that I programmed and carved on a CNC mill out of cherry and it all came together to make this awesome fireplace mantel for the customer. Blender has really come a long way in recent years and I enjoyed those kind of creative projects. I am designing HVAC equipment and programming sheet metal punches and brakes. It's just really sterile. What I wouldn't give to be able to work from home and model stuff that I actually enjoy making. Easier said than done, I know. Anyways, I have been watching you through a smart TV for several months that isn't logged in, hence why I've never started interacting till recently. I happened to notice you were really just starting out and felt like you need the support. I want to see you keep making content, as do others, so I figured showing your channel some algo-lovin' was a good way to ensure that. LOL I'll be that annoying regular for sure! Well, hopefully regular and not so annoying.😆 Sorry for the long post... I need to go binge watch a lot of your older vids that I haven't yet gotten to so I can get caught up. Thanks again for the great vids, the replies, and you seem like a good human being to boot. Cheers!
@mattspawn1975 Thanks man. Yeah Blender of old looked like a bit of a pain to use, I'm glad I started after the big change around as it feels like a much nicer place now. Cheers for watching through lots of videos. I hope they will be helpful and it's always nice to see someone commenting and enjoying the content so feel free, it's never annoying 😁👍🏻 I hope you enjoy the 3D printing. Resin or filament? It's a really fun hobby all on it's own, and like Blender the printers seem to be progressing so quickly!
@@ArtisansofVaulI just started with FDM, but looking for an excuse to throw resin in the mix. I've also been dragging my feet jumping on the high speed FDM printers. I prefer the open source ones over the lockdown X1C. So just kind of letting things shake out before I make the plunge. I don't really have a need for anything more at the moment TBH. I have an old CR10 V1 that my brother gave me and snagged an Ender 3 Pro for $99 from Micro Center. I've upgraded the MOBO on the CR-10 and use that to get comfortable compiling my own firmware. Did a couple upgrades on the Ender but nothing major. Your stuff definitely lends it to resin. Aside from YT, you have a business selling prints I'm guessing?
@mattspawn1975 I REALLY need to try some FDM printing but I'm concerned about the amount of "tinkering" it seems to require. No printing business for me, I'm actually a teacher in my "real" life. 3D design is just a hobby.
5:25 I don't have any hotkey changes from the default Machin3 Tools, but when I use CTRL+2 I get a good old fashioned destructive Bevel. The non-destructive Korean Bevel only exists for me in SHIFT+2 and choosing the last option in the "Adjust Last Operation (F9)" panel. Perhaps this is a change the folks at Machin3 made since you made the tutorial a year ago. So I just thought I would update for anyone watching who was unclear. Thanks for the great tutorials, sir!
That should work, it's a standard shortcut for Machin3 Tools. Does nothing happen or does it do something else and are you definetly in the right edit mode?
i use mac keyboard and its working if i push the fn button with ctrl but im using a keyboard with numpad and its not working i try combination with shortcut nothing work@@ArtisansofVaul
Well, rotating edges is "old thing" - You should take in hands "The Pushing Points Topology Workbook: Volume 01" by William C Vaughan - just for some clarification. Good work! Thank You.
