I own a Smart Forfour 1.3 with a manual gearbox. Mileage 300,000 kilometers. During this time, there was no serious breakdown, only the repair of the chassis due to bad roads. The car is driven in Ukraine.
I have a standard one of these - 2007 Smart Forfour 1.3 5 speed manual. NZ new. Awesome car to drive. Feels solid on the road, peppy enough, handles well. 149,000 kms and still going well.
Yeah they can get pretty serious power out of 1.5's these days. I recently swapped my CM2 for a FC1 Sedan, and that L15B7 can be tuned to 220hp/330nm without bolt-ons, more than a stock K24. 250 horsepower if you replace the intercooler, intake and exhaust manifold. Only with the manual though, the CVT starts to buckle above 300nm.
Wonder what's up with this one, mine has zero rattles, close to 200k km. I had a Clio 172 with half the km and rattles everywhere lol Such an underrated car
The problem now is getting body and trim parts as there are not many around. I was thinking the other day driving mine on road works "If I get a stone through the windscreen would I even be able to get a windscreen?"
