Just got a 1.5cdi OM639 with 70kw, automatic transmission. Rear bench can move so much to the point where people in the back sit more comfrotably then in a C class. Driving is very smooth in the city over all the potholes. Can go on open road as well due to a higher horse power diesel engine. Uses 4L of diesel. Awesome home to work car
i got the 1.5 Passion with 109hp from 2005, it has 300k km and still works like it was new thanks to a very gentle caring given by me and its earlier owner (who was a garage owner). The car is really fun to drive with great accelerations, amazing breaks and everyone who's testing it is always so happy to drive something that reminds older cars (my brother even compared the Forfour with tears coming out from his eyes to his now-burried Renault R5 Turbo XD). Tbh, I thaught i would have this car for just 2 or 3 years but now i love it so much i hope it will last forever.
At this point of ForFours life the probable near future reapirs are if they have not been done yet: Wheel bearings (all corners) last 100 - 200 tkm. Exhaust might need entire replacement soon depending are roads salted during winter. TVA (Throttle Valve Actuator) might need replacement or manual cleaning insides by driling out metal rivets holding it together and relubing moving parts. Airbags should be replaced because they're at end of their life and cannot be quaranteed to work anymore (soon 20 years old for first units).
Mine is being treated like a girl and it has already 5 years with me now...I only managed changing from 1.3 to 1.5 engine, from r14 to r15 and from AMT to Manual Gearbox 3 years later... Why? I was using to travel with it, and on every speed bumpers it was crashing from the exaust...and the clutch actuator has broken twice (2020 and 2021). I love it just love it like the first time I saw it.
