On this episode, I need to fix the Smart before going back at the track. Then I need to learn how to drive it and it's harder then it looks! 😅 For project plans: Website: 57design.ca OR Etsy: www.etsy.com/ca/shop/VinyB57d...
OMG "Chinesium Coilovers". As always, this video is super impressive and massively underrated. Love the Smart Busa, love the video editing and most of all, love the thought process throughout. Keep up the great work!
As a french speaking guy from Belgium, i always crack up when you switch to your canadian accentuated french with "cette Saloperie" :'D Happy that you met your childhood Hero, and that little track car is sick !
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! LET'S GO FRANCISCO!!!! Don't forget the YT channel and all the videos on the build, you've got you're first subscriber, right here! 🙋♂️
Sounds like a friend of mine freakin crazy bout this I told him buy a 2020ish Corvette and have LMR Late Modell Racing put 850 hp package on it fully streetable rocket!
Glad to see everything moving in the right direction and thanks for the video and all the hard work you continue to put into this beast I know it will work out such a cool project and thank you for not giving up on it I know it has to cost a shit load of money and time.
Hey man, it's my pleasure to share that experience with you, thanks for watching and commenting it! I'm 11k CAD$ into the build and 2 solid years on building time, only week-ends and evenings!
Damn Viny, that was an awesome save! 👌 and I say congratulations on your build, to survive the track and nothing broke! Well except the rear view mirror 🤣🤣🤣
quick tip on the cv joints that have a center bolt whose hole goes into the joint itself, you can use a socket (or other suitable size metal pipe etc) as a spacer in that hole and use the center bolt to pull it off the axle, like a built in puller.
Very cool. Snap over-steer is soooo much fun. One second your happy, then not happy at all. My supercharged MR2 AW11, did the same thing. Funfunfun :):):)
Time to take the Smartbusa on a road trip. I bet you could do collabs with a handful of other channels. The Hoonigan guys would love to see this in their yard. I bet you would hit 100K after a few collabs. Try Superfastmatt too.
Yeah... that could be really nice, but I'm still working full time....so a road trip is out of the question for now, don,t have the time and don't have that have enough of that youtube money😅! But you,re right tho, I should reach out to superfastmatt...I don,t even know if he knows that I exist...but I'm a big fan! Thanks for the comment Steven 🤙
New subscriber from Las Vegas Nevada love that smart car I wish I could find one already converted with that same motor in it and tow it behind our RV lol. Have a awesome day my friend.
Hey ti-gui from the West! C'est ce que mon gars dit...c'est la smart la plus vite du monde...bon p-t pas, mais elle risque de le devenir avec les année....et toi..comment va ta carriere youtube...avec ta dernière question sur le 1000subs...
Great video Vinnie ! Glad you finally had a good day at the track ! Don’t know why you don’t have the smart Busa licensed for the road ! Be an awesome road car and a real surprise for unsuspecting civic drivers!!! 😂
I just bought a little scion iq and have been tossing the idea of, shall we say, upgrading it. Haha! Loved the video and the inspiration it is giving me! Have you driven this little beast at Mosport yet (Canadian Tire Motorsport Park)? It would absolutely smash the DDT there!
Hey thanks McCoy...For now, the Smart is far from ready for bigger events... Regarding your ''upgrading'' questionning, well if you really, really, really wanna do it...well just do it... but if you're not sure..DON'T! It's an insane amount of work and a not such a good platform to start up with..😅
Baring in mind I can't wire up a plug with out you tube You saying your not a machanic gives me hope 😂😂 Great to watch your childhood dreams come true .... welldone sir
@@VinyB57 My mate has solid models of one he designed if you'd like to cut (or have someone cut) your own, he'll only charge a small fee for the models :-)
Do you was able to check max speed or horsepower? I'm owing a smart 451 CDI with a legal street license called Smartonator! Runs up to 170km/h and about 85hp. At about 3000rmp at 130km/h for long distance chilling driving. Brought it 8 years ago with 11.000km, tuned it and now I'm on 180.000km and the car runs well. Tires was a problem, most start to wobble at about 140km/h after 20.000km. But I found the right one for the front from Uniroyal. Amazing smooth at all speeds and grippy at rain also. Anyway.. Really like to see your next part on track!
Super vidéo encore une fois: Give a try at rev-matching when downshifting.(a bit harder in a car to heel and toe then on a bike with only a quick wrist mouvement). Your non synchronized dog engagement gear motorcyle transmission will thank you ;)
Spending $350 to replace a part that’s not broken… Ouch! Haha Btw again a video with insanely good quality! Can’t imagine how much time you spend on a video.
Hey thanks Lars... I may have cleaned and returned the stator...I may...🤫 It takes arounds 1.5 to 2 hours per minutes of editing for each videos I upload. You do the math...😉
Kind save it? You did save it, amazinlgy so. 👏👏 Great to see a new episode and a success. Yes chinesium shocks with fake piggyback reservoir need to go, but of course *money money money* Once replaced them could you safely cut the piggyback to confirm or deny that's fake and unconnected to the main body?
Dude, there's 2 of you who suggested to cut them...wanted to save them for another (way smaller project)..but wonder now..🤔 Maybe I'll cut them just to see! 🤷♂️
@@VinyB57 Mind-hive effect or maybe it stems from seeing certain big shill channels promoting crap products and comparing them to proper shocks, or even saying they are better and safer than brand names. Nothing to do with your awesome and sadly not huge channel. Thank you for answering.
Have you considered going the dry sump route? Bike engines are design to lean on corners, putting it on a car prevents it and the oil splashes around away from the pickup. This is a huge problem, especially on track with long corners where just a few seconds of oil starvation will ruin that awesome engine. Check Super fast Matt channel and his CBR1000 powered Honda s600 he explains it very well.
Yes Mike, I'm worried also about this, Matt did cut the narrow, lowered oil pan section, I didn't, I should be ok, but still, I'm worried too! 🤔 I think has much on that oil pressure gauge then on the road!
well damn, I discovered today you are another quebecer of probably the same region as me (in Montérégie), I never knew there was track days at Sanair, atm I am planning to buy a Chevelle 75 for the fun, but I don't know what car to buy for a track day car, any suggestion?
Minis man! I've got some friends that race them and they are a blast to drive...also miatas, civic if you have a smaller budget and Ford RS and all the big guns like Type R and TRD cars are the best package for good track days..and yes I'm into japanees more then Europeen and US cars
@@VinyB57 Looking at some of them and I can see the modifications possibilities on it and it can get crazy, I may go with a Mini, they are unfortunately expensive (most of them are over 13 000 $ and mainly recent that are listed) but I am sure a cheap one will appear one day, seems very fun to drive compared to my Chevy Sonic (suprisingly fun to drive as well).
Yes I have a couple of option for the future, but for now I do love my shifter, I have so much things to master first on my side, before improving the car itself!
Use yamaha r1 09-14 rear shock. they cheap (used) 100$ but rly great choice for your track car. pre load, compression , high/low speed rebound. Try them!
I can hear on deceleration your back wheels are being braked by the engine. That would definitely create instability in the rear and make corner entry dangerous. A slipper clutch is out of the question now I guess so you might need to run traction control to stop the negative torque effect of the back wheels. Just a thought. :)
great as always lad ..... no one as far as I know has ever used 2 motors can it be done ? if anyone could you would be the guy ,,,do a Patreon i would be happy to contribute for another motor just to watch lol
😁 hey tanks John! And no I never seen double Busa in a smart, I saw double ''combine'' busa as a V8 in a small racing car, but never 4x4 double engines! For sure I'm turbo-ing that engine, but who knows, maybe one day I'll double it 🤷♂
Awesome stuff, really like the “virtual” formula sound of the car. Seemed too stiff the suspension for the track, way too hard compression and slow rebound as it looked bouncy. And make the cage before it’s too late, you almost where too late already.
look up top gear and them smashing a smart car into a wall.....the only car built around a very very strong cell...not a cage but you will see you as a person will die before the cell bends or cracks. super strong car
Hey man! You should really turbo this thing! I have turbo on my 1300 hayabusa engine. Inside a radical sr3.. Im Beating 1000cc motorbikes from 100-200kmh🤣
@@VinyB57 hõla.. yeah sure, its s GT3076R turbo. With CP carillo turbo pistons and rod. Not exactly a complexed build but its durable when done right;) My channel wad hacked and deleted so i lost alooot of vids, but i uploaded couple so you can see the car! What you drive now is fun, but NOTHING compared to the potential of the engine witht boost! Just 15psi is enough to leave some poo🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's called a pick up coil, not a crank sensor. Just so you know dude 😎 P.s The ecu is restricted on the 1st 3 gears on some Hayabusa's. Get it unlocked!.
Et boy!!! Ben j ai fait ben des projets depuis, je manque considérablement de temps pour tout faire! Là, je viens de finir ma mini série sur une fixture table et je commence un autrrle projet dès demain!!
For shits and giggles, cut your piggy backs off at the location you should have oil flow between the reservoir and shock body. I would be surprised to see any oil passages inside that aluminum.
