Chrissy, thank you for posting this link. The video presents the facts about monkey ownership, and I wish EVERY PERSON WHO WATCHES AND/OR SUBSCRIBES TO MR DAM OR BABY SHIBA channels would have the guts to watch it. This applies to those whose only response is how cute Dam and Shiba are; to those who think the fear responses mean the monkey is throwing a tantrum and should be "disciplined"; to those who don't believe abuse is happening; and my favorite type of viewer--those who harass and demonize the educated folks who report these evil owners to RU-vid, SMACC, etc. These viewers are as guilty of animal abuse as those who post these videos.
@user-hk1fg5ye7t Those who judge without true knowledge or those who think they know what it takes already to raise such an exquisite creature and chose to ignore that perhaps some of us actually do know a bit more, well they will never convince me these animals matter at all. If they only understood the true value in a bond with such a animal can actually make us as human beings, better people. They aren't humans, but should be loved as such but respected enough to continue being monkeys. Hands were full with Dam! Lol. Wow. Two under two!? It'll be ok. She's going to do amazing. I'm not about or against domesticated primates, I know my scientific peers absolutely dispise me when saying that. I just believe everyone should celebrate these amazing animals but with that, not every person is equipped for raising one. And no living being no matter how large or small should ever live a life of brokenness and sadness. Dam needs guidelines and his human mother is getting there. A boost to remind him every now n then that infact she reigns Alpha. As with human children, primates cannot stand to be separated. Time our away from her and the family when unruly. Not long to cause emotional harm. 3 to 5 minutes or until he settles. And I'd like her to show everyone in her country what raising a primates really intales, by this time, this infant, let him cling. She will see how he will be a more Bonded, better secure, happier healthy monkey who knows his mommy protects, provides and adores him. I do feel Dam already has most of that. But I also know from studies, it can be stronger. But like our own children, they don't come with owners guides to get this just right. Lol. It's all trial n error. Thank you for your reply. I hope we can encourage people from all over to not be so quick to judge, but offer kindness and guidance to others. But also to know where to draw the line and report those who deliberately abuse ANY living being. And wisdom to know the difference. Perhaps there is something lost in translation but having a pet can definitely be a hobby, however to equate an non living inanimate object like a toy to a living breathing, highly intelligent animal with complex social skills is not ok. But I'm fairly sure what you were saying is that everyone has their passions and whatever that is just fine. I think.
