The one-wall DIY workbench/makerspace that is loaded with features like a replaceable top, total adjustability, room underneath for a rolling tool chest, and more. I also added a row of metal pegboards that are simply better than any pegboard I've seen.

Too many comments to go through to see if someone mentioned it already, but if you have any other aluminum extrusion projects check out Bosch Rexroth. I saw several things from this video that could have been solved with a part from their catalog (but kudos to you for the ingenuity!). Biggest benefit I see: they don't use any of those annoying end mounted t-nuts!

Next time you try to make your miter saw level with the tables, use this trick: Get a perfectly square 2x4, so that when you lay it on the cutting area of your saw, it sticks out about a foot on each end. Attach it to your saw using the holes on the fence of the saw, making sure that 2x4 is sitting dead flat on the cutting surface of your saw. Now simply rest your saw using those extra foot lengths from each end. This will work as a temp holder while you install the permanent shelf for your saw to sit on. Hope it makes sense. Also, you made your station parallel to the floor, but that floor is not level, you might want to use a laser next time. Good luck!

“ Bonjour” For dust containment I’d chuck in a length of the mdf on each side of your saw drop down just so the saw dust doesn’t go behind your work bench on the floor, then just vac around the saw and not having to do the floor. 🤙🏻 looks awesome though and I’ll be doing something like this in my Australian shed. 👍🏻

I like the look too, but I probably would have replaced the plate covers for the electrical outlets. Metal covers against the metal pegboard blends in a little too well. Too easy to be in a hurry and accidentally plug something into the pegboard instead of the outlet, and vice versa could present a risk of shock. Maybe that's just me though - I might not be paying 100% attention because I'm thinking about what I'm building and I could see myself getting a little complacent, but I doubt I'd ever be THAT scatterbrained... hopefully. However I'm also rather fond of not being electrocuted so being the worry wart that I am, it would drive me nuts to think "It COULD happen though!"

"Bonjour", my first wife was French. In France you should always say "Bonjour" or "D'accord" before starting conversations with people on other subjects, like ordering in a cafe for example, not to do so is considered rude. My workshop burnt to the ground 19ftx28ft, with everything in it (which was considerable). The new workshop is well into construction (thank goodness for insurance) and I have a blank canvas so-to-speak. I am going to have to kit it out fro scratch. The options are endless, the decisions many, so I'm looking around for inspiration and came across your channel - now subscribed. So if it all ends up a dogs dinner I will know who to blame 🙂

Salut! Your dust separator will work better with the hoses hooked up opposite to what your video shows!
@Pauken11
@Pauken11 3 года назад
I noticed that too. The hose from the saw should go into the side of the Oneida and the shop vac hose goes into the top of the Oneida. The way it is now, the dust from the saw will go into the top, make a quick right, and go right to the shop vac and bypass the can under the Oneida. In order for the cyclone to work, the tool hose needs to come in through the side.
@scrapnad1
@scrapnad1 3 года назад
@@Pauken11 its possible some heavier dust particles will go down but lighter dust would mostly make that right hand turn in to the vacuum hose. The cyclone separation action comes from dust spinning around the outside of the chamber until its near the bottom as the air changes direction and goes up the middle of the chamber. Dust falls in to the pail and that's the separation!

Ows it garn? OK ... it's still English, just with slang. First time watching one of your vids ... though the $15K slab island bench keeps getting suggested and I keep thinking "I should watch that", but this super organised workspace really caught my eye. Literally hours ago in a fit of lockdown-induced rage I walked into my ridiculously unorganised shed and picked up my late-grandfather's 8lb sledgehammer (from before we switched to metric) and smashed a 45mm x 200mm thick piece of pine into small pieces, then sat and rested on the other, un-smashed pieces, looked around my messy shed and thought "I really should tidy this up since I can't go anywhere for probably another week or so". And lo & behold, this video appears at the front of my suggested viewing list. Subscribed - looking forward to watching more.

Grüß Gott! (Bavarian) Found you on Facebook Reels...You do a great job explaining...as a former teacher I can tell quality when I see it or hear it. Gonna build a miter station using your aluminum extrusion idea. I saved your reel on FB but couldn't find it, but I'm glad I looked on RU-vid. I thought I invented playing card shims...junk mail credit cards also work great.

He says he reads all of his comments, but does he read comments on old stuff? I know basics at best about woodworking, but have had a great time just watching your projects come together, and despite this vid being 2 years old at this point, I thought I'd comment and say I appreciate your content

This is amazing. Unfortunately, with my A.D.D., now I want to tackle this project instead of the 23382 projects I have to do RIGHT NOW :D
