Making frozen kimbap to captivate the global consumers, Hanwoomul
Hanwoomul has developed convenient rice products to popularize Korean food to the world. The company first released frozen rice in 2009 and it has gained recognition as a majore frozen fried rice maker in the domestic field. About 450 workers produce 28,000 tons of products a year. It has offered convenient and nutritious meals targeting different consumer groups including office workers, housewives and single-person households. Also, it has developed frozen Japchae, or glass noodles stir-fried with vegetables as well as pastas and frozen kimbap. Due to the rise of Korean food in the world, the company’s frozen kimbap has entered a large supermarket in the U.S. and gained more ground in the global field. As part of an effort to keep the sticky texture of rice, it has maintained the direct-fire cooking method.
