This actually isn't the most outrageous idea ever. I mean some of the ideas are silly, like the tablet in the side, but having a smart box somehow organize mail, of at the very least let you know when you get mail and how much, seems quite useful.

I've heard of a little thing you stick to the inside of your mailbox. It can apparently tell you when the mail gets in there and how much. It can also link with your phone so you can go on a vacation and still know how much mail is in there.
