For the record, the old touch system showcased in the beginning was originally made by VRLabs, and I modified the hell out of it. Credit where credit is due.
It's so good to see you're still doing particle work Shr00m hopefully I get to bump into you again soon ! Keep it up, I got a lot of stuff to showcase aswell !
I didn't know you could do that in VRchatr that man is a legend it's so cool and well, he barely used any triggers as in emotes, it looked to smooth it was unreal
Thank you! Your only limit is your imagination, as cheesy as it sounds. There's a lot of limitations with VRChat's systems, but those limitations always have workarounds. You just need to be a little more... Creative with the process, sometimes, and then you can make whatever your heart desires.
I do... kinda. You'd have to let me have quite a bit of creative freedom and no specific deadline to prevent burnout, so IDK if that's what you're looking for. I do this solely for myself and my own entertainment. Money isn't something I ever considered when beginning, and it still isn't a consideration when I make something. It's purely "wow, I wish this was in VR, that would be cool."
@@shr00m44 Either way it's incredible what you've done and are capable of, hope you keep improving that ingenuity, creativity and talent. You can go far!
@@shr00m44 As hidden said it's amazing what your capable of and yeah if I were to commission you well in the case I had enough and you were accepting then it would be basically a suprise me situation like you would have complete freedom but if I were to request anything I'd prefer it to be male :) But honestly what you can do is amazing and I love your avatars so much, keep up the fantastic work!
@@shr00m44 tbh this all sounds great and fair to me, I’m not looking to commission an avatar right this minute but if I were, where would I be able to contact you? Obviously you’d be compensated and wouldn’t be pressured by a time limit n stuff
@@shr00m44 Would love to talk to you about commissioning a couple of relatively simple avatars for myself and a couple of NPCs for some research projects we have going at my university 😊
I have met with this cool person once on the Pug and they were pretty chill and very friendly even though at the time the server was very chaotic. Hope to meet you again and see more of your avatars!
I've always considered it, but I have no idea how to code. VRChat is a great platform for me to make cool VFX without having to scrape together a game, advertise it, and gather an audience - because it's already been done for me.
@@shr00m44 Wait are you the guy that made the avatars? And also if you are how did you make the avatars. Does it need coding and did you do it on blender?
I optimize as much as I can. It's hard to be both optimized and looking good. The avatar stats may look bad, but individual effects I make don't typically drop your frames at all, which is all I can ask for.
@@shr00m44 Yeah, I can see that is everyone used effects like this, our pcs and the server wouldnt be happy. Though, its weird to see someone alone make stuff like this. It blows my mind and also motivates me.
I would love to meet these people one of these days.... its hard to find people with talent like these. Sadly I prob will not. Since they are prob in a friends + world only. Public world is too chaotic sadly.
I'm a 15+ year game developer and doing this stuff is pretty trivial for me. Chances of meeting me on VRC these days are dwindling to zero though, I'm fed up with the community so I've stopped playing.
noticed a couple of Destiny 2 stuff on his avatars, there was the Hawkmoon handcannon (The accurate revolver) and also a Stasis titan super (The ice fist thing).
Met shr00m on an LPD patrol a couple years back, and they were an dark souls boss. They were a great person and we loved interacting with them. The smartest solutions always seem simple when explained, but the genius needed to think of those system in the first place is hard to come by.
@@shr00m44 dude you gotta post stuff on your RU-vid channel please!!! I am a huge souls nerd, and seeing all these cool character models, even ones from mods is so refreshing and awesome, even a simple showcase for a couple minutes would be awesome. Plus since you know moon, and possibly others, you could get a shout-out. It's your call though, it's understandable to keep your things personal and share it with people who are in front of you instead of random people online.
@@smolchild1057 I need to update them all first. They were built during an older version of VRChat and some of the systems I used back then didn't age as gracefully as I had hoped.
@@shr00m44 sadly VR chat just released an update that could eliminate custom content, mods, full body tracking, quality of life programs, etc. So many members of the community are being purged, instead of being allowed to mod, but be disconnected from the main servers and only being allowed to connect with other modders, modding is just being wiped with no exceptions. Companies just make dumb decisions...
@@smolchild1057 Highly overreacting/blatant misinformation. It stopped mods, not anything else - which was against ToS anyway. Custom content *IS* VRChat. Full body is here to stay. QoL additions are being quickly added in the fallout. I'm not gonna stop creating, and most people that left will be back within the month.
In the early days, I gained a small following acting out other people's avatars (namely Toga/Ikita stuff). They stopped updating their world, so eventually I got bored enough to start learning Unity myself. Here we are, years later. I do miss those days sometimes.
@@Wrek1oose oh thank you, I don't have twitter had not seen that, but even thought the chances of finding exactly him in there...well let's hope someday haha
@@BetoMatias someone else in the comments said they did find him once. Not sure how long ago or if they let them clone. If I didn’t say it before just frequent the pug, that’s your best chance.
I'm in public quite a bit, and I am working on the plan for a revamp to my avatar world which will have all of my avatars in it. It's still in planning phases as it'll be exceedingly complex, but if I can get it to end up how it is in my head then it'll blow everyone away. Don't hold your breath for it, though. Could be years.
This is definitely some of, if not the most nuanced work I've seen out of VRchat yet. Anyone know if this guy makes any videos or otherwise shows off his work on social media? There's nothing linked.
I do not, typically - I opened my unused Twitter account for this video, if you'd like to reach out to me there. Should be in the description now. I'm often in public worlds like the Black Cat or Great Pug wreaking havoc and a lot of my works are public. I have a world but it's incredibly outdated, you'll have to find me wandering around for my more up to date stuff.
@@shr00m44 Gotcha, I figured that you probably weren't particularly active on social media because nothing was mentioned in the video, but I wanted to ask all the same. Thanks for the twitter link though, I'll keep it in mind. Again, very impressive work, the passion and care you put into your avatars is abundantly apparent, and I'd love to see more from you. I'm not actually on VRchat myself quite yet, just a voracious enjoyer of content from its community, but I'll see about checking out the Black Cat and Great Pug once I'm around, see if i can't catch you pulling some virtual street magic.
@@shr00m44 You've a great mindset and a pretty chill personality, my guy. Nevermind the amazing work you've done and the unimaginable hours of dedication you've put into this stuff. I typically don't care too much for social media, but I genuinely had no idea VRChat could support this level of ingenuity. Seeing your work makes me wonder about what sorts of guides you recommend best wanting to one day work toward the level of ability you have. Keep up the awesome designs and fantastic head on your shoulders! Thanks for showing us all this cool stuff!
@@noahloe6525 I found one of those guys a while back. He tried to take advantage of me at every corner - sent discord scams, asked to meet up so he could "see what else I had", etc. Didn't even bother to rename the stuff be ripped. It's a lot harder to pass it off as theirs since most of them are public, but this guy went out of his way to name his account "Shr00m~". Like, really? What do you gain?
i like watching these i kind of wish they could make a video game or something with there skill’s at least with the characters and character animations it would look so good and i would definitely buy it
@@aztumtheknightofwumbo7060 I'm actually a Riskrunner/Peacekeepers/Thundercrash Titan. The Hawkmoon was me killing two birds with one stone (pun intended) by making an immersive revolver system with a model a friend wanted. The Behemoth super was repurposed to be more like a standard ice wall power for an avatar I made for a friend of mine.
The druid character is modeled directly off a boss from dark souls 3 the convergence mod. The green orbs, vines, green crystals and green spirit dog are ripped straight from the unique custom boss made in the mod. He's an old druid who wields a long pole staff, snaps and summons druid magic, everything you saw was identical. Seriously impressive, this guy has amazing artistic talent. Also. The guy showcasing the avatars: the fitness gram pacer test is a multi step aerobic capacitor test. Moon: abababa Oooooo Aaaaaa, and lots of adorable laughter and monkey sounds cause head empty. He is the ultimate himbo vtuber.
Correct! Heavily inspired by Archdruid Caimar, but of course I had to do it all myself. Appreciate ya! And I do try my best to sound monotone, makes the one-liners hit a little harder lmao.
@@shr00m44 yeah you really sounded like you where in a professional business meeting trying to pitch new ideas to the company. You would kill it if you did something like that. Maybe you could become a game dev with your talents.
Glacial Quake 0:10, Leviathan's Breath 6:10, what looks like (to me) the typical hive boss axe 6:29 and Hawkmoon with an ornament 13:49 (forgot the ornament's name)
I LOVE the Destiny stuff this guy made, from the stasis titan ice slam in the beginning to the hawkmoon, or "super immersive revolver" as he called it. 11/10 most incredible thing I've seen all day.
Thank you! Ice powers were something a friend of mine wanted, and the Hawkmoon was me killing two birds with one stone, pun intended. Another friend wanted a Hawkmoon, and I wanted to make a super immersive revolver system. Why not both?
I. NEED. THESE.. As a creator myself, and having made a Hobkin mage with 60+ particle systems and 9+animations... HOW TF DID HE DO THIS?!?! Teach me master!!!!
These are insanely good! Kinda makes me want to give a try at making an avatar (probably won't). How long does shroom typically work on a single avatar for?
A couple days, but only because I know what I'm doing. Earlier days of creating took a week or two. Bug testing takes far longer though. That revolver at the end took nearly two weeks to work out all of the bugs.
@@shr00m44 hey man great avatars! gives me a lot of inspiration to do cool shit but i dont have the skills sadly. In the future, would you consider making any tutorials? would love to watch
@@chargingloose6844 I'm almost entirely self taught with zero history with any kind of game engine. If you have the time and dedication, it'll come to you through trial and error. Tutorials are unlikely, but not off the table...
@@shr00m44 Yo Shroom amazing work! And even more amazing that you’re dedicating your time to replying to all these comments. If you’re not going to do tutorials, which I completely understand, what RU-vidrs or videos would you recommend watching if you wanted to get started on avatar animations and creation?
I use a lot of the models from Destiny 2, as I can't really model. I've paid for every expansion since year 1 and a lot of cosmetics on top of that, so I feel like I have the right to use the whole game, files and all - not for profit, of course.
Chill is cool and all, but my life is incredibly boring. VRChat is a world I can make more exciting (pretty easily) and break the laws of reality without anyone getting hurt in the process.
man, WHERE CAN I GET EVEN ONE OF THIS KIND OF AVATARS! (I know he said he only allows cloning off of him, but there must be also some avatars available that I can get with even a fraction of this level of immersion?)
My dude, all you need are Physics engines to make all the cool shit do shit, and put it into an enclosed World where all the cool shit doies shit and enemies or targets are there, these avatars and their animations are literally a fucking Destiny characters, but the cool anime VR versions.
i wanna see people have these kinds of characters in those fucking roleplays they do, at least that way it might be less boring and kinda cool to watch
I made it almost accurate, with a couple subtle differences to make it more of a standard ice power than cosmic reverse-entropy crystals. I do want to bring it to the new integrated touch system and make it as accurate as I can for my next Titan, though...
THESE WERE SOOO COOOL. i could literally watch ppl show off cool avatar animations like this everyday. Wow. impressive asf. totally out of this world Haha.
Glacial Quake happened to fit perfectly with that character at the beginning lol. It's a pretty shameless recreation but it was a good way for me to get into touch activation - long before it was officially implemented. Hawkmoon was just a model I used for an immersive revolver system - a buddy wanted a Hawkmoon anyway, so I decided to kill two birds with one stone, pun intended.
Wow, this is way more advanced than the stuff I saw in vrchat back when I frequented it. Makes me wanna get a proper gaming set up and find this guy's contact info.
Man all this stuff is so cool. I am really hoping that in the future if full tracking suits become somwhat more mainstream we might se some rpg's and shooters.
