I would suggest doing that, but have someone that has no experience whatsoever that you coach. Anyone can do it that has a platform with experience, but inspiring people that, if you know how to do it right when you literally start from nothing has a bigger impact.
I'm making a video about starting out in this space and the challenges I've faced along the way. I'm going to quote you on that last line, "Nothing replaces effort and sweat." It's so true. Gotta have that persistence, there is just no way around it.
Hi Alek. Can you please create a video - if you haven’t already - about whether to sell multiple product lines in one shop or split them up by category? Thanks so much for the great content!
Was thinking something similar. Or something along the lines of explaining to beginners if you use multiple shops from the beginning to get started. For example having a mug shop and then a separate tshirt shop.
Alek arguably this is one of your best videos ever. Your down to earth and straightforward approach is an excellent approach for those hoping to achieve the dream of at least $10,000 a month. Please continue to pump out videos like this as they provide excellent information.
Thx about Figma - going to learn it this week. My goal is 100 listings by the end of June - at 68 now. I've been mimicking the best sellers this past week and my views have gone up exponentially. First sale coming soon :)
Hey Alex, great video. I think that people, if they are really thinking about themselves as a business they should be serious and start by setting themself up as a business. I know the goal for many is to make money but, with the ease of establishing themselves as a business takes little time these days as well. That way everything is separated from the get go and no co-mingling of anything. They can probably get all that done and start their journey on Etsy the same day. Just a thought. Thanks for being there to assist people to step out into their dreams!!
I have great products and designs...did the research, found the products competitors are selling...but no one is.FINDING me. I need to know how to get found.
It is so frustrating not to get traffic! I am almost to 1,000 sales and it has taken me two years. Here is what has helped me: (1) Alek’s advice to list 20 items per day. Hard to do every day if you work a full time job, but when I have, I notice a huge difference in traffic.if you can’t do 20, do 5 or 10. Just make sure to stay consistent. (2) Run at least $1-3 in Etsy ads per day to get started if you haven’t already. (3) A/B test. If you feel really confident in your SEO, copy your listings and switch out your listing thumbnail with a different color trendy mock-up. Doing all these things together should help! Hope it does!
Hi Alek. Did I understand you correctly? You recommend that for an Etsy store (beginner) one should NOT position itself in a specific niche, but rather look for ONE product (e.g. mug, poster, t-shirt) and offer it in the same store for different niches (with different designs) and produce a lot of listings ? I always thought choosing a niche is like the golden key to success.
Etsy may be OK if you don't get banned for life after listing 10 products and before you sell anything. It's also no use in appealing the decision because you get an email telling you they will not tell you what you did wrong and will not react to any contact from you. Over and out.
Alek I’ve been following your videos for a while. And I also started 3 shops inspired by your videos. I did wonder I thought Etsy forbid copying other items on Etsy shops although I see it done all the time.
Thank you so much for the Figma tutorial Alex, you read my mind! I was just teaching myself how to use Figma the last few days. I have gone through your tutorial and Steps 20 and 21 ('Colour Pattern Text' and 'Text Warp Effects') have the same text as Step 19, I would love to learn how to do them as well. Thank you. :)
Loved the video!💕 Just started my comic book collection and found Toon Haven. They offer a huge variety of digital comics for every genre, and lifetime updates too!😍
Thank you for another insightful video @alekSheffy. Would you or someone else in this thread mind to share more information or a link on the processing of returns when one is running a 'print on demand' business?
Not going to lie I struggle with motivation, made about 450 listings across a lot of niches to only get about 20 sales across maybe 5 products. my daily views don't scale with listings they just remain the same from 40 listings to 400. its nice that I am generating any passive income but even $500 a month would be nice.
Hey Alek. i have this question about location. Is it a crucial step to get more sales, or no metter were you live you just need to target different countries in your shop?
Thanks for all these videos Alek! Im learning a lot about POD. Im seeing that almost everyone teaching about POD uses Etsy. The thing is that Etsy is only available in some countries, but unfortunately in Latin America is not. What site or method would you recommend in this case?
What app do I need to be able to download and use your free figma pro designer. I have tried to download it but it did not open for me. Let me know because I am very interested in taking your course, but if I am not able to open the program I am scared to enroll and not be able to download or use your recommended program.
Hi Alek, and thanks for the videos. I'm grateful i discovered your channel. I can't find the mug mat to import for the Figma Walkthrough. I downloaded your guide, but there's no mug mat in it to import. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it.
@builderpj Only for ppl who suck and shouldn't be doing POD, if your good at what you do, doesn't matter how much competition, you will still be profitable.
@@SCDeerAddictmaybe you should read the comments of your own viewers on your own video. People can't get any traffic..... Because, wait for it, there's too much competition
So, if I'm selling T-shirts right now ( I'm working on expanding that) and I want to get into mugs and tumblers would you suggest opening another shop or should I add it to my current shop. I'm still new and working on my t-shirt I have about 26 listings, 6 sales, 1, 5 star review. Thanks!
its better not to mix. keep it just for t-shirts. or, you can mix A BIT - and only for items that are in the same "perceived" category ---> for ex: you can sell sweaters, hoodies etc. with t-shirts, but even then, make sure that the main thing of your shop are the t-shirts. because Etsy's algorithm will understand that yours is a t-shirts shop and will send shoppers that look for t-shirts. if you mix too much, the algorithm won't understand what your shop is really about and won't send any shoppers to you anymore.
The Issue I have in the UK is that you can't use Printify unless you have a business account and a VAT number. I thought that you could trade as a sole trader first until you hit a cash limited then you need to think about registering. How do you get round registering on pritify without a VAT registered number?
Hi, Alek. I have few questions around POD companies. Lots of people use printify, even Shimmy Moris switch from Printfull to printify. Can you answer, why prinitfy is the best in your opinion? From my research, it provides lots of products compare to other companies, but the shipping is more expensive and could take longer than Gelato or Printful. From research, Gelato and printfull charge much less than prinitfy. The shipping time is also longer, if I choose monster digital it can take almost 2 weeks to deliver to Europe. My fav. company to go with after few research is Gelato and printify is my third option. Can you and others if you read this comment answer my question, why in your opinion is printify you favorite?
how to set dimensions to metric in printify? eventhough I´m using european suppliers all sizes remain imperial. Since my target audiance uses metric I want to show them metric sizes... heeeeelp?
Hi, if I look at the competition and the product I am looking to sell does not have any best sellers showing on Etsy, should I then try to find another product?
I have make some design [ car guy, self motivation and gym motivation ]you can use for POD [ print on demand ] if anyone like to buy my designs permanently then let me know
So one type of product (for example mugs) with a range of designs appealing to lots of different people/ interests is better than focusing on one type of person (for example, women 40+ into yoga/ self care/ inspirational messages etc) and producing a range of lifestyle products catering to them? My idea was the latter but I'm rethinking that now!
Once I viewed a video by you I began viewing several more and making notes. I've been putting off purchasing a new laptop, however, with the content you've shared along with the app you've offered, I'm ready to purchase the laptop and follow your videos. With some prepared ideas and awesome tutorials from your videos I have a good start and a better shot to reach $10,000mo. Thank You Alek! 😊 ❤
Hi Alek! You probably already answered this a million times, was trying to find it in your videos. Do you stay away from personalized listings for shirts/mugs? I definitely want to stay away from personalized, I have dealt with customer service and with my previous digital downloads store and it's usually never a simple edit and is always time consuming, especially if a lot of orders come in 😓 but maybe it's best to have one or more for the growth of the store/algorithm? Thank you soo much for your videos they are wonderful!! 🙌🏼🤙🏼
Custom stuff is always good to get started with. It'll help you get sales early on, I just stopped selling it because I don't have to. At this point my time is better spent doing other things than fulfilling custom orders - but yes. They sell really well.
By the way: the uploader doesn’t work for all shipping profiles. Have tested it using a US Profile and a German profile, everything else the same. It only works wit the US provider.
Alek, I have been watching your videos for a few months and am grateful for your guidance and support. I needed the reminder to stick to a plan that works, and will continue with my process. I am currently 60 days in and almost to 300 listings. I keep picturing that LOTTERY LISTING you speak of and find your videos invaluable. Also, thanks so much for the Figma download, I will certainly check it out!
