In this video, we explain the differences between front and rear-wheel drive mobility scooter motors on a slightly damp 9-degree incline. It's quite simple. On inclines, rear-wheel drive is vastly superior. Keep in mind that with any mobility scooter, not to lean back on the backrest when attempting any incline so as to avoid tipping.

I have gone up steeper than that with my Travelscoot on a dirt packed path. At a certain point the speed controller shuts. Down the motor. So I help a little bit with my feet. Be really careful. It can climb a hill that it cannot stand still on. Both brakes engaged, my feet off the ground, and the scooter was sliding backwards. But with the motor moving and my feet helping a bit it could do it.

You are correct. The TravelScoot can go up steeper than what is shown in this video. Just keep in mind that you should continue to the top without stopping. If you must stop, as with any mobility scooter, put your feet on the ground and do not rely on the brakes for backwards stopping power.

The Travelscoot rear left wheel is the drive wheel. That means you can turn to the right easier than the left. So you can turn around easily in an elevator turning right, but you cannot do that turning left. Turning left, you would have to do a three or four point turn.

You can do a 90 degree turn to the left by keeping the front wheel turned right and putting it in reverse.
