Cheap junk only played a few songs, that's it! Plastic broke quite easily on it, except for those bomb-proof legs! Model: Fisher-Price B9001 activity table.
That nes soundchip decided to become a chainsmoker and toy companies thought that would be the best sound a toy could make. They never knew very young me would be absolutely terrified of that drunk nes back in the day. It made my family not buy so much cheap garbage like this dissapointment of kids entertainment so that could be a good thing. Why do some toy companies still use this drunk nes sound?
This sound ship was very popular and very common and it goes way back until the 1980s Some chips like this were very common in the 1990s These 8-bit sound chips were common among millions of toys in the 80s 90s and 2000s, but since technology started advancing, they started getting rid of that basically and they started replacing it The main reason why they use these is so that they can make a lot of toys and that they don’t have to make certain chips for certain toys they could just buy or make a large amount and large quantity of chips and circuit boards for these toys especially on bootleg toys, they would either buy or make sound chips like this in a large supply and large quantity so that they can use them
I'm honestly pretty surprised that toy lasted in the world as long as it did in perfect shape, lots can happen in literally 20 years. most just go to the dump or end up at goodwill disgusting
I knew someone who picked one of these up at a thrift store for two dollars. It was very cheap. She was going to circuitbending it But I don’t know if he has gotten into it yet because it looks pretty big and I’m not sure if he’s tearing apart yet if he’s torn it down toward a part yet I don’t know if you even fried the damn thing yet, but besides, I believe the board is smaller than the toy itself And if he gets to the board I don’t know what he’s gonna do with the board if he’s going to re-house the board or keep it in the housing that it’s in right now and just drill a bunch of holes around that thing The board probably has a few components on it. It has the melody chip resistors and capacitors and transistors as well as the battery wires as well as the speaker. There’s also a connection for a motor I do believe which makes the balls move around, but that is probably not connected to the sound circuit, there’s probably a flashing light connected to somewhere as well as other points. I don’t know how much this is worth for scrap anyways.
How cheap! 40 seconds in and a button jams and the thing rips off Nintendo music sounds. Guess fisher price wanted a cheap way to appeal to little kids who will spend about the next 2 decades on computer games.
