8:15 - My original thoughts were that this alt could be a reference to Stahl's color palette. Personally, I feel like that reference would fit better, since Stahl and Robin are both from Awakening. However, Mark fits as well! They're both customizable tacticians, but that seems like a slightly more obscure reference. Also, great video! Can't wait for the Ultimate fighters!
I always thought it was simply "Smash 4", but recently I've realized it also works as "Smash For" as in "For Wii U" and "For 3DS". This is probably a commonly known thing, and I'm probably blown away by nothing, but shit man Sakurai is truly a genius.
@@RunstarHomer Robin is hugely integral to the plot of Awakening, even if he/she is not the main Lord of the game (Fire Emblem games have characters with the Lord class as the main character typically, such as Marth, Roy, Lucina and Chrom). Without getting into too much spoilers, Robin is part of the reason why Lucina goes back in time in the first place.

1:28 Someone should make a mod where he changes costumes whenever he uses the represented move. So he turns into woodman color whenever he activates his down b, top man color for his dash attack, red/white item color when he uses Rush, etc
There's also the Mega Man Color Challenge, where you have to win 8 games only using certain moves for each costume (You're free to use rush at any time, he's your recovery, but you can make it harder by not). Defailt: only using Jab, Side-Tilt, Up-Tilt, Down-Tilt, N-Air, and Side-Smash. Red/White: Rush only (This one's EVIL) Green: Leaf Shield only Baby Blue: U-Air and D-Air (I'm giving it this one because Hard Man is also blue so... eh) Orange/Red-ish: F-Air, Crash Bomb, and D-Smash (Crash Bomb Mega Man is orange so, I'm giving this one too) Yellow/Brown: Metal Blade Only Bright Green/Yellow: B-Air Only Black/Yellow: Dash Attack and U-Smash (The colors also kinda look like Elec Man colored Mega Man, and spark man is also electric.)
The one Greninja costume could be based on Croagunk or Toxicroak. The skin is the same color and Greninja's tongue is the color of their shiny. They're both frogs so that works.
LSSJ Gaming It was so cool when I first saw them come back in NSMB Wii, but they just kept using them way too much! They went into the next several NSMB games, Mario kart, smash, Mario and Luigi, Paper Mario, Mario sports, and even fricken Mario and Sonic at the Olmpic games! They milked the hell out of the Koopalings, and now I’m just sick of them.
9:14 Robin's yellow alt is more likely to based on Lissa from Fire Emblem: Awakening. The color scheme is the same as it is Yellow, White, and Brown as opposed to Yellow and Orange
It is more likely lissa while the FF white mage was a stretch and probs a smash original same for the all pink one. And im pretty sure there is a few blonde characters with red armor... Just can't remember names
Honestly, I've called that alt White Mage Robin, but I'm damn sure there's no way a *Fire Emblem* alt is intentionally referencing Final Fantasy. It's probably someone else I've forgotten about in this series. I mean, given it's one of Sakurai's favorite franchises, making the White Mage sound intentional would be to imply laziness in a series of like 300 playable characters.
Corrin's orange outfit for the female is more likely Kagero since her outfit is predominantly a yellow-orange colour, but that's just my personal opinion on the matter.
Corrin M's turquoise costume is a reference to either Azura, the songstress Corrin meets in his dreams, or Lilith, his childhood friend/pet whale, or even Shigure, Azura's son
I like the detail that all of Megaman's alternates are the moves that he has copied from the robot masters. Rush coil - Up B Leaf Shield - Down B Metal Blade - Neutral B Flame Blast - Down Smash Top spin - Dash Attack Slash Blade - Back Air The only exception would be the Diamond color skin, unless it is actually intended to be his Airman color (up air).
Wouldn’t the rest of Rosalina’s outfits be representative of the different colored Lumas? Pink for the hungry pink Luma, Green for the special world green luma, yellow for the default luma/power stars, Black for the guide luma? No clue about the white one tho
Dark Pits Blue Skin may be a Reference to Amazon Pandora, and Also There's no point in saying you get Nowi early on (and not specifying when) if you're gonna Spoil Mecha Fiora, The Valllites and Young Bayonetta!
Not sure if it counts as a costume fact but if you look at the default Mii Fighters for Smash 4 and Ultimate, they look like the same people but with different clothes and hairstyles. This might be obvious to a lot of people but I was surprised.
Given this is Ultimate, Chrom is *far* more likely intentionally referencing Owain. Although it'd be kinda funny going from a Lissa reference to her son when Female Robin can marry him. (And awkward in my case when my Male one marries Lissa to begin with-)
But Lucina has a Lissa pallet as well and she mentions in one of her supports the that she looks up to her as someone who keeps the children's spirits up at the time of despair in the bad future
5:45 No this is definitely a reference to something..I just can’t put my finger on it. That purple with those shades of green and pink are just too common among Pokémon for there not to be a reference.
Some fun pieces of trivia about Robin and Corrin, they are implied in Fates to be the same character via reincarnation and in Awakening itself Lyn outright thinks Robin is Mark, which depending on your choices Robin can outright confirm. Also the reason female Corrin has the nohr alt is because in artwork she tends to side with Nohr, while male Corrin sides with Hoshido. Thanks for this awesome video series!
Okay, but please tell me I'm not the only one who sees the glaring resemblence between Male Robin's Red & White skin and the character Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates
I personally don't see it. Male Robin's is predominantly white with red highlights. Ryoma is predominantly red with gold highlights. Female Robin's is closer if anything
Ok, the Cloud costumes were..messy. To start, the Blue and Red defaults were based upon the 3rd and 2nd class SOLDIER enemies, with the last Default to be a smash original, although it was originally black to match the Advent Children outfit in Smash 4. The Advent alt is mostly smash originals, but the ripped sleeve ones reveal a Ribbon placed there in honor of Aerith. The Purple Advent outfit is there to match his original design. The Yellow robin alt could also be a reference to Lissa.
Robin's blonde hair/red alt could be based on Amelia from Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. Corrin's red alt could be based on Hoshidan color scheme, which is red. It's hard to tell if it's based on a character or not. Corrin's blue alt could be based on Saizo, a ninja from Hoshido. Though the hair is blue instead of red. Corrin's green alt could be based on Kaze, a ninja who's neutral in all routes. Corrin's orange alt could be based on Kaden, a kitsune. And Corrin's pink alt could be based on Camilla, one of Corrin's Nohrian siblings. While I may not be right, it's interesting to speculate which is based on due to how big Fire Emblem is.
Greninja is my favorite Pokemon and my secondary main. My Primary main is Dark Pit. So as you can imagine, I am very into this video for featuring my favorites.
robins girl red look is based off ana in fire emblem but they changed the hair colour to blonde instead of red could that mean it is ana to be in the next dlc because it happened with peach and daisy
Robins first red and green and blue outfits are also references to the unit types, which is probably why they removed the red hair from red female robin, so that its a stronger connection to the appearance of an enemy unit.
Going back to this video, I found out the references for the Male Corrin costumes. Red is based off of Saizo, blue is based off of Silas, and green is based off of Kaze.
@@Felipera_ nah sorry for confusing you, you are correct it is just the difference between American English an British English. Color and Colour respectively. Nothing you should worry about if your learning English though 👍👍👍
Actually Robin is integral to the plot of Fire Emblem Awakening, as the plot centers around what they will become and stoping them from destroying the world
Great video but quick thing just want to point out Corrin real quick. I don't feel you fully got them so here's my take, red could be enemy units or could be based on hoshido in general with the dominant colour of red, orange yeah oboro, blue Azura, black purple could be nohr in general or camilla, then green could be kaze and yeah nohr noble. Thanks tho for the vid just want to through this out.
I think you got some of the Robin references wrong, the yellow alt references Lissa, I'm pretty sure the green alt is a reference to Stahl and the Pink alt is Sumia
Thanks for being so accurate about Mega Man! People often miss the point and talk about Air Shooter and Gemini Laser for his 4th alt, or Hyper Bomb and Gyro Attack for his 3rd alt.... you even nailed his last alt being Top Spin and not Thunder Beam! Thank you, Aaronitmar!
Cloud's black variation and his AC purple variation are references to Crisis Core, in which black is SOLDIER 1st class and purple is SOLDIER 2nd class, which is what Zack wore
Mega man blue color number 5 is from Mega man 2 Air shooter in-game one not from the artbook sketch In the artbook sketch yes its darker but in-game is much brighter
