I'm very happy you're doing well Dad Praying for the entire family everyday. You guys show and bring so much love to your channel very classy family and funny. I laughed so much when you guys showed the video when Craig found out Stephanie was pregnant.! Hilarious! 🙏🏽
I have to say this….Craig has the kindest eyes. He makes you just want to hug him. Not something I say too often since I’m a grown man lol, but he’s just such a lovable person. When I was younger, i had a young man with autism who worked for me. There was never a day that went by that he didn’t brighten my day. Even when I was having a rotten day, he could alway make me smile just by talking to him. Craig reminds me so much of that. Thank you for sharing your lives!!
There were too many wonderful things in the video! It is so hard to comment the best. Nancy I love the shopping and food reviews! Joe I love that you know the Birds and Bourbon peeps are thinking about the Raccoon. And Craig you are so strong, so powerful and so loved by us youtube family! You never know how and why we found you.....but now I can't imagine a world without you all. Let's say it together Hip hip Hooray!😊
Well I'm sure we all can say that we are glad that Joe made a full recovery And praying for your continuously good health... I thoroughly enjoy these videos, watching the entire family because all seems like such a loving wholesome people that this world needs right now😊😊💯

Absolutely loved this video! Happy Craig's dentist appointment went well! Nancy, again love shopping with you! I can't wait to see your sun room decorated for fall and Halloween 😊 Have a wonderful day sweet family!❤❤
We love watching your family my wife and I really enjoy the pure nature in Craig. No harsh curse words like a lot of channels just fun to watch. Y’all have a wonderful family! Thanks for sharing your stories and experiences. Tina and Denise forever 🎉❤
Hey Family! Great video! So sad about Pee Wee Herman’s passing. I do believe he was in a late 1980’s movie called Meetballs part 2. WOWZERS! I can’t wait for the next Taste Test Video 😃that will be SUPER fun! Goodness!!!! What a GREAT fan box!! Biggest THANKS to Ms. Sanders for providing a HUGE amount of FUN ❤❤❤
Do you think Craig maybe didn’t like the blue cheese? He seemed to be ok with the lettuce at first. Plenty of people don’t like blue cheese, I t’s an acquired taste. But wow, Craig really is expanding his palette and trying a lot of new things! Proud of you Craig and good job at being so brave at the dentist! ❤ Btw, Smarties in most countries except the USA are similar to M&M’s. 😊
Nancy, Joe, Craig Good Morning Vanderveer Family, Thanks for another great video. Great job at the dentist, no cavities.😁 That was nice of Arnolds Park to send passes for next years visit. Take Care
Nancy and Joe you guys are so candid in sharing your journey not only with autism but your life experiences...Reading your journal entries is incredible...the sense of vulnerability speaks to your bravery...in sharing your life with us. Thanks again!!!!
Proud of Craig’s great appointment, you all are lovely lefties (wow the odds! Get some scratch tickets). Now i must copy Nancy and check out the halloween stuff. Sending good vibes 😎
I just wanted to tell you guys that, although my oldest son does have autism, I just really enjoy your videos. Life can be really hard a lot of times with problems and it just soothes me and warms my heart to see your family living your best lives.
I love your format with your videos. You guys do a great job. Your doing great. Joe I love you personality and how you have lightened up and more relax. Love you all.
My son whos 21 cane to see me last week after i had surgery on my intestine and even thou id spoken to him and tried to prepare him as soon as he saw me he burst into tears and got really emotional and upset bless him the nurses were amazing thou and spoke to him and reassured him that i was ok and they were looking after me but then he called me a lot after that and now im home he asks a lot of questions and doesn't like me doing much hes such a sweet caring boy to 💜 love your videos
Shopping with you reminds me of shopping with my grandma (RIP)..we take our time and look at everything 😍🤩 I have an autistic son and nephew who are both very affectionate and always have been.
I am so thrilled about Craig's progress, it seems like every day he has progressed. He continues to try new and different foods, that's huge! And in his social skills he keeps on learning, but growing more importantly.
I don't know if there is a pattern of specific handedness with autism, but we had an unusual situation at our house as my father was left-handed( he always claimed left-handed people were more intelligent because they had to adapt to a right-handed world..lol..) my mother was right-handed. I have a brother that is right-handed and I am as well. Two brothers are left-handed. So 3 and 3. We literally had assigned seats at dinnertime so we wouldn't be bumping each other with such a group!
Those are iconic Canadian snacks that never seem to cross the border, only if mailed to someone. I will warn you, the Thrills gum REALLY does taste like sweetened soap, it does not get better as you chew, but for some reason it sells like crazy. And yes, the hickory sticks taste smoky. They are one of my favorite potato snacks. Have a good time trying everything. Sue from Nova Scotia. PS~ it wasn't me that sent the gift box.
My autistic son Curtis is right handed. My other son who doesn't have autism is the left handed one in our family. Curtis has the BEST handwriting. It is insane! Lol
I think y’all have a unique style and I’m so happy you began your channel. I think you do a great job with your videos. I didn’t know Joe had a heart attack! Im so glad all is well now. How long ago? My husband was life flighted . It’s an amzing thing. Here in the smokies, there are many landing pda and it’s a common thing to hear it going and coming. Lots of accidents, motorcycles on tail of the dragon and other curvy mountain roads. It’s saved a lot of lives.
I also can’t believe the prices of fast food. I don’t know how families, especially large ones, can afford it. My brother has 5 kids and I remmber we stopped at Chick-fil-A years ago and I said I’d buy lunch. It was like $80 + , like 10 years ago. Would be more now. Now with it just being myself, I eat out frequently. It’s cheaper than making some things for just me. I often get the salad bar at a big grocery store we have now. By the time I bought all the veggies and made it, I’d end up tossing a lot from going bad before I ate it all. It’s interesting times, for sure.
I think it was the blue cheese that got Craig. He was okay until that point. I bet I’d you cut up lettuce fine, like in a chopped salad, and found a dressing he would like… put some grated cheese, sneak in some boiled egg 94 whatever you knew he would eat. Looking like it might actually be a possibility. He sure has become adventurous!
That was super nice of the folks at Arnold’s Park to send you passes! Must be a family owned/run business. Pretty impressive, for this day and age we are living in. Can’t wait to see your next trip!
Thanks for answering my question. I'm a lefty, as are my mum and sister, the other 2 kids are right handed. Google says, 10% of the population are lefties. I enjoy your content, it's funny how we humans like to see folk shop and eat! lol I also enjoy the detail you put into places you go and the awareness you bring to autism which helps all viewers understand better. It also helps how funny Craig is! lol
Joe raising the roof made me laugh out loud 😂 Praise the Lord that Joe is okay. I really do feel as though God is playing a major part in your growth. Your videos help me and I don't even know anyone who has a child or relative or anything (to my knowledge) who has autism. Your channel has taught me so much and I see the comments where folks say you help them on their journey through life with a child with autism. It's also very evident that RU-vid helps your family as well. Oh what an awesome God we serve!
Craig‘s reaction to the death of pee-wee Herman broke my heart. You could tell he was one of Craigs favorites. Craig is such a sweet guy. Keep on having a great day. Your friend from Elkhart Indiana
My daughter (soon to be three) is on the spectrum. She is very affectionate. She loves to cuddle! She also makes/maintains eye contact. She's still ambidextrous but we think she's going to be a lefty. I'm right handed and her dad (passed away) was left handed. My mom is left handed and my dad is right right handed. I have two brothers, both left handed. Your guess is as good as mine on those genetic odds! 😊
You made a remark that resonated with me about the price or fast food. I havena family of 4 and when we go out for fast food I will typically not order a meal because I refuse to spend $40+ on fast food I would rather do without...
Hi there, I'm relatively new to your channel but you guys always look like you have such a very good time and Craig always is so intrigued and really knows what he likes for sure. I think I did find it interesting just because I do have autism as well but it's sort of on the very mild side. Keep up the great content though!
Both of my autistic boys are very affectionate and openly loving to “their people”. They don’t like other people touching them though. Being autistic myself, I’m the same way. I love big, deep hugs and cuddling from my husband or kids but don’t like anyone else in my space.
17:37 Definitely with the big guy on this one. The dentist is certainly not my favorite person. Even dentist don't like other dentist for god's sake🤣 Anyway congrats on no cavities Craig!!🎉
Left-handedness and mixed-handedness are more common in neurodiverse people than in the general population. About 28 percent of people on the autism spectrum are left-handers compared to 10 percent in the general population. Genes involved in brain development may link left-handedness and neurodiversity.
I've been told by an acquaintance I've known since age 13 who raised a son with autism that he suspects I'm on the spectrum, but never been officially diagnosed. I'm also a southpaw, but broke my right arm in a compound fracture at six years old so I've always wondered how much that had to do with favoring the left.
No cavities is awesome 😃……way to go Craig 👍👍. I thought is was so sweet when Craig asked you to look at his teeth & told himself to be brave before he saw the dentist 🥰
How does Craig cope with appointments when he’s not called in for the time the appointment is scheduled for? Do you try to get the earliest morning appointment to help with sticking to the time?
His appointment was actually 10 minutes late at the dentist but I think he was so nervous that he didn’t notice. Thankfully all of our appointments have been on time otherwise
My oldest is autistic. He was a little bit affectionate as a child, but now that he is 20, he isn't at all. He also has a lot of stomach issues. My friends daughter is also autistic and she has tummy issues as well. Did Craig ever have tummy troubles?? I am left-handed, and my oldest used both right and left hands. 😊
That’s very interesting. Craig has gas a lot but so far no other tummy troubles. That’s definitely something to think about. Thank you so much for sharing!
My mom and brother are left handed. It was us three so as a righty I was the odd one out. I too was a blondie when little. Lefties are cool. I have always liked how my brother writes in cursive. It's quite pretty.
I like how Craig says he going to do ok in the dentist office. I get horrible fear of the dentist office. Childhood trauma for me. Smash burgers sounds pretty good.
I truly feel it was the blue cheese that turned him off because the first two pieces of lettuce he tried seemed to go over pretty well with him. I do agree $25 is quite steep but I have to say both the meals you ordered were quite plentiful. Craig's burger was massive and a huge order of onion rings and like you said your cobb salad was a full meal and then some. Everything looks quite delicious.
If you sign up for the rewards program at Michael’s you can get coupons! Also, Hobby Lobby will put their holiday items on sale every couple weeks, up to 40% off. Have fun decorating!❤
I am curious if Craig ever bonded with any of his teachers? He is just so easy to love. Did he also ever go to a relatives/friends home to play without you? Great job at the dentist Craig!!! 😊
Craig bonded with his one on one associate. He always told me that she was his friend. Craig did go to our good friends house without us but Stephanie went also. He was invited to a lot of birthday parties when he was younger but I would always go with him
I love Smashburger. Do you guys have an Islands in Iowa? It might only be a Southern California chain. It’s one of our favorite burger restaurants. They have a great Cobb salad as well.
