Nah. Transparent. "Awww, the kids aren't into the alternative thing anymore and are all into Marilyn Manson and my ego insists I'm a biggest seller... I know! I'll go goth!!!".
I was actually in the audience here. Just turned 15, me and a mate got tickets. After the performance, I approached Billy, he signed my bbc pass and gave me one of his picks.
As much as I love the Adore album, these live versions here were so much better. It's like that one thing the album was missing suddenly made them come alive here.
Yes! I agree. I wished they went with a session drummer than a drum machine. Adore songs with a live band sounds just like a post-punk band like the cure, gene love jezebel etc
@@georgeturner8476 I worked for BBC, so just asked a friend at work for tickets to the show. Everyone was so into dance music back then so I got all the rock, metal and alternative tickets as no one else wanted them and being the only real rocker at work I was a very happy chappy. Thanks for the comment, when someone comments it brings me back to a great performances like this and I can watch again and relive the moment. Love that heavy bass at the start of Ava Adore.
Apparently the consensus is that adore was a failure, I however loved the record and seeing the band in that era gives me goosebumps. This is incredible!
They’re the bizarro Chili Peppers. MUCH better live than on the album…Corgan actually has brass balls when he’s live. Exhibit A: the very first lyric, of the very first song, in this video. Instead of the whiny, plaintive album version, we get scorn, bitterness, almost RESENTMENT, that he adores this rotten bitch and can’t do anything about it.
Som da minha juventude, hj com 43 anos não deixo de ouvir essa banda maravilhosa 👏👏😍😍😍 Porque ultimamente só aparece lixo achando que sabe toca algo, quero ver fazer um som pelo menos parecido.
D’Arcy doing her best Kim Deal homage with the backing vocals on “Daphne Descends…” These guys are playing 5-D chess while bands today aren’t even playing tiddly-winks.
Love the '"48 year old divorcee who just discovered the gym" look of the drummer. Best part about this era was D'Arcy's see-through shirts. Hot diggety!
