Tight Work Brother!! You are in point with your striking. It's one thing to be able to do those punches and kicks, but to be using flawless technique with the torque from your hips and the power from the ground up alongside it. That takes years upon years, which you obviously know. You are living proof. Amazing work my dude.

watching high level athletes run through practice is always so fun to watch. It shows you how smooth and effortless they make things look. It's like watching an NBA player shoot during warmups, an MLB player taking batting practice, and so on.

Great work on your channel. Love your content and analysis. It is no exaggeration to state that some of your insights have literally changed my life. I have a few questions which I would like your opinion on. Assuming, and I could be corrected, that virtually all of the great practitioners of martial arts spent the majority of their time training alone, how did they become to have such great reputations as fighters? Was their opposition weak or untrained? Did they cherry pick their fights? Did their students over hype them or given the absence of health and safety etc were they simply fighting in a totally different context? In most modern societies we all need more strength, conditioning and cardiovascular work than our forebears. Excluding this how much time as a percentage should be spent on technique training with a partner(s) against training alone? I would humbly suggest that for sustainability daily solo training would be majority and when using partners only a few times a month should be dedicated to sparring and that the best use for a partner is practicing drills, footwork and pad work in that order as often as possible. Also given that using martial arts in a real situation is over relatively quickly uses mainly releases and hand strikes against an opponent (s) who is (are) unlikely to attempt high kicks or roll around in the floor, spar in a ring with a soft floor with time to warm up: How transferable are the skills one learns for a fight that lasts for many minutes in a controlled environment comparable to most fights which are over in seconds? Finally, in my experience in a real fight what would be regarded as a fat guy is usually very dangerous character though this would not be the case if he and his opponent are wearing pillows, not allowed to strike or grab well known vulnerable spots and know there is a soft floor and a ref to mitigate factors that outside the ring could prove fight ending such as being dropped on concrete! If I am teaching students whose motivation is to be able to fight their way out of a situation as a last resort shouldn’t I focus on releases and hand strikes done in a explosive manner to build muscle memory rather than waste time teaching them the finer points of ring craft, kicks above the waist and takedowns that can be countered by a well timed knee or elbow strike? I do appreciate your responses, can be contacted for any clarification and being of an extrovert nature would be prepared to discuss these points, my limited experience and my motivation on your channel.

Definitely getting sharper each session sir. Li’s functional pad-holding is sooo much more effective and realistic than the static holding that many people do. 👌 I wouldn’t call those ‘Thai pads’ per se though Gabriel. They’re focus pads aren’t they? 🤔🤷‍♂️ PS. Are those 12 or 14oz gloves champ? And are u using them for extra burn, and so the KC mitts will FLYYYY with speed come debut time? I’m interested to know. 🙏💪🔥

Fantastic but you are training for your fight in karate combat right? so why big gloves in pads training? also, when you are protecting your head with those big gloves you are repeating Liam's mistake which you pointed out in Liam Harrison vs Muagthai breakdown
@paulpelle3046
@paulpelle3046 2 года назад
I’m hoping Gabriel will explain this further, but I’m almost certain he’s deliberately using 14oz (?) gloves so that he’ll be absolutely lightning-fast with the 5/6oz mitts in KC. Also, your comment re. his excellent shell guard are completely wrong in this context. KC does NOT have people who high kick with the same velocity/power of a top Thai boxer bruh. 🤷‍♂️ Gabe’s guard is one of the best in all of professional combat sports. I think he’s got this!! 😆✌️💪
