On World Health Day, we are proud to highlight the incredible journey of our patient whose remarkable recovery exemplifies SMCV’s commitment in medical advancement.
This case features a 56 years old gentleman from Indonesia, who came to Malaysia for a family holiday and annual health check. Upon the health check which subsequently followed by an angiogram, the result revealed three blockages in his heart vessels. Given his heart condition and ejection fraction, minimally invasive Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) was then recommended. This surgical approach involves a smaller incision on the side of the body compared to conventional CABG, resulting in less pain and a quicker recovery for the patient. This method ultimately translate to an improved patient outcomes.
Watch on as Dr Foo Yoke Loong, our Consultant Cardiologists and Dr Mohd Zamrin, our Cardiothoracic Surgeon share more about this patient and inspiring story.
