if you use iron powder as a flux it should separate most of the impurities from the copper. It will act as both an oxygen barrier and a magnet for the impurities. It might also improve your pour if you make a lid for your crucible to prevent air reaching your copper. Since the iron has a higher melting point if your careful with temperature control you'll have a bit better grade of copper with each smelting.
Now we know why it took so long to go from the copper age to the bronze age to the steel age. Thats some hard work gathering then smelting then actually remelting and casting. Then you can make a tool out of it. Well done.
This is good work! Copper is much more corrosion-resistant than iron and has antimicrobial properties so it would be good to make containers, pots, and utensils for cooking and storage from your metal
Copper should not be used for long time storage of food or utensils despite its anti bacterial properties. Ingestion of copper through your food is really quite bad for your health, wich is why most antique copper potts and pans are tin plated on the inside.
You copper operation is pretty awesome! : ) Before you commit to making something with the copper, you might consider just continuing to mine and smelt to gain a large quantity. This will give you time to really think about what you want to make with it and have a good quantity on hand when you do. As someone suggested, there are all kinds of useful things you can make. But if you can find the source, the copper vein when its entering the stream, wow, that would awesome! Then you might be able to smelt enough copper to make things to sell or barter with, or just sell the smelted ore to coppersmiths. Imagine the possibilities! : )

Some advice on the smelting you should create a small depression in the ground under the furnace, line it with clay with a little clay lined channel sloped to a stone bowl place lower in the ground outside), add fuel and raw copper ore, light the fuel, and heat the copper ore to where it becomes completely liquid, and keep the temperature constant so that gravity can do the rest. The crucible smelting is actually the 3rd refinement stage when it comes to removing the impurities from the copper, especially those not removed through the first 2 methods. But you might find an easier or more fuel efficient alternative.
I have been watching you for some time and look forward to see what you do with the copper. A lot of my family came from copper country ( Upper Peninsula Michigan) and I have some large pieces and a mining chisel from the early 1800’s . One man held the chisel and the other drove it with a large hammer to mine the copper. Best wishes Duong
the force of the water wheel is dependant on 2 things 1 is head... 2 is flow ..you have no "head" in this system because your resovoir is open and cannot hold pressure. replace your bamboo pipe with clay sealed from the river to the wheel and you will have "head" im guessing at least 10 m of it which should be enough force to spin your wheel with almost no flow even in winter...if not build a dam raise the water level. ps throw gravel under that waterfall for erosion control and sound reduction. thanks for the videos

Hey Duong, you see how you are using the tongs with 2 hands? You should think about smelting thin iron bars and making them into springs! Put the springs between the two handles of your tongs so that there is force pushing the tongs open. That way you will only need one hand to use the tongs! Upgrade your tools :)

My advice, if you plant cassava, stick it in the ground and point it straight up, when it gets big the stem will rise straight up. It doesn't break easily if exposed to wind, the contents of cassava also grow quickly, and if picked up are easy to pull out. Try it...that's what I do when planting cassava in my area

You are still very intelligent. Your method of peeling cassava is fantastic, no one has thought of that, yet it is very simple. However, I wonder why you don't wash them before peeling them.
poor manioka... what came me to mind is to hammer some pickets in the ground near the plants and tie 3-5 manioka plants to each one of them... dont know if it works, but seems working) or maybe you could build a fence/ earthfill and plant some clump/bushes against the wind.... it would be also really cool to see in your video how to make soap/toothbrush/ toothpaste/body skrubber and allthat hygienic stuff in wildlife) thanks for your work!

You should make ingot molds with wet clay or some left over iron that you have. That way you can pour more consistent amounts of copper each time you smelt.

Some things you could make from copper: -Copper axe. Copper is a stronger material than iron and you have been using the same iron machete (knife) for everything. Make a copper axe for wood as it should help cut wood better and keep the knife sharp for much longer. -Copper sickle. Again, you have been using the same machete (knife) for cooking, crop harvesting, wood cutting... Make a copper sickle for harvesting and cutting crops as this tool will work much better and make it easier for you to harvest crops. Using a machete is not as convenient or comfortable for harvesting crops, but a sickle will make the job easier. -Copper rake. This tool is used to efficiently and easily move, turn and refresh garden soil. You are mostly using shovels and a pick which is fine, but if you want the work to be done faster and easier, consider making a copper rake. -Copper watering can/canister. You have been using wooden buckets for holding and transporting water, but water damages wood over time and breaks the buckets slowly. Wood also soaks in water, rotting and releasing rot particles into the water it holds. Consider making copper buckets as those will not easily get corroded by water and will not leak water (unlike wood). Making a watering can will also help prevent the water from disturbing the plants and the soil from flow force and will help you water your crops more gently. -Copper lanterns. Could make ornamental lanterns to hold fire or candles to help light the farm at night without worrying about accidentally burning something. Will also make the farm look more beautiful. -Copper forks, spoons, chopsticks, cups, plates, cooking pots, bowls, teapots, kitchen knives, general kitchenware will help keep your kitchen, your hands and your food clean. You still don't have soap, so there is lots of bacteria on your hands. It would be best to prevent sickness/diseases by using kitchen utensils and kitchen ware that are not used for things outside of food. --- Also, consider making a kiln out of concrete instead of the clay kiln you have built. The cement kiln will be MUCH harder to break and will look much better on your farm. It will last much longer and won't have cracks and holes in it if done right. No cracks and extra holes will mean that there will be less head escaping, making your kiln hotter.
