There is a perfect storm of many reasons for the 360 price spikes. Long comment incoming. First, most games that released on 360 and PS3 play better on 360. This will make most serious collectors grab the 360 version. One example is Spec Ops the Line. It's very poor performance on PS3 while it runs quite good on 360. Second, the games from this generation pack enough content and graphics to really have a great time out of the box without internet or updates. Third, there's more collectors now than games made at the time. If you have a low print 360 game, finding one complete in good condition is honestly a hard task, while Blu-ray disc usually look good. Forth, people who are collecting for the 360 are planning to keep these games forever. I think the marketplace is a lot smaller than people realize at the moment. Lastly, it's really hard to find rare games in real life. With retro stores closing and people knowing the value of games, Ebay has oddly become the very best option for most people. The time and gas spent searching are not worth it to most people anymore. When the Ebay well dries up, it might get really scary for some 360 games.
People who think you can still find good games reliably at thrift stores and yard sales are on crack. For every post on Facebook saying someone found a rare game you have dozens and dozens of people that wasted their weekend finding nothing.
Personally, I am not upgrading to a new console anytime soon and the next game crash is already in progress. I'm stockpiling games to play for the future.
@@Andrew_TS I run series x, 360, and switch. Any games that are backward compatible I play on series x. Better frame rate, loading times and auto hdr among other improvements on most games
Fist of the North star Ken’s rage 2 shot up in value because of the low print run and I believe it didn’t sell many copies. In my opinion it’s a hidden gem that nobody really recognized at the time. Although the first Ken’s rage was a bit better, I played the heck out of that one and pretty much got all the achievements for it. I bought Ken’s rage 2 about 3-4 years ago for 24.99 Canadian and thank god I did!! I did also purchase knights contract as well but a few years back for like 20-30 bucks. No way would I have paid that much for it if I didn’t have it currently in my collection!
I think Akai Katana might not shoot up in value drastically like the other games you've mentioned because it got ported to modern platforms like: PC, Switch, PS4, & Xbox One. Games that are stuck on the 360 (or games that just never got ported to modern platforms) like Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, Operation Darkness, Beautiful Katamari, the Armored Core series, etc. are games that will maintain or increase its value overtime.
Good thing some of these games like Fist of the North Star Kens Rage 2 are still up digitally on both 360 and PS3. Though Kens Rage 2 is 50 digitally on both 360 and PS3 it's still better than paying the price it is now. Some of these games are also on PS3 for alot cheaper. It's best to do research on these games now before you buy it and don't buy into the high prices they are reactionary. They probably won't go back to how they used to for some of these titles, but I know they won't all stay high value games for a long time.
This is why you'll have to invest into current gen and last gem early on I got arcade paradise on ps4 and I can't find any copies for ps5.... but the 360 of all systems you'll think the games are cheap but nope prices will spike more than original xbox since it was the more popular of the two
The only game I have in this vid is Raiden Fighters Aces. I bought it some years ago for 10 bucks, because it was one of the few exclusive 360 games that looked worth owning. RFA was already around $100 a while back. So it's not surprising it's $150 and beyond nowadays. 😱 I bought the vampire stealth/action 360 game Dark for 7 bucks last year. Now it's +$70.
You almost got me with the FOMO on Asura's Wrath. Cheapest one I can find is $60. Question is : Do I want to own it, or do I just want to play it? It's $20 digital. I think I'd pay $40 for a physical copy. My main problems with paying retail prices for used games is that 1. I just don't think I want to play it that badly, and 2. You never know what's gonna get remastered next.
Just emulate bro, I use to own all the games he mentioned here and more. I sold all my Xbox 360 games and PS2 some PS3... I just bought modded systems with the money I made. 😊
Why do people act like its a bad thing when you have something gains value? You spent money on it you rather it be worth nothing? Another question is why is it such a problem when Xbox 360 goes up price? its an issue or its not worth it. Is what some youtubers are saying.. But its fine if it happens for Gamecube games and PS2 games its no problem, People run out an buy it. Xbox is finally getting the love it deserves in the retro community. Its been shit on for years while the games were seen as nothing. And every body collected and praised everything else.

Do not underestimate the 360 prices m8. Some of these 360 ain't dropping on price due license issues with publishers, defunct devs/publishers, limited prints and lack of interest from devs/publishers to see value in reproducing new copies of these games. Some of those stella blade tire/sexy eastern protagonists games ain't getting remastered with this culture war climate.

I'm surprised Driver 3: San Francisco hasn't shot up in price. Super unique game. Won't go into detail, but the plot is weird af to say the least. You literally can't buy it anywhere, even on PC. Some RU-vidr had to buy a CD key off some shady website that he proceeded to pay for with a subway gift card, I shit you not lmao.
