I watched so many videos about people experiencing pain that i got super worried about trying them on for the first time. Luckily, i have no pain, it only feels tight, but there is literally no pain at all (alligner #1 for 2 weeks). I believe, the reason why mine are not hurting is because i opted for NIGHT alligners, which will take longer, however, I feel like the allignment is not going to be as rigorous as the 22hour/day ones. So if anybody else is considering doing this and if time frame is not a priority, then go for night alligners, which will most likely hurt less.
@@johnh3759 I also had braces as a teen, but after removal, i was never given a retainer, so they shifted.. I mean mostly my right lateral incisor moved, so i had crooked teeth again after few years. I am 6 months in with approximately 4months of treatment left and it's pretty awesome to see the changes. They give you access to a 3D scan and it's pretty sick to see how it shifted from super crooked to what it's supposed to be. I suspect I might need additional aligners to get to the final product, but so far i am quite happy with my smile and the way my teeth are.
In my experience and my opinion, I think online clear aligners are kinda dangerous. Companies often provide misleading(out of context/comparison) advertisements and approve customers who aren’t actually eligible for clear aligners. Online clear aligners may be a little bit “cheaper”, but they can only correct very very very small issues since there’s no actual doctor to look in your mouth, X-rays, scans, polish in between teeth to allow for proper flow/movements, etc. In addition, clear aligners are actually more complex than you may think and most of the time orthodontists put attachments on the teeth to move the teeth with correctness and precision. Online clear aligners can’t correct bite, correct rotations, they can’t push a teeth up, etc. because they need to put attachments on the teeth and online places don’t do that. I personally have gotten clear aligners from a professional licensed orthodontist for $1800 compared to $2000 for companies like smile direct. Many orthodontists provide free consultations and have cheaper in-house clear aligners or provide Invisalign lite($3000). Please just weigh out your options in your area, as prices may be different and license orthodontic treatment may be cheaper. Also, most orthodontists have payment plans. Lastly, there have been so many investigations and lawsuits against online clear aligners. Just be cautious.
100% agree!! I looked at several online clear aligners but decided to go with Invisalign with an orthodontist. I got attachments on 6 teeth. If I hadn’t gotten attachments me teeth would have never moved properly.

My partner just finished smile direct. I'm on invisalign. His pain was much more severe than mine. He had a 4 month plan. Mine is 6 months. I think smiledirect has bigger changes between trays. Invisalign seems more gradual. My 2nd tray didnt look that different from my 1st.

@@randomperson-po1ss I ended up getting touch up, because it wasnt moving according to the treatment plan. I went for another scan and they will send me new aligners. It will take a little bit longer, but its fine by me. Note to yourself, if you notice that your teeth are not exactly matching the aligners, get in touch with dental team righjt away and insist on touch up.
i have an overbite and the right side crookedness the same way u did. i have smaller issues on my bottom row so i also got them but i was afraid of false reviews. U reassured me that i'll have a great smile (as i dont care to correct the overbite just the crooked teeth) by the end of the process. I also opted for the 22hr one. The pain was bad initially, gave me a headache for a few hrs but this is day 2 with aligner 1 and i feel fine other than when i press against my teeth while brushing or eating hard things. It actually feels quite comforting to have something snug on my teeth lol im a weirdo 😂 ty for sharing tho! im feeling confident of the end result now.

Great video. One question ... Once you get the trays in are they ever hard to get out. I have this fear that once I jam the aligner onto my teeth it may be hard to get a grip on them and I might not be able to pop them out especially with saliva being slippery.

I appreciate your video as a demonstration of your process, I think i will give this a try, i decided for SDC because my isue is very minor, my teeth are pretty straight but unfortunately due to not properly wearing my retainers post braces I noticed a very slight shift forward so I'm hoping this aligners can move them back in place. Its more of a bite issue rather than misalignment. Hope it works for me! Glad u got your desired results! Thanks for all the info/insight 😊 how much was the price? Great detailed video. Is there a con to wearing the one week retainers for 2 weeks and just doubling the time? I feel it will give the teeth more time and would give the process a better chance to be successful. I’m getting mine next week. Nervous.
Just going to throw this important advise regarding the pain if you’ve never had braces before....you must put up with it and you’ll get through it but it’s a vital part of the process.
I'm 54, never had braces in my life. My front bottom teeth (only 2 on sides) have been out of line for my adult life. Was considering doing sumtin about it just for preventive measures as I get older. Your video helped alot to educate me on this product. Thank you for your effort and time you put in it to help others.
Yup! Thanks for the honesty. Wasted my money on getting Smile Direct for my teenager. So painful he could not bear it. Their customer service sucks. They never answer. Sigh.
Started my journey 2 days ago and yes the pain is so real, question did your teeth ever go back to feeling normal? Can you bite down with them now cause I’m experiencing the having to eat with my side teeth
Absolutely they do go back to feeling normal! The first couple trays are the worst because that’s when your teeth are starting to move again. But after that, I didn’t have to eat with my side teeth anymore! Thanks for watching & good luck!🥰

I was thinking about getting Invisalign because my teeth are like really messed up. I did try braces but I chickened out and got them taken off. Now, I wanna try this. Should i?
They worked because your teeth weren’t really bad at all. I’m scared I just received my whole smiledirect box. But one tooth really stick out while the front two are not symmetrical. It’s really risky and doing a lot more research before I start this. Especially now that they have filed for bankruptcy.
watching. Looking into getting this. I notice they are advertising a lot more now. My bottom teeth are crooked. Could I do just the bottom for half the price? lol Their stock went way down so i bought a bunch of shares and thats where I got the interest of trying the product.

I started my journey Monday and I'm kinda concerned because I haven't been feeling any pain or tightness or discomfort from mine except the edges of the aligners irritating my tongue and causing a sore on my tongue. But I'm not feeling any tightness or pain yet otherwise. Do you think I will by the second set of aligners?
I think you will be by the second set! But if you don't, I wouldn't worry too much. Maybe you just have a high pain tolerance! Also, for the edges irritating your tongue, I've seen some people use a nail file to file that down and it helped them tremendously. Hope that helps you too! Thank you for watching! :D

Does your teeth move during the day? I finished my treatment and I suppose to only wear my retainers at night but my teeth moves a lot during the day. It only stays perfect for a couple hours
I wore my retainer for 22 hours a day and only removed it when eating. Maybe you could try wearing it longer throughout the day (but definitely ask the dentist first!). Hope this helps! And thanks for watching!!☺️

@@PeachyKins Thanks so much!!💜 they did a scan of my entire mouth and they did send me the aligner for the bottom teeth but I never wore them since I have the permanent retainer! I think they just send you both top and bottom automatically. Hope this helps!
I got a quote from a local orthodontist who estimated about $6,500. I declined and wrote it off that I’ll always have crooked teeth. My friend recommended smile direct so I started the plan, $250 down and payments of $89/month or something. Total is around $2,500 or so.
If you pay for it all at once it’s only $1850 I just got my first aligner 😭 it’s pretty uncomfortable and I’m missing the ability to eat and drink what I want throughout the day

Honestly my top teeth have moved back a bit because I stopped wearing the retainer at night after the process was done (really dumb move on my part). They still look good but they aren’t as perfect as they are in this video. Totally my fault. If you do this, make sure to keep wearing the retainer at night, even after the process is done!!!
@@rachaelelizabeth256 Maybe you could ask Smile Direct or a regular orthodontist to make you a retainer as the teeth are right now so they don’t still keep moving. Your teeth look great now, but now your not using the elignar in your mouth every day won't your teeth slowly go back to how they were? Which I don't think looked that bad.
It was an automatic withdrawal each month, you could set however much money you wanted to withdraw so I did $100 a month and I just finished paying it off in December!! I think the total was around 2k. Thanks for watching!!☺️
My mouth is bleeding my tongue is bleeding my gums I filed them down the plastic is tearing my mouth up the tightness isn't a problem I can't find anyone else who had this problem
They may not be fitting your teeth correctly which is why you're having bleeding. I would consult SDC right away. So sorry this is happening to you! :(
Can I ask if you ever had a day that you just didn’t wear it lol my anniversary is this week and I want to drink alcohol and indulge in foods all day but that’s gonna break the 22 hour rule 😂
Lol nope, I didn’t miss one day. I reeeeally would advise against missing a day just because it will delay the entire process one day. You could probably just skip a couple hours, maybe like 3-4 hours. That would be fine but I def wouldn’t skip an entire day if you can help it!
