I think what I appreciate about Smino is that black experience that Afro-surrealist view point of the music makes for timeless pieces to live by. The flows are incredible and the meanings and levels to the lyrics go crazy. He never loses that bounce and I think he’s easily top tier currently in rap but I value originality over everything else

I found out abt Smino only maybe like 2-3 months ago, and I’ll say, I’m nowhere near disappointed. The track ‘Amphetamine’ from ‘blkswn’ was how I found out. I was looking for new music that I could chill to, and then found it. My personal fav album is Luv 4 Rent but imo, all the albums are 10/10. I love how he makes his own sound and doesn’t try to be anyone else.

Had to rewatch this with Smino gearing up to drop 🤞 I know he's going 3/3, hopefully this one is his best too. He's never disappointed anyway. Edit: also I love blkswn but.. Maraca and Glass Flows literally have the same beat lol. They don't sound too much alike but they are similar in that matter.

true, however it is in the hands of these new groundbreaking artists to dictate the future of the music industry. Consider how prevalent trap was mid 2010s and how it is slowly phasing out! (tripe redd now focusing on rock elements for example)
