In recent SMITE patches Celestial Legion Helm received a nerf (Patch 6.2) while Dynasty Plate Helm received a buff (Patch 6.1). With those change, which ones is the better option for mages in most situations? How does Breastplate of Valor compare? What other options and aspects do we need to factor in?

I disagree, you let minions bust the stacks like gods and it will go right back in the trash. You want an interesting item? Stretch the stack gains and losses. Receive 1 stack every second. Every time you receive physical damage you lose 1 stack received, or 5 stacks of you take physical damage from a god. Dynamic, useful for mobile and clever players characters but defeasible.

I'm definitely gonna pull many more ostriches on you in the future and I love the reference.. but the item is really called Jade Mountain Helm. It's a Tier 2, for Jade Emp and Celestial!

heyduke sloth I need some help on a situation I recently played a game with a Scylla and a hera who both fed by going 16 death and 17 death whereas I played my heart out and went 20 -8 my question is How do you deal with feeders

Correct me if I am wrong, but you need one basic attack or ability to have these stacks removed, so why it is such a big deal?

That's not how it currently works. Watch the stacks at around 9:40 when Rat ganks. Every instance of physical damage only removes 1 stack. So you would need 5 basics to remove all stacks. There are some exceptions that count as multiple instances it seems, apparently Rat's acorn blast is one of them, but you can't remove all stacks at once. And you often avoid big initiation ults as well.

Bancrofts, celestial, void, has always been my core on AO jg since it's harder to pull off the full burst build/AA now with all the CC.

No it isn't, get magi's cloak, and beads as one of your relics. Pen boots, bancrofts/soul gem, demonic, telkhines, magi's cloak, situational/damage item (e.g. tahuti, doom orb, divine, obsidian etc....)

I started using Celestial in Assault when against full physical teams....A long long time ago, and once I realized how good it was... I transferred it over to every other game mode as well. Great starting item in Assault though btw, MP5... Defense... And cheap enough to buy a starting item with it to get a 90+ magic power start as well.

and yet if you have 2 tanks, you still wanna get the aura items, so your whole team benefits of your starting T3 item. Celestial is a selfish tanky-power item, which you really dont want to build as a tank if you're in Assault.

What? I've almost never seen celestial helm built in duel (in season 5 and 4), mostly just conquest. Breastplate is almost always picked up instead in duel.

For some reason when it comes to nerfing items or characters, I agree that it seems these companies don't actually know what the problems are. I sometimes wonder if they even play games and/or their own game for that matter. Each stat/value should have a gold piece price and that should determine the price of the item. That way if an item becomes popular it is probably the stat combination and not the price it self. If you want people to build different items make the "trash" stats more comparable (MP5/ Health regen). Wanting these stats to make more of an impact on the game, then make them better...i.e. cheaper magic/health regeneration stat/per gold piece value... make it worth it.

There needs to be more hp5 on items. Most if not all that have health or lifesteal should have hp5. It's a stat only found on sov. And the glowing emerald tree. Also the combination of stats on certain items are crazy and mages have an answer for everything.

Good ol' fashion Fetalis. The mages equivalent is weaker, melee physicals get it anyway and mother of god do i Miss strafe queen Artemis; that and change Witchblade(attack speed slow aura item) back to a lifesteal item.

I dont play much conq but I do play duel and I think breastplate is better. But I will admit it works very well (in duel)

What did you think of that surrender at 9:55? I personally hate surrendering because I personally have had many comeback wins but at the same time I have took L's that could have ended early. But if you surrender the moment we reach the 10 min mark with tower still up and my team surrenders, I have lost respect for all of them. (Yes this just happened to me)

Yeah that was a bad surrender. But tbf the Nu Wa was really salty and playing poorly all game, she was literally the weak link of our team. So I'm not surprised. The fact that we still won proves that that surrender was wrong.

Thana's overall healing is most definitely superior anyways, because he can consistently heal with his 1. Though Ao's new passive is.. interesting.

I feel like a close comparison to thanatos is actually camazotz. Heavy damage focus on 1 ranged ability, a lot of healing, and a cc/damage immune ult. Obviously very different, but comparable.

Uhm, yes? I said it's *partially* my fault. A single video with 23k views on underrated items that I made goes in-depth on Celestial Legion Helm and I also have multiple other videos mentioning it as a very strong current item. It would be pretty naive to believe that roughly 20.000 people getting this item more on their radar than previously wouldn't have an impact on its popularity. I didn't say I was the main reason, more impactful than pros/SPL or anything like that.
