Yup, definitely. Considering the current high aggression supports and his cc, he may also generally not be the worst sup. Anyone pushing forward past middle of the lane will have a really hard time getting out.
Yes, absolutely! Probably the best counter in the game in fact. The next video on him will have a whole segment on his interactions with cripples, it's rather interesting.
I think it's because Arthur's Basic Attacks are not considered so, to proc Basic Attack effect items, And Hastened Upgrade affects the God giving Him the buff without need to Basic attack, Hope it's not some sort of bug cause it would be scary to see Frostbound on Him. xD
I like it but I rec swapping magis for discord if you aren't running into a lot of hard CC because the extra cd and the passive would be more useful in that regard and in some cases having jotunns and titans bane would be better over void shield due to the max cd but it really depends
@ThaHollow0987 Am also a fan of discord, specially in a situation where the enemy has alot of CC to just pop your bubble for free. Discord passive only pops when you need it and it has much better base stats. Magi's is over rated
@@pyranna2003 yea i mean magi can hard counter certain gods though so build it for those gods in other scenarios discord is just a better version and i always throw a discord on my assassin builds
King arthur has a lot of damage on his 3 and what not so you don’t want to get that ability stopped early peeps. In some situations magis>discord. And I’d say if only the solo and guardian have def like usual then jotuns is better because cooldown looks super key with him but if jungler is like a Thor/Rat/Serqet going more hybrid you HAVE to go jotuns.
+ spirit Rob mostly better then discord because of the passive, and considering its a burst meta most god your gonna fight are gonna have a lot of cc. Magi's is never a bad option
Sorry, I can't read every comment. Interesting interaction, makes it equally useless though. You don't want to rely on cleaves for HS stacks when Crusher or Hydra's exist and function without that crutch
Dukesloth, do you have a video where you discuss King Arthur’s jungle potential? (if there is any) I personally believe he could be an absolute animal in the jungle if built correctly, what do you think?
I really hate the lack of control...I dunno, it feels like they just shoved a bunch stuff in him without giving him the essentials of almost every warrior...but great vid still learned some stuff
That's some good info, cause I don't think the game mentions this anywhere? Gonna be "fun" to tell everyone not to build Frostbound V_V I wonder how good Malice (as a single crit item) would be on him; do you cancel enough? Does his spinny move eat up all of the time?
I think Vaman converts sov's physical armor into power(basically converts whatever your current value is, doesn't look whether it's from your items or other sources), so it would make sense for Arthur to covert aura attack speed into his passive. Would be interesting to test out the interaction between Arthur's attack speed passive and Fafnir's 2
@@WondderWaffel did you reply to the wrong comment? sounds like it's in response to the shogun's one ;) That said I'm never opposed to some theorycrafting, so I'm in favour of fafnir nonsense ^^
What about shogun's kasari? Guves cooldown, mp5, defense, (can't remember if it gives ccr), and of course attack speed for his passive. But will it work since it's a passive will it even give you it?
@@paxogre6276 I actually didn't get around to Stone Cutting, sorry! I have a few more interesting item interactions for Pt2, but I can only test SCS if PTS goes up again. That said, considering Exec, Qins and Icha don't work, it's relatively safe to assume that SCS will fit right in with them. Also, even if it does work, there's absolutely no reason to build it on him in my opinion. By the time you got 3 basics off, you've most likely spammed half your kit or more and as such, you probably get a lot more out of Void Shield or other items.
@@DukeSloth I get that. I was just wondering considering I'm into really janky builds and testing once it hits live. Thanks for the reply Duke, love the channel!
i really don't like making items not work on certain gods, hastened katana and frostbound are ok but why remove on hit interactions completely?? it wont add nothing
Idk if you tested it on all enemies in jungle @DukeSloth because heart seeker and a few other items dont proc on odin bots u gotta go to the test dummies
What about build with runeforged hammer +15% dmg, rangdas +15%dmg, Frenzy relic upgrade +10% dmg and 10pen, + sunder upgrade 15% max hp + 20% more damage taken for 5s all activated at once? Arthur can one shot any God, with bunch of abilities in combo with his cc and crusher of course? Especially when full ultimate is charged?
Mystical mail would be also worth considering for extra protection to compensate rangdas and it have synergy with it so instead of 40 it does almost 50 dmg/sec. Maybe it will also have synergy with sunders + 20%. That would mean it can do up to 60dmg/sec just by being close to enemy especially in ultimate which take couple of seconds or that long circle sword swing.
Malice could work well, seeing as his basic is a distance closer to start combo dropping. After that crit, every ability after that gets that increased damage. It’s only a 25% chance by itself, but if you did crit, they are probably die a lot quicker. I think I’ll end up trying that alongside Glat shield, blackthorn, crusher, and soul eater. They’re all so good. They are definitely going to be strong on him.
These all just seem like bugs. Like there's no way they would just unable item effects just because he doesn't gain attack speed from items, if it's intended it should be mentioned on his passive.
That would be the longest passive description known to man.. His autos count as autos for Hydras but not Heartseeker, crit but not qins or exec, sprint but not hastened katana etc etc. It's confusing and inconsitant, if it's not a bug they should change it
So he’s a character that some items just don’t work on? Wtf that’s dumb as hell. How lazy are they that they have to just make some items straight up not work on him. Unbelievable. So many bugs are in this game right now dude. I’ve gotten kicked out of like 40% of my games after loading and the new UI doesn’t even work sometimes with inviting friends. Like wtf dude this game has so much potential and they’re just shitting on it.
Dillon Tidwell it's more so that 1. He's not complete as you can tell by all the bugs you see in the customer video and 2. He'd be very broken if all these items worked on him because of the way his kit works.
quin's proced in Aoe on him for no reason even onto objectives as long as the main target was a god it proced it made him able to steal objectives insanely well since he proced over 600 from quins on Fj are 30 mins, frost bound on him made it so you can stick on someone with 480 movement speed and below without having any movement items yourself i'm happy the removed item interactions completely but that's just in pts. hopefully on release they work as intended
Bjorn Kierulf I doubt its an oversight. I don’t see why they would take away his ability to use hastened and sprint before even releasing him. They probably want to see if/how much sprint affects his performance and will patch if need be
@@davidb8656 They took away all his basic attack item interaction because they already know that he's the next level of power creep and that he's compeltely brocen with those interaction too.
Not sure about this one. Maybe an oversight in regards to how strong it is, but doubt it's a bug. After all, the relic does exactly what it's intended to: Removing his movement penalty
DukeSloth considering they intentionally removed his ability to trigger most basic attack effects, including hastened katana, I feel fairly confident that they simply forgot about the haste effect on upgraded sprint. It certainly wouldn’t be the first time hi-Rez overlooked something like this - Chernobog blink dash.
@@bjornkierulf1222 The difference is that for Hastened Katana you need to connect a basic attack to proc the effect, if you miss, you get slowed as normal. Sprint, on the other hand, enterely remove the slow penality for basic attacks, that mean that it's the entire penality that is removed, not a basic attack proc. Because if you don't know, with upgraded sprint, you can keep attacking with basics while missing and you can still have no movement speed penality, unlike Hastened Katana.
Yeah personally don't think frostbound would be op on him. You have all these movement abilities already and the dash on the autos like you said, so I doubt you'd have trouble sticking to someone. And with how many abilities you have I feel like you wouldn't be autoing that much anyway unless you did a hydras build, which still doesn't make it seem that worth. I definitely think they should make all the basic attack items proc since majority of them probably wouldn't be core on him anyway (quins exe etc.) And since beserkers and golden blade do anyway it just seems super inconsistent. I see no reason to have his autos not proc like that. Especially heart seeker I mean I get it might not be good but doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to do it if you want to. Who knows maybe you could get two procs off just by weaving autos in your long ass combo. Probably not better than other options but like I said point is you should be able to try it if you'd like
@@DukeSloth How the 7th? His patch notes and PTR test were from last last Friday (~12 days ago). Updates are usually passed on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and even given the holidays, I'd still expect it to release this Thursday. The 7th would push almost 3 weeks beyond the initial patch.
@@ImSurefire Ahhhh, I've been digging for everything pertaining to Arthur's release since the Friday of his notes being released and haven't found anything. I'm surprised I missed something so obvious
Such an inconsistant mess.. So for some items his autos count as abilities but for others they count as basics? This is horrible game design. His autos should just count as abilities for the sake of consistancy, then balance around that. What was the point of giving him attack speed conversion if he gets zero benefit from any passives that would make atk speed items viable? It's as pointless as SWK's old crit passive.
Bracer is more broken on him. Think about that, he don't have sustain, Bracer would help a lot. When he upgrades it, reducing 3s of all his abilities would be pretty good.
Actually glad shield sustain on him is crazy good, kinda need anti-heal to kill him. Anti-heal then makes bracer n med really weak, might be good in duel where 1 person can get anti-heal but when an entire team gets it they can easily make bracer useless late game. Med can be used after the anti-heal wears off atleast... Wont save someone in combat like a shell if they have enough anti-heal on them.
Lucas your response to my reasoning... Your braindead if you think saying "We are talking about relics not glad shield" changes or debates any points i made, quite the opposite you have no argument for why you think bracer is good other than sticking your head in the ground and ignoring a counter argument. When a 1700 gold item is 20x better than a relic and you can sell it unlike bracer when they all get anti-heal?
So basically Arthur is so broken that they had to turn off almost all basic attack item interactions to make him not stupidly OP? GG Titan. Also, another case when they just change the game rules because reason, making this game even more inconsistent with it's items and abilities. Why they continue to do this?
@@ToastyYokai Its not fun that I can't proc Polynomicon on Ao Kuan's 3 because Hi-Rez said so. That interaction should exist on the surface, but it would be too "broken, op, disgusting, etc". Smh
@@SoulGaleo1992 so they're trying to keep things somewhat balanced, right? I'm not a dev, so I wouldn't know the intricacies of what they're working with, but if they shut off Arthur's auto item effects to keep him in line and not steamroll the entire game, that's fine by me. I can only assume they had a somewhat similar reason for ao, sorry if that's your main.
I think it's fine for Arthur because his entire basics are SPECIFICALLY designed to work differently with the leap and the lack of attack speed increases. If they had the normal interactions, we'd just have another case of Erlang Shen where items had to be nerfed specifically to balance his basic attack passive until he got changed.
@@ToastyYokai The problem is making the game inconsistent and unintuitive. Smite is already pretty hard to fully understand for new players, making every new god a power creep with common mechanics that do not work for them because reason it's just a bad game design.
