I only play clash and assault... Why? Because clash is as casual as arena, but has some conquest features and assault, because sometimes I just don't feel like playing any god and I just let the game choose it for me...

I play casual joust because it is easier to carry two people than it is to carry four.

As a mainly Assault player (~90%) I take Assault quite seriously and it upsets me when people say it's completely the opposite of competitive. I think what makes the mode challenging - and interesting - is the fact that you need to quickly figure out how to use a random god and what to build based on a random team and their gameplay. Strategically it may not be as complex because of lack of lanes, but when it comes to character skill and creating new builds, I think it teaches you a lot.

I'm a Clash player, and I gotta say, this video hurt, I play Clash because its like arena and conquest mixed, and I like that. My second would be Assault.

These descriptions are not far off, however I will say you missed quite a bit with siege. I play Siege to actually have fun. Siege has the best gold spooling so as a solo queue, I can make my favorite troll builds much faster. All movement speed items or all health items on Thanatos? winged blade tree only so you have a 0 damage build on Artemis? Go for it! Another thing about Siege is how fast pace it is, in other words "Is your entire team getting stomped? Well at least you're not in a 40 minute game like conquest." Another reason I went to Siege is because the Conquest map has gotten bland, so since I have a significantly less play time in siege, I can enjoy a different map until Season 5 rolls out. I'm super excited for it.

Joust: you have two friends that play the game. So true xD

I used to love playing ranked conquest. I'm not very good, still in bronze, but I'm still learning how to play the game properly. However the salt was just so bad I couldn't play it anymore. I was getting told to kill myself because I had the audacity to lose lane against a more skilled player (in that game I went 3-3 so I wasn't even feeding).

This turned out to be a LOT funnier than I expected. Nice

How to win siege: form a 4 man roaming gank squad that shits on the enemies’ fun.

the sad truth is though about ranked conquest is pro players can one man carry a game up to masters that's why they are considered "pro" if you really want to be the very best then learn how to ward, be positionally aware, and carry your team through important objective kills/ steals that you can make with out feeding your game. over all conquest to be a pro player at it takes a lot of patience and calm intuition. if your constantly blinded by salt your not thinking clearly and there for put yourself in bad situations. its not your teams fault that you died its yours. you should be looking out for you and only peal if you are able to get out alive as well.

I like joust just because i hate team ganks in conquest

Clash is downright gnarly. I played a warm up game just messin around trying to have fun. Turns out hirez had other plans and I wound up going against 3 members of astral authority.... my team and I lost.

Siege has that pre-cartoon art-style of the old conquest map with the barbarian looking encampment for chaos and nice ocean/waterfall vista for long lane.

Arena main, and proud of it. Fak it all, I just wanna team fight & have fun. Should probably be playing 2 v 2 on Super Smash Bros instead but... meh, I actually HAVE FUN playing Smite. The entire reason I quite LoL, is cause Arena. I quit Toxicity, I ain't about to start getting that needle in my arm again any time soon.

I play arena a lot. That’s where I’ve found some of the best people playing this game. Not only have I found the nicest people playing, (everyone in something like joust or clash just yells at me, because I’m not good) but it’s quick, simple, and easiest for me understood.

I like the fact that you started with Arena. Not only because of alphabetically being the first, but because that's the most fun of them all. I mean waiting to finish a match that you clearly lost in conquest is a pain, but I've seen my team bring back a 100 ticket disadvantage when we only had like 30 more leftm and win. Yeah, we had a really OP Kali who finally finished her build and did 2 pentas. or a penta and a quadra, not sure. so in there, anything can happen, as long as your team works together, and has a teamcomposition that can do some nice wombo combo in there. Odin cage or Ares pull usually goes wiell with most stuff.

I started out playing with a friend who said joust was the only mode without toxic people.(Still not sure if he was trolling me) I played joust mostly and would mix in some conquest and arena to see how I would do. I wasn't doing very well on the bigger maps. I didn't know how to play many gods, and still got wrecked on the gods I felt comfortable with because I didn't know how to counter build, etc. Ended up playing a bunch of assault to force myself to experience a bunch of different gods. (Was also nice having the excuse that I hadn't played them before to lean on without some shitbag complaining) Ended up really enjoying assault, and I still play it more than any other mode. Pretty much only play conquest and stuff if I have a group of friends on who want to play those modes. I don't know if I would say assault is the most competitive.. but it can definitely be the most fun. 2 teams standing in lane staring each other down, and as soon as the first person makes a move the shit show explodes. xD

I've been playing Smite for 2-3 years and I usually just stick with normal joust and arena modes and tend to avoid the other modes because my self esteem surrounding my skill level in the game tells me that I'm not good enough for the other modes and the toxicity of the Smite community just discourages me from even playing those modes. Much less, the ranked modes. First time I played a ranked mode, it was after two years of playing Smite and I was lucky enough to team up with some chill players in ranked joust. I told them how long I had been playing and that it was my first ranked match in general and they replied (paraphrasing), "Man, the Smite community need to stop with its toxicity, it's keeping all these players from playing ranked matches." From what he said, I assumed that not a lot of people often play ranked modes compared to the casual modes for whatever reason. Ever since that first ranked match, it encouraged me to play more ranked and then someone had to go and hurt my self-esteem in my fifth ranked match and I never played ranked again in all my three years of playing. Today, I still stick to casual arena & joust with the occasional modes with 5v5 (and/or 4v4, I can't remember) two lane pushing. Even as I was writing this, I'm afraid of the responses I'll get from the Smite community if I even get any at all.

You're so right about the Australian thing. That's the only reason why I play Arena.

I like Joust because it's quick with getting your build online and usually only takes about 15 minutes. The occasional triple mage is also fun😂

To be honest, the reason why I main arena is because most people play it so it is generally the queue that pops. I just multiqueue everything except conq.

I only do ranked duel cause I’m tired of people auto locking Loki or people leaving the game because they DIED once or twice.

Once you've played long enough, you start to voice out "CONQUEST IS THE ONE TRUE MODE, EITHER CONQUEST OR YOU'RE A SCRUB!"

My main mode is assault, Idk about other ppl, but for me, it's because I never know who to choose.

The reason I like fighting premades is that if I lost, I have the excuse that they were a premade. If we win, I get to say that they lost to 5 randoms.

I used to play conquest only, but I play clash now because I want a lot of fights, don't want to farm / fight creeps and objectives more than other players, and I like quick games

as a clash main I can attest to the bad builds and salty players, personally I play it because the games tend to be short and at times can be a good place to test builds when you have friends with you

After playing Smite casually on and off i've come to the realization that I hate the standard MOBA mode; would rather skip the boring part, and jump straight into the team fights. Joust and Siege are THE MOBA modes for me.

I play all of the normal game modes except conquest. I miss the days when conquest had symmetrical lanes and crazy team comps

Joust is completely right. I played conquest mainly and even ranked conquest until this season where I found some friends who play Smite and we just play Joust and joke and fuck around so no one ever gets pissed its just fun. Except when the enemy goes for 100% cheese comps.

I only played one ranked conquest and I won because of luck, basically one of three things kept happening: 1. enemies were in the wrong place at the wrong time 2. last second team save 3. I happened to dodge them perfectly

I like playing clash as a warmup before I go to conquest. I play assault when none of my friends are on.

I once had a guy brag to me that he was once ranked 11th in ranked joust. I then proceeded to laugh.

I play Arena. I don't care to deal with the drama and salt whenever you make a slight mistake in other game modes. I just want to jump in, have a bit of fun, and get off.

I just multi-queue Joust/Assault/Clash/Siege nowadays since all of those game modes are quick and fun. Used to play Conquest 80% of the time but I stopped about 4 months ago.
