While Jordon Smith is set to line up for Star Racing in 2023, there were several other riders that deserved a factory ride. Find out why this season is Jordon Smith's last chance for a title on the latest episode from GDN Productions.
Being a good guy goes a long way at any job but smith really shows that when your easy to work with you get more opportunities. And Enzo does not race the outdoors so it’s hard to sign him to a factory ride.
idk about saying chiz did nothing on his fill in ride for star but yeah it's puzzling how some of these factory teams prioritize riders. speed and ceiling definitely seem to trump consistency and availability.
I agree with some things you are saying but under this program I think Jordan Smith is going to surprise alot of the people trashing him. Dude would have won the championship instead of Savatgy who is currently a factory dude on a 450 and Osbourne who is a former 450 MX Champion. I do wonder how his injuries will hold up towards the end of the SX series but if he stays healthy and isn't on the same coast as Jett I think he is a serious threat for the SX title
Pumped for Smith. Hope he goes undefeated. The other riders mentioned (D, Enzo, Oldenburg) all had prior obligations so couldn't sign anyways. D - PC Oldenburg - (rode for star 2018-19) currently with Smartop, doing world sx Enzo - Club (could be argued that hed switch for star tho) A member of Star however has said that they think Smith has more "potential" Star also doesn't have any 250 riders next year over 5 years old. So Smith might be a nice veteran to have. IMO star has the potential to "Make Jordan Great Again". time will tell i guess, but definitely rooting for him. Love the videos tho, not hating or anything, just sharing my opinion and trying to boost your YT algo. Keep on keepin on.
Jordan is super fast and that’s why he gets rides. But he just crashes a ton and some of the decisions he makes during the races are the reason he crashes. I remember a supercross round on Fire Power Honda where he launched into a turn from a triple and crashed his brains out, even when another rider was clearly going into the corner. At least if crashes out on Yamaha he has had a ton of chances and can’t blame anyone but himself
I do agree that Smith was an interesting choice. I will say though, in 2017 and 2018, he was at a much higher level than any of the other candidates you named. With Jo, Jett, Hunter, Kitchen, Thrasher, Hammaker, Hampshire, Mosiman, etc. there's very little to no chance any of those guys are competing for a title in the next 2-3 years. And that's not including riders not on the 250s yet; which will replace some of those guys that move up to the 450s (namely Jett and Jo). I think that, at one time, Smith very much was a title contender and favorite. Star's trying to re-capture that ability, and if they can do that, he's a much better option than any of the other dudes. Especially considering they have younger riders waiting, it's not suprising they'd go for a guy with a championship ceiling (albeit, very unlikely to reach it) over a 21 year old who will get 4th-5th at best.
So true. Masterpool is the most deserving of a factory ride in my opinion. What he did on a 2nd hand 250 at red bud was incredible. The kid has so much talent
I'm disappointed *#Star* let *J-Mart* go in favor of *Jordan Smith* they've both been plagued by injuries but *J-Mart* delivered wins & titles for *#Star* Rumor is *J-Mart* is going to do *SX* on a *250* & then move up to the *450* for *MX* similar to what *Christian Craig & Chase Sexton* did. I like this plan I just wish you would have done it on *#Star* rather than switching over to *Club MX* Now *J-Mart* says it was his decision & he signed with *Club MX* before even riding the bike. He says *#Star* wanted him but other rumors say *#Star** & J-Mart* weren't getting along🤷🏻♂️
He doesn't deserve a factory ride and honestly don't think he ever deserved one but at this point there are many other guys that deserve this ride more.
