Oh man! I loved this! I've been to the Smithsonian twice and it never disappoints. You never get to see it all. Barbara Eden recently donated her Jeannie bottle. She kept it all these years. It even survived the earthquake in 1994. I'm glad to see they gave it such a wonderful display!

Went here in the early 90’s as a kid and I remember another pair of sequin slippers, the ones I seen were worn out completely on the inside, also the shoes aren’t under a light anymore because the light was fading the shoes.

Jordan you did such a great job in a pretty busy & noisy museum. Love that you always have a back story about the items which makes your vlog so interesting. Glad to hear you will do a 2nd one there. There's so much for you to see in Washington DC. The city will do you well with all the possibilities for your vlog. Thanks Jordan.

I’m so glad you showed the MASH sign! We are from Toledo and that was one of the things I wanted to see when we were there (several years ago), but it wasn’t on display at that time. I am in fact currently right across the street from Tony Packo’s and just down from Toledo Waite High School, both of which which Klinger mentions on the show.

Yes, such a shame, and diminishes the impact of artifacts which truly contributed to, and influenced American culture and identity. Seems the old adage, and DEI mantra is true. Once everything is identified as being important and significant and displayed as being import and significant, such artifacts which truly are, will cease to be. Oh please, Nipsey Russell's necklace, I suspect the museum has worst examples but could not stick with the video long enough to find out . . . One final comment which I suspect with be downvoted is, why are the display placards at a US national museum in English and in Spanish? during my nearly 70 yearly on this earth I haved traveled to nearly 50 countries, and have lived and been a a long term resident of 10 of those 50.. Never once did I ever think or expect that these countries should adjust or accommodate my rudimentary understanding the local language when left to either figure it out, or go home . . .
@ninamc1
@ninamc1 15 дней назад
@@lewisaveryfiler7087 key word is accommodate, so many expect it without questions. Actually just a few but they are accommodated anyway. I’ll shut up now.

Two connections from my hometown made it in this video! One of the Star Spangled Banner versions sung earlier in the video was by Sandi Patti, and the Jackie Robinson ball had a signature by Carl Erskine of Anderson, Indiana fame. He just passed away a few weeks ago. Good to see his signature in the Smithsonian.

I'm a big Steve Cropper fan and I know about the gear he donated to the Smithsonian. What you saw here is the Fender Esquire and Fender Harvard amp he used on 'Green Onions' in 1962. I pretty sure that's the first Telecaster he owned and he used that guitar and amp in the early days of STAX Records.

There is only a small portion of the collection on display at any one time. Not as good but the website will allow you to see everything. Also All in the family was still in production when the Smithsonian Asked for the chairs. So replicas were fabricated for production to continue and the originals were sent to the Smithsonian.
