This event was everything and more than I hoped it would be.
I don't need to type much of a description here. We saw our project through to the end, we made it to the No Name Nationals like we planned, and we met a ton of people we'll never forget. See you next year at the NNN!

This brings back 50 years ago like it was last week! I remember my first time now like yesterday, coming off the line- the racing heart, car and front wheel trying to come off the ground- and then the accelerator cable snapped! You guys did better than I first time out! My buddy threw me a cable and I ran a 13.2 quarter, can't remember MPH. The next time we went to the track was faster, ALWAYS anxious, but that FIRST TIME will stay in your mind! Your gonna get the rough edges off and squeeze the potential out of the car while building confidence and maybe get a little addicted to competition and you and the cars capabilities! You got the positive energy and comraderie of the event! I would have liked to see Mopar Joe run, and a few others also, but it was a blast watching you and Mopar Al run! Keep on keepin' on, and NEVER GIVE UP!

Austin, the 1st time you ran the jet in this film was not good as I'm sure you're aware. When the light turns green, you're not supposed to look both ways to see if a car is coming before you leave the light. They have the traffic shut down for these drag races. 👀😲😎

I know it is nerve racking when you get up to the line but just try it. By the time most people react when they leave on the last yellow it's green. You won't red light. After you do it for a while you have to wait till the last yellow starts to dim. It's hard to do. Takes practice for sure.

Man, I still have those 4 pieces of that back fender with me, just for the heck of it and memories, also Garret thank you for the Valve step covers. I've been carrying all 4 of them in my pocket everyday since, such great memories hanging out with you all. Thanks for the memories and the excuse to miss out on school for a 5 hour drive to and back.

The whole ordeal can be a good learning time for personality differences to learn and grow as a team. The car was made to race now , race it and know there are things done on the fly chasing speed that crew , driver , friends and strangers dive in and do what they can to help each other. Gets home , go over it and make the bigger repairs and modifications in the shop. Riding that clutch in jet , no need. Shift it like a race car , not like taking off on a hill

I vote the next thing you all nee to do to that car is FIX THE GEARSHIFT!! 1-4 shifts and launching in 3rd and no matter who drives it everybody seems to have trouble. It just might need some attention. LOL I thought you all totally rebuilt that front end? A shame it fell apart already.

The shifter just takes some getting used to and yeah, Im honestly surprised the idler arm lasted as long as it did because I unleashed carnage on it HARD lol

Pity for the exhaust leak had the same happen to me years ago with a warped header used permatex exhaust sealer and doubled up on aluminium header gaskets on the one side that stopped the leak cheap fix that worked with what I had at the time.

Thanks for the shout out but they deserve all the credit for this!! I have been watching, seeing the car, the phone calls/text messages, the ups, downs, frustrations, (behind the scenes), and promoting positivity to Austin and Jon since they decided what they wanted to do. I knew about the race since it was announced here, as I live 30 minutes away!! These boys deserve all the credit for what they accomplished and I will gladly, embarrassingly, cheer them on all the way!!! The should be very proud of themselves, deservedly so!! It was a GREAT weekend and myself getting to know so many people, putting faces with names I have seen/heard for over a year, was so exciting! I love you both!
