Hi! My name is Christopher Odd and I’ve been playing video games on the internet for a few years. I really enjoy a variety of games but generally lean towards games with a unique and engaging story (Bioshock, The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, The Last of Us etc), strategy/roguelike games (XCOM 2 War of the Chosen, Darkest Dungeon, etc), and RPGs (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Dragon Age, etc). 34:50 Jet to F2 -> Jet attacks G2 landing on H2 -> push mech to F7->Artillery mech to F6-> push mech uses puch to push atrillery mech to F5-> artillery mech shoots A5 putting smoke on G5 enemy 0 building damage I was shouting at my monitor and laughing my ass off, Into the breach is my favorite series on your channel and I have been watching since the first LongWar. That's a really cool solution I didn't see. I found one that doesn't use barrage, Ill leave a separate comment about it but good eye.

the thing with stormy weather, once you get the upgrade on the flyer and on the generator its pretty eazy to get , then you can get 2 guys in the smoke and its dealing 2 a turn so its pretty good, id rec more movement on the flyer as well for more position opportunity. and maybe giving the missile barrage to the pusher since if you have nothing to do with him you can pop it and not waste a turn on a guy who can blast ass

I was thinking the same thing because the green movement tiles were highlighted above chasm from previous turns.

Heh, I'm glad Odd managed to notice the Decoy Buildings! Well done man! =D They really caught me off guard too lmao It seems they're new additions in the DLC pack lol

There was one way to save both the buildings at 32:00. Move the Jet to H2 and use the missile barrage to make the worm retreat. Then move the pulse mech to F2 and push the launcher into the jet. You take one damage on the jet and no damage on the buildings.

12 smoke damage could be doable with the upgrade to that lightning smoke thingy that makes it make two damage instead of one.

12:47 jet to time pod. barage kills 2 and removes worm as he starts boosted then block with pusher

Your jet flies, when you selected it, it showed movement range on the missing tiles. So you could've saved the time pod

Honestly, grid defense is trash. The opportunity cost is just WAY too high. I mean you think of the value of a Reputation Star vs the payoff of adding a 1 in 50 chance of resisting a grid hit even over over the course of a campaign, even if that's cumulative to what you've already got. The investment in OVERLOADING the grid over getting a Reputation Star is just NOT worth it. The other major problem is that by building up grid defense, you're investing in banking on a counter that ASSUMES that your buildings are going to get hit to even pay off (which is something that you should NEVER be doing), and on top of that you usually only have like a ~20% cumulative (or 1 out of every 5) chance to even defend them from any potential hit to begin with. A DOUBLE no-no. I mean just to put things into perspective, to successfully get a potential return from a 2% overload to begin with vs being BETTER than the Reputation Star that could just simply buy ONE power unit at the end of an island, you would on average need to get grid hit about TEN times, losing a power unit(s) on average about 8/10 of those times. It is JUST not worth it ... I guess it's really great when it coincidentally happens to block a shot, but it really shouldn't be something that you base an entire strategy around, unless you used that special reset abuse strategy and use Isaac's ability as well to help manipulate the odds, but this is very, VERY advanced strategy and for ELITE players only in my opinion who do not make "casual mistakes". But I think that with the wider variety of pilot skills now so that you don't get the +3 GRID DEF as often, even this has kind of lost it's edge. Also, fun fact: In "Unfair" difficulty, grid defense starts out at 0%, further amplifying its general uselessness (lol) On the highest difficulties, you don't rely on this strategy at ALL. In all my playthroughs of Unfair, I have managed to resist a grid shot ONE single time. I mean if you don't need the power restored, you should REALLY be going for reputation to power up your weapons and abilities, so you've got a better chance of not getting hit to begin with.

All that is true, but moreover - a reputation star can be converted to grid defense at the end of the island, if so desired, anyhow. So generally superior.

I think the only way to get the 12 damage is to actively be smoking with plane+missile the entire map, and using the push mech to punt then into old smokes

upgraded jet to hit multi targets. 1 shot weapon to smoke 5 tiles. +1 DMG to smoke upgrade

32:00 You could have moved your artillery mech next to the worm and shot backwards to smoke it behind you? Not sure if smoke affects the worm or not.

He would have to had used the push mech to push the artillery mech onto the right spot because he was one move short, I dont think he saw it tho

I don't agree with the fact that your fliers can't just ignore all terrain effects or fly OVER buildings. It doesn't make much sense.
