Morning all, there seem to be a lot of “special edition” guns around lately, from BSA to Weihrauch’s 125th anniversary models which are nice but come at a huge premium on the price. The HW50S 1899 series has a lovely red laminate stock but comes in at £450 as opposed to around £270 for the standard HW99S which is essentially the same gun.

It does sometimes feel that way, but it’s a way companies can celebrate anniversaries etc and there is quite a demand for them. There is a premium, and this is usually due to the extra costs involved in smaller run numbers, because laminate stocks etc are usually minimum 500-1000 orders from the stock companies, just to use one example. They are essentially the same guns, but often packaged with one off ancillary’s. Hope this adds a little clarification. Thank you for the comment, stay safe. Andy

Got the BB SAA pearl handle chrome looking one. My fave of all the replica's so far. The handle feels great. Everything feels great about this one. Very accurate for fixed sights. This version looks very 80's bling, bling.

That’s a crazy looking pistol certainly a collectible piece. I notice Mrs AAR is right handed left eye dominant so I’m in a select group. Cheers thanks for everything.

I've never even questioned which eye dominant I am you know. Turns out I'm also right hand left eye dominant, and that explains why I never quite feel comfortable with my left eye open while shooting despite best advice 🤷

Following your review of the first SAAs I bought my wife one for Christmas. We popped into our local gunshop and she chose the bright blue finish. TBH I wasn't greatly impressed. Later on I found out that Umarex had gone to a lot of trouble to make this blue match the colour of the original guns. That said, I went for the battlefield finish on my Webley MK6 which is so realistic that a neighbour wouldn't believe it was an air pistol until I'd persuaded him to kill some cans. . The SAA is a brilliant fun gun, as is the MK6; the only pistols that actually interested me. Oh, and the no pronoun aside was spot on.

Andy, if you really love those SAA's you must get them a more comfortable home- the gun leather on the table is for costume cowboys but not the kind of rig the SAA deserves 😉

I have the "old" SAA 45 Colt from Umarex and the quality is amazing and it was £100 cheaper" than this bling version. My main criticism is- did Colt originally make such a pretty gun? If so, this is a great collectors' item.

Maybe thinking too hard about the name here but smoke wagon, the black powder bit makes sense. Wagon, is that because revolvers were sometimes referred to as Wheel Guns? Wagon wheels, Wagon? Now I want a jam and marshmallow biscuit covered in very fake chocolate…

You can have a custom build that will give you the same gun as Andy's for $265 @ Pyramyd Air. (Just info ...not an endorsement) Not sure if it will actually be released here in the US as a ltd edition.

I think Mrs AAR would have hit more with her right eye open and left eye closed. Or better with both open unless she is left eye master eye then she can just swap trigger finger. I will leave you to tell her Andy as she as a gun 😂. Great fun

Last time my wife was asked to have a go with a air pistol she shocked several people watching as she identified the model "oh it's a Glock " then racked the slide took ain and proceeded to punch holes in the cardboard box we were using as a target.....but how do you know what this is ? And how do know how to operate one .....she reads a lot of Chris Ryan's books I had to say quickly......if only they knew.....

Umarex has totally given up and disappointed replica airgun fans. One of their biggest flubs is the Peacemaker series. No 4 3/4 barrel lengths no real Colt medallion or horse and eagle grip.

I would add one of these to my collection if it wasn't for those Phillips screws. Please Umarex, these replicas are, in my opinion, lovely but ruined by this small detail.
