I just found your video, thanks for the explanation on the issue we just had one late last night do the same thing but ours won’t run at all 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
I feel your pain we have bought a igx800 same thing ours had about 135 hr on just had oil change at 100 hrs honda igx800 str governor fi honda need to get the the ball rolling on get all of these engines in the drawing board with design an manufacturer Great video brother $washon
And IGX 800 with only 135 hrs? That SUCKS!!! Honda needs to do a recall on the gear trains of these last two generations. This plastic cam gear is a no go…
@@PolyVshot A 100% agree, brother. We spent too much money on professional equipment. 2 performer service in Honda order. Understand that, and did a lot more testing before releasing This garbage
@@ga-prowashllc12.5 was yours going through deeper heat cycling? running in an enclosed area? Like the back of a van or something where it would get a bit hotter than one running out in open air? The main theory is the plastic gear gets brittle when exposed to drastic temp differentials. Getting hot running in the summers, sitting outside in the winters, etc.
We just are in the process of thinking about going to the CRX motors that Simpson is making. Don't know yet, still doing the investigation on. If it's a good move or not, I've always been with Honda in my professional career. As a exterior cleaning provider. Give me a body's had any luck with the CRX by Simpson. Let us know thanks
@@PolyVshot Pretty disappointed in these. We have 5. On one the groove in the output shaft failed at 1000 hrs. What all did you have to order to replace the camshaft assembly?
@@dougsteel7786 Technically all you need is the camshaft and the rear main seal, and a little o-ring that is the pass through for the oil filter and oil cooler housing in the block, but it's recommended to replace all the gears in the rear gear train, including the governor gear, and the oil pump gear. easiest thing to do, is take a picture of the serial number and engine family code, once you have these you can look up the part numbers on Honda's website or just go into a Stil or Honda Kubota dealer or someplace that supplies small engine parts and tell them what you need, with the serial and engine family numbers they can order all your parts for you...
Im looking to buy a 690 right now! Is this a common thing or is this a 2016 batch issue? Are they better now improved or the same? Thanks and good luck
It’s not a batch issue so far as I’m aware, the OEM camshaft replacement part is not different, still a plastic/poly material type gear attached to the metal camshaft. Excessive heat associated with super lean fuel mixtures to meet current emissions is the primary driver of the issue. Regular oil changes more often and keep the engine cool by running it in open air with good ventilation. Don’t mount it in a tight confined space
@@PolyVshot I moved to lewis/Thurston way before the scamdemic Found your videos because I am working on a blower similar to ones that you use, although mine is used to treat Wastewater. I'm a wastewater treatment plant operator for a tribe
