Never made a Tasso ham myself but this has to be 10 times tastier than a pre-cooked ham. A must try, for sure! Don't know how the no-see-ums have been up there, but here on Sanibel, OMG! Of course our Lilly white non-tanned exposed skin must be like a big "GOOD EATS" billboard to them! Keep on grillin fella! Love them all! We head back to reality in the frozen North tomorrow unfortunately but man, you got the winter world by the a** down here, my friend! Be safe and be well.

I am glad you got to experience some warmth during the cold winters up north. It’s crazy how the no se-ums are so different in different areas. We almost don’t have any here, and I’m not sure if it’s because the breeze along the water, or what it is. One other thing, the Tasso ham is a great item to put inside of beans, or other dishes. It has an amazing amount of flavor, and is way better than those pre-smoked hams. I was pleasantly surprised as it was the first time I’ve ever made this as well.

Gonna give it a try, black beans and rice and gonna try it in chili too, should work out real good!
