Motown's First Group deserves far BETTER than to be ignored and thrown under the bus like that. This is the same one-sided garbage that got SMOKEY inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame BY HIMSELF back in 1987, while the other original Miracles were LEFT OUT !!! an error that took some *26 YEARS* to finally CORRECT !! Smokey's greatest recordings were as a member of THE MIRACLES...not solo ...including THIS ONE !!
Exactly. The Miracles were the bomb. The Miracles were the group, smokey was up front, but it was the GROUP that made smokey famous. I was there, I saw it in person. The Miracles.
Smokey mentioned once in an interview that he wished his voice sounded different I think he said more soulful). Had it, he likely wouldn't have had the singing career he had. It's UNIQUE to him and he should embrace it!

This a joyous acapella version of a seminal Miracles song. I love it. The harmonies are spot on. But, the lead singer is Smokey Robinson. He is the legend of Motown that reigns. He was Motown, right after Berry, his mentor and best friend. Smokey is supreme. He still has it today. Blessed that he is in my life.

I seen all the group. Smokey and the Miracles. for several years before Smokey went off on his own. The Miracles were an integral part of Smokey's sound in the late 50s and early 60s. I can attest!

Mowtown was just a baby in the record industry at this point, and of no consequence to the influential record companies. Back in the day. Berry Gordy sold Motown Records for only $90 M.

They are the most-covered Motown act in history. They are the HIGHEST-RANKED Motown group on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the Top 100 recording acts of ALL TIME . They have MORE songs in The Grammy Hall of Fame than ANY other Motown group (even more than The Supremes and The Temptations. They also have MORE songs inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of the 500 Songs That Shaped Rock and Roll than ANY other Motown group...yet, despite all that. people are STILL trying to "piece them out" ...giving credit to Just Smokey, while attempting to discard the other members . They sang together, performed together, wrote songs together. They should be CREDITED together.

Those awesome layered harmonies came from PETE. All of the group's members shared in the writing of all of those hits....and PETE and RONNIE also produced several of them.
