Excellent explanation. Much clearer than others I have watched. I restore vintage computers, and have a handful of dead PSU's. This makes it much clearer what I'm looking for instead of randomly probing around the board. Incidentally, I have an old Olivetti PC6300 PSU that has a Gammatron T366 transformer(?) and an MPX-A-100 relay that perhaps serves in place of the optocoupler? It does seem to fit your model, because it and the Gammatron appear to isolate the input from the output. I'm just now making my way onto the output side where I suspect the issue lies. Again, excellent explanation friend. Thanks for RU-vid'ing!

in Samsung monitor power supply it has used TF12N50 fet , the gate and source voltages are coming negative but drain comes positive fet is good condition and also changed opto coupler but no use model number is E59670

What could the 400V capacitor to hold 300V for hours after main ac power disconnection? You mentioned in this video to do not touch, especially while there is some problem, but you did not say what could cause behavior like this. Bless you!

yes dear if its bleeder resistor is open circuit (in some circuits, bleeder resistor is not used at all) if mosfet is open, and smps circuit have malfunction then this capacitor keeps its voltage for a long time, (in this condition it discharges very very slowly by the leakage currents only) so in this condition, this capacitor is very dangerous. we must verify the voltage on main capacitor / bulk capacitor / smoothing capacitor discharge it properly, if needed

When he says at the beginning…. That all of those circuit boards are the same only arranged differently but with all the same parts. Kind of makes me think of Legos. There are only so many different types of Lego pieces…. but there are thousands of different ways to put them together

oh while playing the video. touch on the video screen you will see CC button press it. it will turn of text. you have turned on CC option in your phone because my videos are translated in multiple languages so everyone can watch and read in text form by turning on cc and he can select his own language by click setting icon closer to CC button and then translation in your case just turn off cc from your phone

What kind of component are culprit of a small augment in the voltage output ( 12v goes to 14.4v nd 24v goes to 29.5v) ? And which component is responsible for output voltage variation (voltage not fixed) ?

@@HaseebElectronics Thank you for your answer. My power supply fixed a new output voltage ( 12v goes and fixed in 14.4v and 24v goes and fixed in 29.5v) It works, but it is not varying output voltage.

chopper ki aik primary side aik pin ki input dc voltage he lekin chopper ki primary ki 2nd pin per switching pulses aati hein jo ki smps controller ic deti he. is tarah primary me switching dc voltage ki pulses aati hein ji se varying magnetic field banta he aur is se secondary mein voltage induce hotey hein. secondary mein puses and spikes aati hein. aap un ko rectifier se nikalney k baad dc voltage letey hein

Hello Haseeb, I'm looking at a power supply for a computer lcd monitor. The screen display keeps flickering every 5 seconds with a voltage between 12v and 16v. When 12v screen is okay, when 16v screen creates lines distorting the image on the screen. I traced it to the screen voltage changing every 5 seconds. It is not steady. I'm guessing it has to do with the PWM. Is that correct?

welcome brother check some polar capacitor is bad in power supply remove them and verify the ESR value of the capacitors. because the capacitor's internal leakage or increased internal resistance makes this type of problems so power supply starts to fluctuate

I did replace the big 450v cap and the small one next to it but problem was still there so I removed one IC LNK6764V and the voltage is now constant even on the 450v cap and before it was not. I think the problem is with this IC LNK6764V. Not sure if it can be fixed or I have to find a new IC.

@@ahmedtwahir yes theis LNK IC is standby power supply switcher . most of time it's internal mosfet gets damaged, then it creates current surge at DC rail sometimes this LNK switch ic is good and after the standby section there is something wrong which causes to drive this LNK ic to work in reboot mode, so it makes fluctuations on the DC rail. I suggest connect this ic I'm the board and check if there is some output in the secondary side of the standby transformer. if there is some output, that means this LNK IC is working, just you need to troubleshoot the secondary portion

fuse blowing problem have many problems MOV may be short circuit Class X capacitor may be damage Bridge rectifier is damage bulk dc capacitor is short circuited internally Power MOSFET is damaged these are are the main possible causes for input short circuit
