They have all this lore they really should have gone more in detail with I really hope Vengeance has more lore on this stuff because all this is really cool but they really only touch on a lot of this stuff in passing in only a few side quests
Hrm, I'm not entirely sure why that's included in the wiki since the name "Aogami" according to Doi's character interviews came from a nickname the dev team gave him for having blue hair but can also be read as blue god. The word is also a man made metal that exists in the real world, but I'm not sure if it's relevant to the character.
This video was a lot of fun to listen to. All the crazy lore has got to be my favorite thing about Megaten, and I really like the ideas introduced in V, even if they were a bit underexplored. If they can just bring some of this to the forefront in Vengeance, I think we’ll have a really solid story in our hands. All the pieces are there for it.
Although this Nahobino being made of the player and Tsukuyomi is a valid thought, one theory I haven’t seen posed is that this form is made of Amanozako and the player. I think it was actually implied in the original story that she was supposed to fuse with our main character before papa Aogami walked in and stole her thunder.
Tsukibino's hair being short reminds me of an old interview with Doi where he said the length was in relation to the nahobino's power, so compatibility sounds probable. Nice to see you also thought of the fool arcana. I laughed when they recently showed off some SMTV playing cards and tsukibino was the Joker card lol. When you compared the orb the Qadistu are drawing energy into to an egg, it made me think about a concept in Apocalypse (Atlus has used the idea several times but Apocalypse has the most similarities) called the 'cosmic egg' 🤔 The concept involved sacrificing a bunch of human souls to the egg, which when hatched will birth a new universe. Slightly different conditions, but adds to my curiosity about the world they desire, and by extension Yoko's role in everything/her feelings.
I think the hair is shorter is because its designed to resemble the hair of the mc back when hmm they are human (so this new form mimics that). Also i think there was something mentioned within the lore that some people who can become nahobinos can have their knowledge forcibly changed to someone elses
So the protag has a higher affinity with Tsukiyomi then tsukiyomi has with yuzuru? I say this because the protag remains in his humanoid form while the other nahobino forms are more monstrous. Normally when someone fused with a nahobino the demon takes the wheel and controls the body, but some small percentage of people like the protag can fuse with any demon and be the one to take the wheel/control the nahobino body, people like the protag could forcibly change the knowledge to reflect the demons while also maintaining control over the nahobino form. Under normal circumstances the nahobino form is controlled by the demon but in a small minority of cases a special human is able to be the more dominant force enough to take control of the nahobino form and can fuse with pretty much any demon while maintaining their humanity or human appearance theoretically.
Commenting at different points of the video so I don't forget every point I think of. I am probably one of the biggest fans of Vs story though so I have a lot to say lmao. I think its interesting that you point out the similarity in appearance between Chaos Hero and Koshimizu/the new nahobino form. Because something that I dont think many people noticed about V is its parallels to 1. I noticed them everywhere as I had just beaten 1 prior to V releasing. The first one is the suggestion of the Netherworld being Tokyo in the future when you meet Yuzuru. This is clearly a reference to SMT 1 where you are also thrown into the future and arrive in a post apocalyptic Tokyo. The other thing is how Tao and Dazai mirror the Law and Chaos Heroes in a way. Tao, like Law Hero, seeks to protect one individual, Sahori (in the case of Law Hero, his girlfriend), fails to (Sahori dies, Law Hero gf becomes undead), sacrifices herself to protect the protagonist and then they both later resurrect as a Law aligned figure. Dazai, is eerily similar to Chaos Hero. Theyre both depicted as losers who then find strength in the fact they can summon and use demons. They even both fuse with demons later in the story. But with Dazai its really noticeable as he becomes more distant and rude like the Chaos Hero later on. The only difference is in their alignment but their arcs are very similar. Law in V even has a sort of "Chaotic" edge to it, where Abdiel becomes a fallen angel and they break their own laws to enact their will. (I think that could also be commentary on corruption in dictatorships though as V is an allegory for ideologies and Law is meant to represent dictatorship, leaders or high up figures in dictatorships usually break the laws they set for other people).
The similarities to SMT1 (and Digital Devil Story in some aspects) is something I definitely brought up in my cut content video for SMTV. Especially if you consider the earliest footage with the main character running around with Tao before they get attacked by demons. The cut element of you having a Pascal-like companion that you could ride(which happened in Digital Devil Story hah), which likely became Hayataro (this also made me want an SMT1 remake in the engine for V). Also with the way the alignment reps are presented in V, I very much liked how Law was more Chaotic and the supposed rep for Chaos was more on the orderly side. Given the demon focus of V and this will especially be the case with Vengeance, there will probably be a Chaotic flavor added to everything.

I completely agree that I would love an SMT 1 remake in Vs engine so badly. Rather than remaking games that dont really need remakes (like P3 and apparently P4 too if leaks are to be trusted), I think Atlus should give SMT 1 a shot. SMT 1 imo has a really good story and setting that I think would be amazing in the style of SMT V, especially given how good the cutscenes in V are, they could make 1 really cinematic
Okay, WHY TF DID THEY CUT THE DETAIL ABOUT KOSHIMIZU BEING A PROTOFIEND? I figured he was a normal demon and that he used his form to base the protofiend of Susanoo on because he wanted to "revive" his brother. Knowing he is a protofiend explains why his nahobino form still looks a bit mechanical and more human like that Nuwa and Abdiel. As a huge SMT V fan I cant believe I didnt know that. I am learning Japanese currently but unfortunately wont be getting Vengeance in Japanese (not good enough for that yet lol) and I really hope they dont cut more stuff like that in the English. I understand why people dislike certain localisers now ...
@@louish5068 So its interesting because for a long time, I didnt know about the protofiend fact either, until I decided to purchase the Japanese official guidebook. The guidebook has some extra information regarding various things in the game and when I looked over Koshimizu, I noticed the mention of him being a protofiend, which surprised me. I wasnt sure my translation was correct until I saw other discussions about him being a protofiend and it being cut from the english version.
Great video and cool theories. I just want to clarify one thing. In Persona its not the Fool Arcana that gives the ability to use multiple Personas. Its the Wild Card ability. The Wild Card represents multiple possibilities. Do not read if want spoilers for Persona 5. While Joker had the wild card ability, so did Akechi. That is why in Akechi had Robin Hood in the party while his original persona was Loki and he revels that when he confronts you while in Shido's Palace. Anyway wanted to clear that up. I think samael itself is the final boss. u can see a 3 headed red dragon that shoots out the red beams of light in the 2nd SMTVV trailer. the qadistu basically want to emulate mem alephs goals from SMTstrange journey redux. yoko is the biggest unknown to me
I'll say it I hope we see a Yahobino The god of abrahamic lore, YHWH, the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent, is usually associated with snakes, but also with bulls in some interpretations... What if we see a form of nahobino with his essence, maybe recreated by Aogami? A Yahobino, perhaps?
Smt5 was a big disappointment for me story wise, especially compared to what came right before it on the 3ds with 4 and strange journey (not 4a lol) anyway here's hoping second time around will be different
