Don’t sleep on how hard it is to alternate pick and play that rhythm section. I’m in love with these strum patterns and cannot nail them for the life of me.
The reason her vocals are a bit off are because she had a cold on this tour. She had to cut the show i went to a little short because her throat was hurting so bad. She's trying her hardest! lol. Still sounds great
Thank you for the explanation. I saw the Snail Mail show in Portland (five days after this recording) and was disappointed in her vocals, and the performance in general. Now I know what was going on.
I've been bingeing on Snail Mail interviews and live performances. So far this is one of my favorites because it was played a day before my birthday. p.s. for all I know this could be happening during my birthday lmaoooo since we're 13 hours ahead of USA (timezone-wise)
Such great stuff. I always hate being compared to other people, but Snail Mail sounds to me like a Dinosaur Jr. with clean guitars and a lady singing. I hope that doesn't sound like a bad thing. I have nothing but love for this great band. This is one of my favorites to listen to while I'm working.
I like Dino and Snail Mail but there is very little similarity, Yes she has a similar model guitar and matches Mascis own downbeat demeanour with her own pouting millennial grumpiness but that's about it.
Check out “Disappearer” from Sonic Youth. About 22 sec into that track you’ll hear a riff that this song lifts and expands. I’m not hating on SM by pointing it out, but I’m surprised that more people haven’t caught this appropriation.
An extremely good guitar player. First time I've seen a Fender Jaguar BTW. She plays it like mixing a rhythm guitar and melodic solos at the same time. Impressive. And without much effort..
aca sono mejor. pero se nota como si le doliera cantar. cuando da entrevistas se nota que tiene un voz tirando a grave. igual es una genia, muy buena banda
“Disappearer,” from Goo. I love both songs, but when I went back and listened to that particular track, my heart sank a little bit. Love that Lindsey apparently counts SY as an influence, but doing a musical copy-and-paste like that... 😕
Who cares if she doesn't sing perfectly? Why does that matter? This is rock, not pop. Only pop stars need to sing perfectly all the time (which is obviously why so many use AutoTune).
Good Shepherd if you’re talking about that fall off tone she does at the end of phrases that’s not being out of Key, that’s her style. She’s always done it
Can't wait for a major label to sign her up, replace her band with studio hacks, replace her boobs with silicone, rewrite her songs so they sound like Mariah Carey ... yeah... thats when know she's "made it!" How do I know this is going to happen? Let's just say that I have a gut feeling... Let's just say that I have... "NO DOUBT."
