I should have touched on what a flip book is! :) You aren't the first who didn't know. :) These are a form of snail mail that people are enjoying to send to their pen pals. There are lots of different styles out there to see! The fun part is you fill the pockets and envelopes with goodies for them to use on their projects, and you always include a letter, of course. Love this flip book! So many ideas.... and I’m terrible about using up my washi... seeing u using it everywhere has given me some confidence to use it on my flip books... I’ve been making more complex layouts of FB’s.. but I do plan on making some traditional ones,too.. especially using my double sided paper...

Wow!!! Your flipbook turned out great. You are certainly no stranger when it comes to using washi tape. Love how you used it to frame the flipbook, flips and envelopes. I really enjoyed just watching you craft. That was a fun video. The binder closure turned out gorgeous, I liked that idea and will probably have to steal it. This was a beautiful flip book. I loved the gold pen idea on the pineapple, and will also steal THAT!

It was crazy, I kept running out of adhesive and had to keep switching! Lol! The blue tape runner is from a brand called Adtech. There are many brands like it though, I picked mine up at Hobby Lobby! It is the greatest way to tape, but can be pricier. Thanks so so much and thanks for watching!! 💖

Wow! There's so much going on this project. Don't get me wrong a like a lot of the embellishments but it just seem too much for one item. I felt I but overwhelm.

I should have touched on that and didn't think about it! It's a type of pen pal/snail mail that you send to a friend. I didn't do it in the video, but the pockets are for adding extra goodies to and I would also send a note inside. They are super fun to give and receive!! I think it's just called a hole punch, and I've had it so long I can't remember exactly. But I am sure it was in the office supply/school section at Walmart or the like! Ok! You have done an amazing job decorating this thing; but, I have a couple of questions. First of all what is its purpose? Do you add pictures somewhere or what. Also, I noticed you glued your washi tape down in some places and not others, why? What is snail mail? I think I would enjoy making it, if I understood the purpose behind it. I'm just a little confused. I new to this whole thing. I just came across it; and, it got my attention. I love paper crafts. Please, clue me in. Thanks!
Yes!! Snail mail is old fashioned pen pal mail, with a twist! It all started about a year ago for me, when I discovered pocket letter's. I won't get into that, but definitely do a search on those, they are so much fun! Actually, here is a link if you want to check out some that I have made, there are also some that have been made for me: ru-vid.com/group/PL3jwjFRp9xBzlggZVXlilhrnN9BXRdTx- These are super popular. BUT this flipbook.... basically you add extra goodies to the pockets, like project life cards, stickers, ephemera pieces, exc to share with your penpal. You also include a letter, some include a "currently" tag. What they are currently watching or reading. Then you wrap it up and mail it off! Typically they send you one in return, and there are many different styles out there. They are lots of fun, and always brings a smile to get one in the mail. I glued the tape down around the edges because it always wants to peel up after being handled a few times, or after sitting for a while. It's annoying! I am trying to find a way to get that to stop happening.
I wanted to ask you about the sticky tabs you put in the little envelope on the one side and the sticky tape residue on the other side.... why did you use diffrent methods of sticky ?
I am pretty certain I was running out of adhesive. lol! I have a habit of doing that, the little tape runners I buy don't really have a lot on them. There really isn't any rhyme or reason why. I have noticed that there's a diffrence between the washi tape from michaels craft store and the tape that looks like washi tape from forever in time brand and some dollars tore brands there a more plastic material. what's the way the thicker plastic tape should be used?
I bought that in the isle at Hobby Lobby that has all the little bottle of acrylic paints. It is awesome! It's called an "18K Gold Leafing Pen". They also come in silver!
Lol! I love that!! Well, it all started with the crappy lefty scissors Iused in elementary school. ;) I swear, those things never worked! So I just eventually got stuck using regular scissors enough that practice made perfect. It's funny you mention that. Brought back memories of picking up a pair of righty scissors, so many times trying to use them with my left hand. Too funny! This is a type of Snail Mail that people are creating to send to their pen pals.
