I spent the morning watching Egyptian history on youtube, then, suddenly, The thought came to mind to see if there's anything on youtube on how to make a snake bracelet...I was so surprised to find this video, all I did was type the word ''Snake Bracelet'' I am definitely making one of these !!! And Subscribing !!!
You are my favorite polymer clay artist! I love your ingenuity as far as coming up with the snake stamp and your designs are all so original and well done. I admire your talent...I just made a heart shaped trinket box that I wish I could have filmed it turned out really well and I even lined the inside with felt and put three little felt feet on the bottom. I will take a picture of it as soon as I can.
You are so wonderful! I never would have thought of making a stamp for snake skin, let alone, one from polymer clay! I can't wait to make my own stamp now and give it a try! Great job!
This and your dragon bracelet remind me of Belly Dancing, and so does the music ;) I'd worry about it breaking when trying to put in on or off, but maybe using wire like people suggest.. I'll have to try it!
Very clever and creative! Thank you for sharing your skills and expertise. I’m wondering how strong the bracelet is? It’s now 2022. Has the bracelet held up well? I have made several bangles and they invariably get broken. Do you think it’s possible to embed memory wire into a design like this?
That is amazing. :) I always get so happy when I see you have made a new video. Your skills are just out of this world. I love it. Did I ever mention I love snakes? :D Get one in the house from time to time and I never mind that. I just catch them and put them outside. - Heidi
Thank you very much :) I don't know what I feel towards snakes, real ones, not in the zoo, I have seen only few times, in the woods :). They were cute, small and greenish :)
will the tail eventually break with use or if you bump into something? is polymer clay strong enough to withstand the use? cause you will bump into the table, etc all the time with a bracelet and i dont know how strong polymer clay is... do you know? what if we put a thick wire inside would that help a bit or not? o if we made this with epoxy clay would that be stronger? i covered an elongated door know with a snake very similar to this idea 20 years ago and the epoxy is still intact and it has a lot of use! i love everything you make. i wanna be your friend and make things together all day long! so much fun!
This is perfect! And you did find the perfect music to go with it! I think I need to make a Cleopatra costume, now. Thanks for sharing! How about trying something Doctor Who inspired?
Thank you! About Doctor Who (yes, I know I answered under your another commented about that, but, just in case:) I am going to follow your idea, I like much :))
Thanks :) Since I have done it not so long time ago - I don't know yet :). I had it on me few times for half of the day and it was ok :). I also managed to drop it ;), and snake survived that - so for now I am quite positive about it. I will see with time and I will try to update this comment later :)
Diav Draconia lol im actully kinda happy u actually wear this because i hate it when people make things they wont even wear. ;) Great idea and braclet. Super cute :3
joki Melfa Thank you :))) Indeed, I do wear things that I make (and for the record, snake bracelet still didn't break, there is one disadvantage in wearing it in summer though - it makes skin under sweat. So, snake bracelet is getting summer break right now ;) ) :))
This is amazing! You are very talented, I have watched several of your videos and have subscribed. I am wondering, will the bracelet be strong enough not to break while wearing it?
Thanks so much for this inspiring video. I tried baking my snake wrapped around a parchment covered glass bottle but unfortunately it fell off onto the oven grill. Any ideas on how to best do this? Thanks for any help you are willing to share.
Creative by Nature ~ Lisa Lipsett Thanks for comment! :) Now, about ideas, I have some - first, you can cover a parchment with paper tape - it will be more rough than parchment, therefore allow your creation less sliding. Second, you can try very gently wrap your bracelet (while on the bottle) with tin foil, just to hold it in place (but this is just an idea, haven't tried it myself). And third - you could try to make a "stand" from aluminium foil, under the bracelet, around the bottle, to avoid sliding down :). Hope one of those helps! Personally I used a bit of paper tape over baking paper wrapped around the can and it held it :) (4:12)
Creative by Nature ~ Lisa Lipsett Och, and I baked it head down, so paper tape was actually a bit lower than head, that is why it stopped it from sliding :)
Przecudowne!
wow you are so talented i wanna make the head of a cobra for my DIY cleopatra costume but i don't think I can do it that well I have never done clay molding or baking :(
Thank you very much :). Head of a cobra is a great idea and I am sure that if you try you will succeed! Just search for some cobra pictures in Internet to be sure to keep the resemblance :)
Both! First ( 6:12 ) I am using mica powders (Pearl Ex and Perfect Pearls) and then, on top of that acrylic paints ( 9:01 ) - first silver, then black after baking :)
I used Fimo so I baked it 30 minutes in 110C/230F :). Since this bracelet is wrapped around full can I can't make an opening on side to keep it stable, so - I wrap can with paper tape, to keep clay in place, then fit my clay around the can quite tightly and place it vertically. To secure it from sliding you can also use more paper tape, to hold in place - for example, to make some kind of rant under the bracelet :). Not sure if I am clear enough? If not, tell me, and I will try to make a drawing to put on my facebook :)
Thank you Diav. You were clear enough for me to understand what you were saying. Thank you so very much for helping with your explanation. It is much appreciated. :)
