Not gonna lie, your daughter was way more informative and easy to follow than most older expert snake handlers out there. She's golden. Keep up the good work little pro.
Riley does such a great job with her explanation and demonstrations. Honestly, I believe watching someone so young making it look that easy puts adults at ease. The 'ol "If a kid can do it so can I" thing. That $10 is certainly worth it when purchasing from you!!!!
After hours and hours of research, that was on of the best videos I’ve seen. Riley was awesome! I’ve watched lots of adults who did not educate that well. Great job!
Reach Out Reptiles I agree, Garrett i am getting a super dwarf sunday and I'm going to use this as help and show my Mum as she's freaking out she's fine with my royal and boa but my new tiny girl has her nervous, thank your daughter for an excellent video
Thank you! And the same mentality applies to Ball Pythons, just generally less necessary as they usually aren't as enthusiastic about food, or handling, as a Retic. :)
"Oh... you think I'm going to eat you. That must not be a good feeling to have." Even if they don't process the world the way we do, I think we can all agree that it's probably nothing short of terrifying. And they're usually way more chill about it than any human ever could be haha.
Awesome vid!! Been working with my first retic for 6 months now and never used a hook! He was a defensive little guy for sure but with time and consistency he’s really starting to come around. It’s really amazing as they grow older their thought process begins to change and they start recognizing their keeper.
Really great video! And very impressive handling skills, Riley! You’re one of my new mentors/heroes :) I’m not sure I’d ever be that comfortable handling snakes already stored at head height! Color me impressed. Glad to learn!
Awesome video. You are doing an awesome job as both breeder and parent. I love what you stand for and hope to purchase from you in the near future so my kids can learn with retics. They help me out with my true red tails now.
I don't have them listed like that, but if you would like to contact me for inquires, shoot me an email to garrett@reachoutreptiles.com, or pm me on facebook. ;)
I would totally pay $10 to have that expert work with my next snake before I got it. Btw, how do I find your available animals? I’m new to your channel and I really enjoy it. Thank you for making such quality content! Happy Thanksgiving!
Also I have to say I learned a lot off your vids too. (For larger snakes like big pythons/boa's) and hook/tap traning is defenitly the way to go to not get a foodbite.. Also your daughter is a real snake whisperer.👍👍 I find it great seeing young kids that love snakes.
HAHA! I love your marketing tactic using your daughter. She's a smart one! I wonder where she gets it from...hmmmm. Anywho, thank you to both you and your daughter for the education!
She loves being in front of the camera, in case you couldn't tell... lol. I feel it's important as a father to do anything possible to give my girls confidence in who they are.
Reach Out Reptiles oh I agree 100%. It was adorable that’s all. Love the education on everything that your channel offers. I love that you include family as well. You’re a great guy which inspires me to strive to be the same way
Your daughter did great! She was very informative and well versed in snake handling. Hello from our family to yours. We are former residents of PA now residing in Washington state.
Absolutely AWESOME video! Makes me wish I had started with snakes years ago when my daughter was that age, must be awesome to have the kids involved like that.
Best value for service in the whole reptile industry. Seems cute, but I actually notice a HUGE difference in how well and how quickly the animals acclimate.
Dude we have a future breeder over here! she is adorable, you tell her from us that she was brilliant and we cant wait for her future vlogs! Alot of love from the Uk great content 🤘
Very helpful! I have a young white lipped python that cant seem to tame even after months. Would it be better to handle it without a glove and be bitten a few times and let the snake get used to my skin instead of wearing gloves all the time?
Some white lips, especially being wild caught, simply do not acclimate well to handling. That being said, I would wear gloves as much as you need for yourself to feel comfortable, and not be jumpy, but then as she begins to calm, you can remove them. Remember to always approach from below, not above.
Great video, your daughter is quite the little snake handler, my youngest daughter loves to help me in the snake room as well. We use a plastic shovel instead of a snake hook but use the exact same methods. I'm working with predominantly ball pythons so honestly we rarely need to use anything, most people know ball pythons rarely bite unless they are hatchlings or really young. Can't wait to get my first super dwarf from Reach out.
Thank you! I'm at the peak of learning being a newbie and this was absolutely gold & more informative given snake behaviours at a given time compared to a lot of other videos I've seen. Many thanks 🙏
Was and is! She takes her little job very seriously, and is a dedicated little worker. I love hearing her own ideas on how to do things better, its great what she comes up with!
I agree, your daughter is a pro. As always you have turned out a great video. I’m looking forward to seeing how her training turns out for me personally in a few weeks.
Just bought myself a 10 year old BP, he aint bitey at all, but he is very shy! Will it be possible to make him less scared and shy with handeling? He was a breeder animal so he spend those 10 years in a tub.. Now he has a big bio active enclosure and he seems to enjoy it.
New subscriber here. Ive watched a few of your videos tonight and love the education. You should definitely include your daughter more often, that was adorable.
Great video! Oh my gosh your daughter is the best. I've never been a fan of hooks personally so I made a "snake shield" out of cardboard. Same function, different aesthetic lol. :)
Thank you! Yeah, basically anything will do the trick- the hooks are just used in this instance because they do double duty when we are handling animals that we need to keep the heads pointed away- and I want my kids to learn to be gentle, but effective with this tool so they can be used if needed in the future. With the Retics, I generally use whatever object is within reaching distance. If it were a venomous snake that I were rescuing or relocating, as an example, a hook is much more important. :)
I started hook training because my burmese is really food aggressive .. And it helps me to switch her mind from food response to handeling .. the first couple of days she was like wtf is this but now soon as I tap her head she turns arround
This was a great video! One question, I have a defensive childrens python and was wondering if gloves is a good idea as previously his mouth got stuck. If so which gloves should I buy!! ❤
I never got bitten and I wish I did now because I will never know how it feels I’m sure there would be a small difference between my corn snake or my Burmese python 😂I just try to avoid getting bitten so far so good owner of 4 beautiful snakes 🐍 corn snake ball python boa Burmese 🐍still so scared of bites 😂😂🤷♀️Help haha, great video
Awesome channel and I subbed because you have some great educational material and great advice for raising social snakes !! :o) All of my young snakes were raised hook trained then graduated from the hook to finger taps and hand commands and snakes are intelligent enough to learn routines from their handler !!! Charming children and so great to see them a big part of your educational videos !!!
Thank You !! :) It's all about being the snakes voice for them and helping others better understand them and how important they are in this universe and how easy it is to raise social snakes :)
