Ha! This was fun to watch. I love this company. Everything they make is just ridiculously delicious. If I could, I would use them exclusively on tour. I love their logo. If I got that tattooed on me could I get a free fun pack of some cool pedals for my touring rig or studio? Doesn't hurt to ask :). I really dig that platform pedal! I've got a Wampler mini ego, but I might have to swap it out for either that or the tone corset. Really love these guys! Feels like they just can't go wrong. My second pedal ever, was a big muff Pi with the wicker function. Really got me into pedals. I went a little pedal crazy after that. My first good gain pedal was the soul food. My first good reverb was the cathedral. And I no longer use a wah pedal. Since I got the cock wah and fuzz. More than does the job for me! I've got the freeze too. Amazing tool for writing. Pass my walking billboard idea onto them and let me know 😁!
I love John's work with the Afghan Whigs these days...one of my favorite bands ever, I've seen him live with them three times now...!! On the EHX front I only use a Pog 2 which is incredible ...!!!
Met John at summer namm when I was trying out the tone corset. Definitely the only compressor I've ever been into. John's super nice and a great player too!
Hot Wax sounds great, gonna have to give that one a look when it's released. Digging the new Mig as well, I had a Mig 100 about 20 years ago & it was outstanding. Smelled like cabbage though.
So sick of pedals that try to make you sound like a tube amp. Kids have gone insane complicating something so simple. Instead of buying 10 dirt boxes at $300 ea.... Just save your $3k and buy a good tube amp. Get a Mesa mk V and be done with the toys.
If you're on a budget I would say AC15 or if you want a fendery sound some of the midpriced fender reissue options. But yeah - I agree with you in general. I use a lot of pedals but my base tone has always been a great sounding tube amp. Makes your pedals sound better too.
