Whatever works for you...if you are satisfied with your purchases...then that's all that matters...People need to stop worrying about what everybody else thinks

What you said is completely true !! But sadly we live in a world where people think the brand makes the mechanic and are things cheap?? For sure but a lot of Mid level stuff has come along way over a decade

Nice set up you have. I have a 72 inch master series , but the big drawback is, I wish it had a full length top drawer like your Epic. Also, on a sidenote, in the future, I’d recommend turning your phone sideways when doing your videos.

To your phone comment ..yeahhhhh kinda realized I screwed that up about an hour after posting this video but it’s here now 😆 😂 My only “issue” with the epiq is (and I’m not comparing but just stating an observation I’ve noticed here and there ) and that is it being 30” deep and the top drawer high up on me compared to other boxes (I’m 5’10”) it makes it “fun” to reach in the far back row of my top drawer. Usually a bit of a stretch to do so but other than that the box is awesome. I usually get shit for not having snap on wrenches and sockets but what i use has worked for me thus far and that’s not bad mouthing snap on for I have snap on tools but for the price of sockets and wrenches I went “mid level” and haven’t had an issue yet
@russellpottenger8584
@russellpottenger8584 3 месяца назад
You’re absolutely right. I have the benefit of being 6’3” and I’ve always built my work benches higher up to make my job easier so therefore, my toolbox and deep drawers are an asset. I happen to have a lot of Snap on hand tools along with their 18v and 14.4 along with a lot of Mack and Milwaukee. Bottom line is I agree with you it’s your money and buy what works best for you. Appreciate your time and putting the toolbox tour together and responding back to me 👍🏻

@@russellpottenger8584 oh I didn’t mean the comment about my money my tools to come across snotty or sarcastic I did not mean that what I meant to say is that if they do break or become a consistent issue I will gladly upgrade them to something snap on and or Mac Sorry if that came across kinda condescending I did not mean that

Your comment didn’t come across as being snotty or arrogant. One of the reasons why I enjoy watching toolbox tours and tool reviews is getting perspective from different people on what works for them and what doesn’t. 👊🏻

Nice box. I had all milwaukee sockets and wrenches for a short time, including flex heads. Sold them all off. Cant say they were bad but for some reason i just didnt like them. To each their own

I would prolly of went with tekton wrenches not Milwaukee but at the time I didn’t know about tekton and the Milwaukee regular combination wrenches at the time we’re on sale for 90.00 bucks so I said why not

I feel kinda dumb buying the snap on one because them being on at 350 ish ft lbs and some have blue lock tight from the factory the 3/4” drive Detroit one is way better That Detroit one on my 3/4” drive 40” long breaker bar makes short work of it 90% of the time

I have been a heavy equipment/heavy truck mechanic 30 years now. I use mainly Mac tools now. But the Milwaukee wrench’s are not that bad. I prefer the Mac precision torque. Similar style but far superior wrench. That sucks you don’t get into engines on your fleet. I also have a lot of dd13 and 15 in gravel trucks. I have 2 of my younger guys doing in frames right now to gain experience. Nice set up you have for only a few years I. The trade. You should get the tiger tool u joint puller and anchor pin press both a lifesaver.

Yeah when I bought my first miwlaukee set a few years ago (wrenches ) I saw other brands were similar with their open jaw so trust me when I say I know they’re not unique to Milwaukee but I do like the Milwaukee wrenches. Yes they could be a tiny bit longer but for 99.99 for one combination wrench set (bought most of my stuff on sale, I think the regular combo wrenches go for 139.00 ish??? Full price but for 99 bucks plus tax and stuff I gave them a try and never looked back. yeah we havet done any inframe work sense pre Covid and even then the inframe work was very rare. That mostly came down to a slow slow pull away from what o would call “a total garage” to just what my old boss called “just a PM shop” it sucks we don’t but I’ve found ways to get further in my career. Just a year ago we started buying the parts to do rear end spring bushing. We bought one air-hydraulic press and a pulled and an ez red laser alignment kit to do in-house alignments. That’s the one thing I pushed my bosses to do so it’s one less thing we send out lol and I like doing it. The overall problem in my garage is for some reason as time went on less and was was done in house but then again the place is 30 years old we’ve put grown the warehouse AND THE GARAGE Things were just different in the 90’s lol I do wish we did in frames but I was able to get them to buy equipment for my n house alignments it’s not perfect but it’s a step in the right direction Also as for the mac comment I don’t know if I said it in my video sorry if I’m redundant but we never had a mac guy. Only had snap on here sense I’ve been here with the exception of a brief and I mean brief run with a Matco guy (maybe 6-8 months) Even with snap on being here sense I’ve been here flash back to 2019 when I was in the garage as an apprentice I was very intimidated to get on that truck because well to be blunt and not hating but blunt New tech and even now that shit is expensive. but I’ve bought several things now. I don’t think I’ll ever change my wrenches or sockets unless shit really hits the fan but time will tell won’t it ? Thanks for watching 🍻

Oh and as for the tiger tools we have them in the shop. That’s one of the better things I guess of this shop. Specialty tool? They probably have it . Wheel nut sockets (3 3/4 for example ) shop has it. U-joint tool? Got it. Now in the future would I like those AS MY OWN regardless if the shop has them? Ohhhh for sure but that’s down the road 🙂

Oh so the shop has the anchor pin press and I actually bought for my self the anchor pin sleeve press … If it’s the “hollow spider” I don’t need the tool I can get them out with a chisel and a hammer or air hammer The solid spiders is what I bought the tools for

@@user-rr4hr7bz7n The only time I suggest upgrading is if the tool is failing, extremely common use or the biggest reason you need it at home. My tools at home are a lot of the cheaper stuff I started out with. Sure is handy not to have to take tools home to do a job. The biggest reason I have a lot off tools considered shop tools is that I used to work out of a service truck on remote sites where everything had to be flown in or come in on the ice roads in the winter which we had to build as well. Oh I should tell you if you don’t already know any Detroit specialty tools are usually cheaper or the same price as Amazon. I’m up in Canada no harbour freight here and they won’t ship to us. Oh and the mueller kupps thread chasers for Knox dept temp and soot sensors definitely worth investing in. Expensive but make life a lot easier.
@user-rr4hr7bz7n
@user-rr4hr7bz7n 3 месяца назад
@@1234563221 yeah I hear yeah with the specialty tools I eventually want to have my own when I first started I literally went on a shopping spree between Home Depot, lowes and harbor freight because I just needed the bare bones basics. Ya know simple socket sets a few ratchets, two basic impact guns screw driver set, hex/allan sets etc etc. when it came time for sockets I’m sorry not hating but I couldn’t justify 550.00 USD (sorry don’t know the conversion rate top of my head) for ONE snap on 1/2 impact socket set. Sorry it’s American made and all and I know it’s better steel or better alloys in the socket but not at 1000.00+ for two sets because as you’re aware stuff is mixed specially when working in trailers a lot of the stuff is SAE We have re thread/taps for the NOx sensors and stuff that shit comes in handy instead of cutting out and re welding a new bung in
